Amy looked over her progress. In an impressive short amount of time, she finished everything. Her knowledge in her original life has already made her leap far into more advanced learning at her current age. She didn't know that when pressured by time, she could actually cram all this knowledge. It makes her wonder even more on what her original life is like. Was she a scholar in her original life?
Amy stretched and yawned then looked at the clock. In two hours, she has to attend her etiquette lesson. She can sleep for a bit until she arrives. "Alright, time to-"
Then there was a hard rap at her door before it opened. It was Anna again.
"Miss!" she screamed, "Miss Violet says that Prince Leon is here!"
Amy slammed her hands on the table. "Are you kidding me?!" Amy check her window and saw the royal carriage. She grit her teeth. "I am way too sleep deprived for this. Fucking—" but stopped herself. "I'll go ahead and meet him. Please tell Ms. Marianne that the lesson is cancelled due to an unexpected visitor."
"Right away." she says.
Amy went down to see Viola waiting by.
"Why on earth is he here?" Amy said.
"I don't know. Maybe he can't take no for an answer?" Viola guessed.
"God. This kid." Amy murmured. She is far too tired and pissed to think straight.
The door finally opened and both Leon and, strangely enough, Rufus came in.
"Greetings to the Rising St-"
"Enough with the formalities already. It's just us!" Leon interrupts irritably then stares at them.
Amy drops her courteous facade and glared at him. "What brings you here, Leon?"
"You rejected my invite!" He says in fake sadness.
"We need to catch up with our lessons." Viola impatiently said while pinching her nose. "We don't always do physical training. Don't you have regular lessons too?"
"Of course I do." he then looks around and whispers, "I am a fast learner. I finished everything before I got here."
"I have a hard time believing that." Viola irritably says.
Rufus smiles sheepishly. "Believe it or not. We've already finished our lessons. We're both fast learners."
Amy says nothing because both are telling the truth.
"Why are you here?" Amy repeated maintaining her grumpy expression.
"What's wrong with friends coming over?"
Still didn't answer the question.
"It is barely eleven in the morning and none of us had breakfast yet." Viola groaned.
"Really? How come?" Rufus worriedly asked. At least he seems sincere.
"We had to put off our lessons because of you. We needed to catch up." Amy groaned. "I haven't slept at all last night because of the lesson plans I've put aside."
"No wonder you look so grumpy." Leon murmured.
"It's all your fault." Amy groaned.
One of these days, instead of trying to save Leon, she might as well end him herself.
"Oh well, let's all eat together!" Leon says.
"Fine, but don't complain if the food isn't to your liking." Viola said and whispered to a nearby servant who scurried off.
"Oh wow! Is this you guys?" Rufus says in soft amazement. Rufus has quite a soft voice when he speaks in the show. It also shows here as well.
The twins turn their head towards the boys who are observing the family portrait. It was taken when they were babies, back then when their hair colors are swapped.
"Vivi looks so calm and Armor Ryllis looks like she might jump. You guys are totally swapped." Leon laughed. "I can't imagine you guys switching personalities."
Armor Ryllis? Just why does he come up with these nicknames? Then again, at least she's not called Kitty like Sabina.
The girls remain stoic. "You're wrong. We didn't switch personalities." Viola said and pointed at the picture with a tired eye. "Just look at the eyes."
They seem to notice that the eyes are different.
"Wait, what?"
"We were born with each other's hair color. It changed as we grew older." Amy noted.
These open jawed shocked reaction of those single brain celled idiots are priceless. It seems to get everyone's shocked every time. Even Viola is secretly enjoying it.
"So you were born with green hair," Leon pointed to Amy then at Viola, "and you were born with black hair?" he says in disbelief.
"Indigo," Viola corrected. "But yes."
"That would explain why you were named Violet." Rufus murmured.
"Actually-"
Before any of them could correct him, they heard a nearby bell.
"Breakfast is ready." Viola said and the four of them head to the dining hall where a surprisingly large amount of food is waiting for them.
Viola must have told the cooks on what to make.
There are waffles with powdered sugar, a bowl of cream, butter on the side, bowls of mixed fruit, omelets, milk and some other things. Viola has taken note of their preferences and despite her feelings against them, she at least took note of their home's hospitality for them. Rufus likes savory foods while Leon has a sweet tooth.
Both guys started digging in while the girls, who remember their manners, started eating it delicately.
Another things that Amy learned is that both boys are voracious appetites. In addition to being physically active, it would explain their tall heights in their adulthood. A fun fact that Amy learned about Rufus is that he is a picky eater but that is mostly because his powers often leave a bad taste in his mouth so he eats anything savory to remove it and he doesn't like sweets which he notes makes the bad taste worse.
"By the way, I cancelled etiquette class." Amy whispered.
"Oh thank heavens." Viola says in relief before becoming worried again, "Wouldn't mother-"
"We have an excuse. We have the prince and his friend here." she whispered.
*
Amy and Viola head to the training hall where Leon brandishes a spear and tries to throw it at the target only to end up destroying the spear before it even reaches the target.
This is what he's working with. His magic is so explosive that if he tries to use it to power up his weapons, they explode. How many times does this make it now?
"I keep telling you to think of your magic like a gentle wave. You are putting too much force into it." Amy lectures impatiently.
Leon is a fast learner NOT. He is clearly struggling with using magic. He is gonna struggle when he enrolls in school in two years. But then again, she can't blame him. His original self has trouble with it. Even Rufus has a similar problem when it comes to his magic as it is more unstable and is more likely to hurt himself than hurt others.
"Oh my!"
The kids look to see their mother watch on with horror. There is a mess in the hall and a lot of broken and splintered objects.
"Mother, I-"
Then she curtsied in front of Leon.
"Greetings to the Rising Star of Solin. I am Clarissa Anthos."
Leon stared at the woman. "Your girls resemble you." he commented. "I thought you look familiar. I see you with mother sometimes."
She then got up. "Yes, I am her Majesty's lady-in-waiting."
He nodded then stared devilishly at the girls. "No kidding."
Damn this kid. Amy cursed under her breath.
"I'll talk to mother." Amy said and led her out.
Clarissa looked at Amy with an understanding look. "No wonder you cancelled your etiquette lesson." she said in disbelief. "Prince Leon is here."
"He invited himself, mother."
"I can see that." she said. "All those invites are already too much now this..."
"We'll persuade him to go back as soon as possible and stop contacting us at least until the Winter Ball."
"I know he is impatient but why does he wish to see you two?"
Amy sighed in response, "He needs help with something and wants me to help him at every turn."
"You have to be careful, dear. People talk."
Amy nodded, "I understand, mother."
