Chantal's engagement was scheduled for two months later, coinciding with her fiance's adulthood ceremony.
"The time is just right for me to return after the students' military training. If the man is ordinary, I will give him assurance and respect. If the man is outstanding, I will live with ease and communicate well. But if he's a scumbag, I will skin him alive and break his legs."
With preparations complete, she settled into the military warship. Warm welcomes from former subordinates marked her arrival, but a concern arose.
"Major General Qin!"
"Dean Qin!"
Along with some academy instructors, she received a hospitable welcome from those who had once been under her command on the battlefield.
"Dean Qin, we have a little concern," a man with a two-star badge appeared beside her.
"What's the matter?"
"Major General Yunho will be boarding the ship later. He wanted to inform you that the Federation will use the warship after dropping everyone on planet Celine. Astraflame requested support since a new organization of interstellar thieves appeared on their planet and has suffered several losses since last week."
"Tell Major General Yunho that the academy will allow all permissions in his hands after dropping everyone, but remind him that if an emergency arises, the ship's control system will automatically return to Celine for rescue. The program is beyond my control, and only the Admiral has the power to manipulate it."
That night, Chantal decided to visit the control panel room. The silent corridors and dim lights added an air of mystery as she strolled through the warship.
An unusual presence in the area abruptly heightened Chantal's senses. Halting her steps, she closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and methodically counted to three before extending her mental awareness to its outermost limits.
Intriguingly, she mused, 'Intruders and assassins are impossible to board the ship, but I couldn't deny the intense killing intent. Who could be wandering this late hour?' She lightly licked her lips, allowing a subtle smirk to play on her face, while her eyes underwent a noticeable transformation, shifting to a vibrant shade of green.
Without warning, Chantal vanished from her initial position and appeared at the control panel in a flash. Upon entering the room, she found the soldiers engrossed in monitoring various sections of the ship.
"Dean Qin!"
"I need to check on something," she said, asking the monitoring team to send her a copy of the monitoring videos.
"Did you lose something, Dean Qin?"
"I did. Anyway, were there no problems inside the ship? Are the students all in their sleeping quarters?"
"The staff and the students have all gone back, Dean Qin. We are also confident that no harm can befall us with you and Major General Yunho on board!"
Chantal nodded, bolstering the morale of the patrolling crew, and silently retraced her steps to her quarters. However, an unshakable feeling persisted that someone was trailing her. While she had never encountered Major General Yunho before, her shared rank with him provided little reason for doubt. The mysterious entity trailing her must be someone else.
Anticipating a confrontation, she waited for the shadow to reveal itself, but no one appeared until she reached her room. Sealing the door of her suite, consisting of a small living room, a kitchen, and three bedrooms, she decided to lock all the doors and confine herself to one room for the night.
In her deep slumber, oblivious to the surroundings, Chantal would have astonished anyone who witnessed her serene state. On the battlefield, such sweet sleep would have been inconceivable, yet tonight, she was completely unconscious. The door opened, and a wispy white smoke accompanied the intruder, causing the bedroom lights to flicker off.
The only source of illumination was the tiny window, through which the full moon cast a gentle glow on Chantal's figure as she slept. Four paws stealthily ascended onto the bed, and a creature lay beside her, observing her every breath. Just as Chantal awoke and quickly pinned it down, the creature leaned down to inhale her scent out of an irresistible attraction.
Startled, Chantal found herself face-to-face with a white wolf adorned with blue eyes reminiscent of the sun reflecting on the ocean. "Who are you?"
Chantal knew of various mutated tribes in the interstellar galaxy, families with hybrid ancestors possessing both human and beastly blood. The Wolf clan, renowned for their ability to shift and fight in animal forms, was considered the strongest. However, she had never encountered a white wolf before.
A misty white smoke enveloped the room, and relying on her mental prowess, Chantal discerned the outline of the wolf, now shifting back into human form. The man's face remained elusive, but his piercing blue eyes were unmistakable. "Why are you targeting me?"
The man chuckled, swiftly reversing their positions. This time, Chantal found herself pinned to the bed as he grinned, saying, "Hello, mate."
Chantal's eyes widened in disbelief. "Impossible!"
The man slowly leaned down, his breath tinged with tension as he inhaled the delicate scent emanating from Chantal's neck. A tender kiss sent shivers down her spine, though amidst the fluttering sensations, she wrestled with an urgent realization: "I can't allow this man to end my life!" Her thoughts raced, trying to maintain focus in the face of impending danger.
"I have been searching for you for a long time, my love. But you never appeared. What should I do to you now that I've found you?" He murmured with an air of possessiveness.
"Stop it!" Chantal pleaded, her voice tinged with desperation.
"Why should I stop? Tonight was the only night I could control this body. It's my chance to claim what's rightfully mine!" He declared, his words dripping with an unnerving certainty.
Suddenly, Chantal felt her neck dampen, the unmistakable scent of blood enveloping the air. A unique sensation coursed through her as the man sank his canines into her skin, eliciting a soft moan from her lips and leaving an indelible mark on her chest.
"My love, you need to bear my mark!" he insisted.
The room's temperature seemed to surge, defying the cool setting she had chosen before sleeping. Uncontrollable sensations gripped her, making her feel as though she were engulfed in flames. 'I feel like I'm on fire!' she thought, struggling against the mysterious force taking hold of her body.
As the man continued his advances, exploring forbidden places with an unsettling familiarity, Chantal couldn't muster the revulsion one might expect. It was as if an evil enchantment had seized control, rendering her strangely compliant.
