Chapter 15 - Stone corridor

Three hours later, Kleint started teaching Liana about magic with the knowledge he had received after getting a class.

Kleint was entirely surprised by Liana's quick learning; he was not expecting anything that, in just three hours, she would know how to move mana.

Damn it, why is the world so unfair... Kleint pursed his lips in envy at Liana's incredible talent for magic.

Letting out a long sigh to calm himself, he continued to teach her a large part of the knowledge he had gained from the class, and he could not teach her all of it because Liana had to rest.

Alice told them to stop because, in a few hours, she was going out to the place she had found by chance, which Kleint knew she had not found by chance, to explore it.

Leaning against a tree and letting a gentle breeze hit his face, Kleint closed his eyes as he thought about the exploration they would do later, and he couldn't help but feel nervous.

Alice said that the place we were going to was dangerous, but she did not give much detail so we would not suspect her... But if she takes us to that place, it's because the chances of dying are not high. Besides, if it were too dangerous, I wouldn't take Liana, who has never fought a monster to certain death.

Sigh. If she had given me more information about the place, I could think of something that wouldn't put my life in danger in case of an emergency. Well, let's not believe that. A regressor is leading us...

With this last thought, Kleint calms down, and I close my eyes to take a little bit before leaving.

An hour later, Kleint, Alice, Lee Joon, and Liana were assembled, fully prepared to depart from where Alice had found "By Chance."

"Did you teach Liana some magic, at least the basics?" Alice looked at Kleint, who was finishing eating a loaf of bread.

Kleint finished chewing the hard bread he had softened with water and saliva. After finishing the hard bread, he replied sincerely: "Sigh, I didn't expect her to learn so quickly.

"I explained almost all the information of my [Mage] class to her, and she learned it extremely fast; I'm not surprised that she already got the message from the system to choose a class."

Alice didn't seem surprised with what Kleint said but somewhat satisfied with what she had heard. She looked at Liana and asked, "Liana, with what Kleint taught you, can you do anything, at least to defend yourself?"

Liana shook her head.

"N-No, I-I don't think I'm ready to face those monsters head-on yet. Besides, I don't have the confidence to take on a major role or even use magic."

Quite reasonable... Kleint, if he were in the same situation, would have been looking for some excuse not to have an essential role if he didn't know Alice was a regressor.

"Quite honest..." Alice muttered to herself. "But I didn't ask you to make you nervous. I only asked you so you could at least defend yourself if things got complicated."

Liana attended nervously, without saying a word.

"Alice, do you have any information about the place or how we will explore that place?" Kleint asked because he didn't want to enter that place without having at least an idea of the place.

Alice didn't answer right away, but after a brief silence of three seconds, she said calmly: "The place we are going to... Hmm, it's similar to a dungeon, as in online games.

"But I can't give too much detail since I didn't go too deep into the place because I didn't know what I would find in the place. But I can say there will be monsters a little stronger than we didn't encounter."

Lee Joon, Liana, and Kleint tensed up when they heard the last part because he still had the vivid image of how the monsters ravaged the "Starting point and the makeshift camp."

And Alice just said that the monsters where they are headed are more robust than the previous ones.

I don't have to get so worked up. I already have a class, and a regressor is leading us... Kleint said to himself to reassure himself.

Which worked, realizing that he doesn't have to face those monsters head-on.

After discussing how they would enter and explore the site, they finished preparing and set off.

On their way to the place Alice had discovered, they encountered some monsters, which Alice easily defeated with precise and fast cuts.

Kleint, Liana, and Lee Joon did not participate so as not to waste energy and mana.

After walking through the forest, they finally reached a cave far from the safe zone.

"Is this the place you said you found?" asked Lee Joon, looking at the cave entrance.

Alice said, "I found this place while walking around here. Before I encountered the complicated situation that Liana and the others who stayed in the safe zone were in."

Before anyone spoke, Alice continued earnestly:

"Don't let your guard down when we go in. One slip up, and we could die."

Kleint, Liana, and Lee Joon attended with serious expressions.

"Let's enter."

Without further delay, they entered the cave. Once inside the cave, they found themselves in a long stone corridor with minimal lighting, and on the walls, there were torches embedded in the walls.

The corridor looked like a dungeon out of a medieval book where criminals are imprisoned and tortured. But with the difference that this one does not have the strong smell of urine or blood, and it is abnormally clean.

This looks like something out of a horror novel... Kleint tried to create some fire to light the torches on the walls, but Alice looked at him and, with her eyes, told him not to do it.

A confused expression appeared on Kleint's face when he saw that Alice had not let him light the place a little further on.

A strange figure appeared before them; on the walls, the torches embedded in them began to light up with a crimson red.

As the crimson veil slowly illuminated the corridor, Kleint, Lee Joon, and Liana's expressions darkened when they saw the creature before them. And Alice gripped her two swords tightly.

And they prepared to fight the creature in front of them.
