Chapter 17 - Willowbrook's

As they walk down the long stone corridor, the torches on the walls illuminate the crimson-red path.

"Looks like there are no more monsters on the path..." Liana murmured, noticing she had not encountered any more monsters after walking down the long corridor.

"Don't let the guard down. There may be no monster for the moment, but you can't be careless," Alice warned in a serious voice without looking away from the hallway.

Liana looked serious and then looked back and saw Kleint and Lee Joon, who were silent, slowed down the pace a bit and then asked as if to speak something and not be silent all the time, "This, Kleint, how did you do to throw that wind blade and fireball so accurately and quickly?"

"Huh?" Kleint looked at Liana, raising his eyebrow slightly at the sudden question. "Do you want me to explain how to use magic or how to react so fast?"

Seeing that Kleint intended to talk to her, Liana spoke quietly for fear of attracting the attention of some monster, "I want to know, how did you react in time?"

"Well, the way I reacted so fast is due to the experiences I had before." Kleint didn't give much detail and didn't want to go too deep into that because he didn't want to remember Davey's betrayal.

Upon hearing Kleint's short answer, Liana didn't know what to say next and remained silent as she continued walking down the long stone corridor.

...

After walking for a few minutes down the long stone corridor, they finally saw a wooden door in the wall.

When they saw the door, they sighed in relief, tired of seeing only a stone wall and torches.

Alice looked back and said in a low voice: "Get ready, and don't let your guard down; there will most likely be a monster."

Liana and Lee Joon attended seriously, not wanting to freeze again like before.

Seeing everyone was ready, Alice slowly opened the door, producing a metallic creaking sound.

Once the door was fully opened, Alice did not enter immediately but took one of the torches from the wall and threw it into the room. But after a few seconds of nothing happening, she enters the room, expanding her senses, looking for hidden monsters.

After checking and finding nothing, Alice told them to go inside, as there was no danger. Kleint snapped his fingers inside the room and lit the torches, illuminating the place.

With the room illuminated, they could see a rather old bed, a wooden table with a worn candle, and a red book with exquisite details. In one corner was a skeleton dressed in a plain white shirt, worn brown trousers, and a yellowish-colored leaf in his hand.

Kleint activated his attribute to ensure there was no monster, and three status windows appeared before him; seeing no monster status window, he relaxed completely.

Meanwhile, in the room, Liana approached the corpse, took the sheet that was there, and began to read aloud, calling everyone's attention: "To my dear mother who is no longer with me.

"In the garden of my soul, sadness blooms, Beloved mother, my heart is firmly torn, My tears are entwined in a sea of thoughts Because, in every wound caused, I did not know how to love.

"Forgive me, beloved mother, For sleepless nights, For every hurtful word, For torment without consolation, I was a relentless wind, that swept away your calm, Now, repentant, I cry out for your sweet soul.

"In the mirror, I see reflected my cowardice, My selfish actions, my negligence day after day; you are my beacon of love, my guide in the storm, And I, blind and wandering, failed to value your presence.

"Words fall short, Mother, to express The magnitude of my pain, the weight of my grief; I implore your forgiveness with tears in my eyes. May my rapture be the bond of our embrace.

"Mother, you are the sun that lights my path, The purest love, Eternal and sincere; let me make amends for the mistakes I made And write a new story with love shared.

"In our next lives, Mother dearest..."

When Liana finished reading, a silence fell over the place, and after a moment, Alice spoke:

"It seems that the person who wrote that missed his mother very much and was not a good son..." She said reminiscently as she shook her head and continued to survey the room.

On the other hand, Liana, who was the one who read this, had silent tears on her face as she remembered her mother, who always spoiled her too much and listened to all her problems. The same thing happened with Lee Joon, but with the difference that he was not crying.

But Klein, hearing this, felt absolutely nothing and continued to inspect the room, walked over to the table, and picked up the red book with exquisite detail.

Legendary rank? Kleint could not believe what he held in his hands and even began to tremble holding the book.

His eyes were wide open, especially seeing the "Legendary Rank" part, which glowed with a beautiful golden color.

Alice, who had noticed Kleint's surprise, approached, and when she saw the book she was holding, her eyes widened with surprise. She did not expect that book to be in this place and thought: Shouldn't that book be in this place... or where this book was initially found in this room?

Coming out of her surprise, Alice asks: "What's wrong? Why so surprised?"

"... Well, the book I'm holding in my hands is an alchemy book, and it's of legendary rank," Kleint said without lying because he knew that Alice knew the book in his hands.

"Legendary rank?" Alice feigned surprise.

Look how she feigned surprise... Kleint snorted internally at Alice's fake surprise: "Yes, legendary rank."

Hearing what they were talking about, Liana and Lee Joon approached when they heard "legendary rank" since it was the first time they had seen an item with that rank.
