Chapter 29 - Tony Stark

On the next day, Daisy tied up her hair, and wore a pair of black-framed glasses, a suit with trousers, and high heels, giving herself the appearance of an urban beauty. She led her external image team, Mr. James Wesley, and the maid-slash-legal advisor Miss Maki Matsumoto, to the headquarters of Stark Industries in Manhattan.

Expecting someone to greet them at the front gate was unrealistic. They had set a meeting time and decided to wait in the lounge.

Daisy took out her portable tablet that she carried with her, crossed her legs, and used some of her small programs to access Stark Industries' internal network.

She was well aware of the famous AI JARVIS, but Stark wouldn't integrate artificial intelligence into the conglomerate. Considering the number of eyes within the company, he wouldn't expose such cutting-edge technological achievements.

Daisy's guess was correct. She cautiously probed and managed to gain departmental head-level access.

Looking at the benefits available here, it had to be said that large corporations and conglomerates offered excellent perks. Although the selection criteria were high, countless people still strove to get in every day.

Downloading data swiftly, she nudged James Wesley with her elbow after ten minutes, indicating him to look at her findings.

"Software engineers, statistics experts, these people are talented, but Stark Industries rejected them. We can pick some of them to enrich our team." Daisy handed her tablet to James.

Job seekers, eager to enter large corporations, practically wrote their entire family history on their resumes. Every detail of what they had done, awards received, companies worked for, residence, and family situation, was detailed. Each job applicant also included comments from Stark Group's human resources department.

At present, their makeshift team didn't have any talent assessment standards, and while the scores given by Stark Industries couldn't be the decisive factor, they were still an important reference. Having professional comments from a large company made the selection process much easier.

The former advisor of the underworld calmly looked over. Some resumes were impressive, and he planned to call them after returning.

If it were a legitimate businessman, they wouldn't resort to such means to obtain job seeker information; it was undoubtedly an illegal act.

However, neither of them cared.

After waiting for half an hour, the graceful Pepper Potts, in high heels, arrived in front of the three.

She was friendly and shook hands with Daisy as soon as she arrived. "Mr. Stark worked late yesterday; he's on his way here. Would you like to wait in the reception room?"

Probably fooling around with some cover girl! Daisy had no good feelings for playboys like Stark, but she still behaved politely and followed Pepper to the reception room.

Daisy didn't know what Pepper, as an assistant, thought of Tony changing women every day, but she casually brought up the topic when thinking about her mission.

"What kind of person is Mr. Stark? Miss Potts, can you tell me?"

Such a question was quite impolite, but Daisy has a good face, and things that are not serious can be forgiven!

Miss Potts thought for a moment. "Mr. Stark is very talented, a true genius. I believe he can change the world."

After waiting for a while in the guest room, President Obadiah Stane pushed the door and walked in.

Setting aside his identity as a villain, Obadiah was a very elegant and charismatic old man. His tall stature and impressive demeanor added to his charm.

He is not like many elderly people who enjoy relying on their age. He is neither stubborn nor proud; instead, he is open-minded to new things.

After exchanging a few pleasantries, Daisy had a good impression of the old man. This guy didn't need to impress others with his frequency; he maintained his demeanor through personal cultivation.

However, as the conversation entered the substantive stage, the rhetoric on both sides finally became sharp.

"Data analysis? Can computers predict human behavior? I doubt that" Obadiah took full control of the conversation, and the secretaries of both Tony and Daisy could no longer interrupt.

The only ones who could match his aura were the former gangster and Daisy.

"We can collect data, know what the target likes and pursues, and sell the most needed goods to the people who want them the most," James first rebutted Obadiah's doubts.

The old man wasn't easy to convince; he shook his head, "You didn't answer my question, not substantively."

Daisy took over the topic, "We live in a digital age. Our bank records, medical records, emails, university exam scores—these semi-public data can be used as a basis for calculations. We use numbers to outline a relatively vivid personal image, and then have the option to strategically place products for them."

After saying this, Daisy felt strange. The first half of what she said seemed like lines from the Insight Plan...

Obadiah, the old man, was insightful. Although he didn't want to dominate the world like Hydra, he had a keen eye. Daisy's words instantly revealed a new world to him.

"What if I want to acquire your company? What kind of offer would you accept?" he asked.

Daisy smiled, "The market is too vast for us to swallow, and Stark Industries can't swallow it either. A weapon in the hands of a small country will only be feared, but if it's in the hands of a big country, everyone will fight for it."

Obadiah quickly thought about it. Although the logic was a bit skewed, it wasn't without merit. Stark Industries had reached its peak, monopolizing the position of a leader in manufacturing weapons and dealing in arms. If they added data analysis to tailor products for customers, it would undoubtedly attract hostility.

Recently, the country's support for Justin Hammer was almost undisguised, hoping that Hammer Industries could challenge Stark Industries.

After considering the reactions from various parties, Obadiah ultimately abandoned the idea of a direct acquisition. However, he wouldn't give up on the big data project. He planned to distance himself from Stark Industries and undertake it in his own name. It would be discreet and save a lot of trouble, but he needed to see how the analysis would be carried out.

"Miss Johnson has great insight and wisdom. Please forgive my rudeness; let's continue discussing the cooperation," he said.

To let the other party witness the strength of the Skye Data Analytics Company, they were granted authorization to connect to Stark Group's supercomputer on-site for data analysis.

Daisy's algorithms were at least three to five years ahead of the current world, and she was not afraid of being surpassed in the short term.

Following the scale and revenue of Stark Industries, paired with the conflict zones on a global scale, they aimed to identify the regions with the largest supply and demand relationship—these would be the new points of economic growth.

As they awaited the results, the door to the guest room was slammed open.

Wearing a navy blue suit, a checkered tie, and sporting his distinctive facial hair, Tony Stark hurriedly walked in.
