Feeling invigorated and strong Liam put his best foot forward as his body followed. The time for planning was now in the past, now is the time for action. Moving along the side of the walls of the outpost he concealed his body in the shadows moving quickly and precisely. Sword drawn and gripped in his hand with all his might.
Gathering his breath he collected his senses till nothing but the faint pounding of his heart could be heard ringing in his ears. His thirst for revenge and success drove his instincts into overdrive and with new found confidence he prepared himself to walk into the outpost.
Springing from the wall nearest into the wide opening into the outpost filled Liam's eyes with information. As he witnessed the distorted camp Liam's own stake and curiosity grew more and more.
However before any questions could be answered Liam's attention was forced to be diverted from any question due to the all familiar whistling resonated from the air.
As the metallic reflection of the moon glimmered off the metal broadhead arrow Liam's senses were forced to work overtime. Mind and body formed in cohesive movement as he raised his sword with both hands he calmed his breathing.
Watching as the arrow flew toward him he readied his sword toward the arrow. Tilting his blade at a slight angle in intention of diverting the attack.
Metal clashed metal and as a horrid sound reached his ears and as sparks flew, he successfully diverted the arrow away from him.
Collecting himself Liam stared ahead at the bright wide eyes of the unkempt man in front of him.
"Must be a first for you right Tethyr?"
"Ho—-"
Rushing forward Liam sprinted toward Tethyr who was momentarily caught off guard.
Struggling to pull back the string of his bow he hurriedly placed an arrow from his quiver before releasing another at Liam who was within fifteen feet of him.
Liam was too close to deflect the arrow once again so he twisted his body as he slashed forward intent to slash at Tethyr.
Unfortunately Liam was not able to fulfill his intention because as the arrow pierced his hand he was forced to drop his sword.
Tethyr took a few steps back before reading another arrow, watching as Liam dropped to the ground.
Grabbing his dagger he threw it directly at his left shoulder and as the piercing grunt of pain came from Tethyr, Liam pulled the arrow from his now bleeding hand.
Discarding the arrow he threw it to the ground as he rushed forward toward Tethyr tackling him into the ground.
Dagger still stuck in his shoulder Liam gripped the handle and yanked it down cutting through veins, muscles and bone.
Tethyr's screams of pain left Liam with a smile on his face.
However before Liam could strip him of his weapons he heard footsteps behind him and whipped his head around to look at the perpetrator.
Lurue's heart broke at the sight of Liam standing over Tethyr's body and as Liam's battered body filled her sight she stared toward him readying her bow in a crucial decision which would change the rest of her life.
Watching as a determined look washed over Lurue's face, Liam stared at the once temporary companion he had as she raised her weapon at him. With no weapons on his body Liams fate rested in Lurue's hands.
Glancing behind him, time seemed to slow as Tethyrs bow was trained at his head with an arrow drawn back.
Anger filled his body and as the flames of fire raged within him quelled only by the chilling words from Lurue.
"Trust me"
Leaving his life to Lurue he decided to trust another other than himself one last time.
