Opening his eyes revealed stalactites hanging from the ceiling. Surprisingly Lurue still sat across his vision against the other cave wall.
Her body pressed against the rock wall with her limbs laying limply by her side. Dark black hair pressed and set against her forehead. Dirty clothes almost turned into thatherd rags remained on both her and Liam alike.
Looking over his body his belongings still remained by his side. His dagger still remained by his side and his sheath rested on his hip.
Glancing outside Liam gathered that it must have rained more since their arrival. As morning dew rested on the grass blades and leaves he asked Lurue something important.
"How many days have I been out?" He said as he scratched his head in an uncharacteristic manner.
"It was hard to count but I'd say at least two day cycles" Lurue quipped back
"Damn" Liam thought to himself. That was the longest it has ever taken him to recover from a injury since he first made his Vow.
Recalling the information from the cave he decided to keep to himself what he truly learned in the bottom or else he would look insane.
"About the Cave" Liam began to explain
"As I was moving deeper I came across a mineshaft, and Having no light I felt around the darkness to orient myself, however I tripped and pressed my weight against one of the support beams," Before I knew it I was having to sprint to return back here before getting crushed. He told Lurue.
"Interesting" the dark haired woman responded
Feeling that Lurue didn't fully believe Liam he shifted the subject.
"How is your leg feeling?" Liam asked her
"Better, if you can get something to wrap it with we can start whatever devious plan you have in mind" Lurue elaborated
"Lurue I will be back in a minute with what you need"
Taking his dagger out of his shoe Liam headed for the exit of the cave. Stepping outside Liam moved his hand to block the blinding light filling his vision. As the harsh light subsided Liam moved his feet forward. Feeling his feet sink into the ground Liam was annoyed at the amount of effort he had to put in to simply walk. Stumbling upon the first tree he could find he hoisted himself up on top of one of the thicker branches he could see. Using his dagger he cut through a couple of the branches to not only use them as fire wood but also to gather the thick leaves.
Returning back to the cave with branches in tow he decided to work on making Lurue a cast or support for her leg. Taking two strips of bear carcass and the leaves he had he fashioned the leaves between the two strips and placed it around her wound before tightening it with a piece of ripped cloth from the village he previously stayed in.
"Is this too tight?" Liam asked her
"No it's just fine" Lurue reassuringly responded.
"Okay good" Liam stated
"We will let the leg rest and I'll make food for us before we start using your Vow."
Taking a chunk of meat and walking outside he threw the meat on his makeshift fire pit. Placing the branches under the meat he then retrieved a flint he found from the cave while mousing around thinking of a plan. Holding his hands close to the potential fire he sparked the flint against the dagger and thankfully sparks flew and caught the timber on fire.
As the smell of sizzling meat hit the air Liam mentally steeled himself to execute the plan. Taking Lurue her food on a left over leaf Liam felt his cheeks briefly raise into a crescent shape before returning to their original position.
