"So," the Goddess of Wrath sighs. "Can't take him on too?"
"I guess not," Varvara sighs.
The Goddess chuckles, analyzing the Hero of Neutrality's stat sheet. She shakes her head in disappointment, glaring at her selected hero.
"You need to do better than this," she scolds. "His stats are inferior to you, at least render him unconscious."
Varvara looks down in disappointment, saddened by her goddess' statement. Walking away from her, Varvara silently vows to hunt down the Hero of Neutrality.
All the Heroes Association enters the former president's room. The Hero of Equilibrium sits in the seat of the new president, sighing at the news given to them.
"The Hero of Light has escaped us," The Hero of Equilibrium mutters.
The other heroes sit solemnly, slowly attempting to digest the news. The Hero of Peace stands up and stretches before staring at him.
"Well, weren't we supposed to ensure this doesn't happen?" the snarks. "Even the great Hero of Equilibrium couldn't stop her from leaving the Association."
The Heroes stand up to confront each other, their aura suffocates the other attendants of the meeting. Lava-orange eyes silence the opposing auras. The Hero of Equilibrium sits up from his chair, silently commanding the tempo to cool off.
Varvara applauds his outburst, snickering as she lies back in her seat.
"On to a Heroes Association cleanse, Mr. Sial?" she snarks.
"Varvara, calm down," Mr. Sial commands.
Fear seeps into the association, and the Hero's gaze tests their loyalty. Mr. Sial looks around then sits back down.
"I have an excellent idea," Mr Sial chuckles. "How about a tournament to see who stays and joins the Heroes Association!"
Everyone glances at the door as three heroes enter the meeting room. Their footsteps send minor shockwaves throughout the meeting hall. Varvara and her squad grin as the meeting guests sit in front of them.
"Mr Seisance," The Hero of Equilibrium says. "Will you proctor this tournament with me?"
Zane gets up and sighs, not interested in being a proctor at all.
"Do I have to?" Zane whines. "I'd rather practice my skills with someone."
Mr. Sial nods to his question, adjusting his glasses to minimize the after-effects of his equilibrium eyes. He dismisses the meeting, silently asking the trio to speak with him privately.
Mr Sial: "You're proctoring for a specific reason."
Zane: "And that reason is?"
Mr Sial: "We know some of them are going to cheat their way to the top. It's always been this way every time a tournament for their positions comes about."
Astelia leans on the wall and listens from outside. Lumina comes back with popcorn, offering some to Astelia.
"So, how are you feeling about this?" Astelia asks with concern.
Lumina sighs, taking her time to think her response through. Conflicting thoughts battle in her mind before she comes to an answer.
"I don't want to participate in this tournament," Lumina responds. "It's a waste of time to embarrass everyone."
"Well, I don't think that is what's happening. I think we three are going to proctor and watch from the background to spot anyone doing malicious things."
Lumina stretches as Zane finishes the meeting. They all leave the hall under the watchful eyes of Mr. Sial and Dona.
"I know you're watching, Dona Morte."
The Hero of Darkness slithers to present herself to The Hero of Equilibrium. Shadows bloom as she looks to the exiting trio.
Dona: "You need me to help proctor as well?"
Mr. Sial: "I guess you can read minds after all."
Dona: "Just as long as my Zane is okay and not in the clutches of any rancid woman, I'm okay."
Mr. Sial waves her goodbye as the shadows transport her to another location. Trying to hold his excitement, he chuckles, realizing what a gold mine he has created with this announcement.
Zane gets back to the hotel room and instantly falls asleep. Lumina sighs as she throws a pillow to his sleeping face. Akali appears on his shoulder, trying to figure out what's happening.
"So, he's proctoring a tournament," Akali sighs. "I don't buy it at all."
"Me neither," a frustrated Astelia grumbles as she sits next to Zane. "Something fishy is happening with that Heroes Association. I don't trust them one bit."
"I think the same way," Akali replies as she stretches. "Did this sleepy head agree to proctor it?"
"He only said he'll do it under one condition," Astelia snarks. "Never told us what that reason was."
Lumina tosses away the empty bowl of popcorn and pets Akali with her finger. Her flustered tantrum humors Lumina as she twirls around like a ballet teacher.
"Isn't the reason obvious at this point?" Lumina taunts. "It's to ensure Margot's retirement is submitted through."
"Doing it for the former President's sake," Akali grumbles. "What a pussy."
Margot enters the room, smiling angrily at Akali's comment. She summons a golden whip, holding an evil smile.
"What did you just call him, Ms. Akali?" Margot demands. "I just want to know, per a friend's request."
"N-nothing, Margot," Akali quivers. "I called Zane a strong soul! Yeah!"
Lumina's laughter releases into the room, unable to hold it in much longer. Akali and Margot both turn to the laughing woman, readying their weapons.
Margot: "Seems that someone finds this humorous. Why don't we teach this one a lesson, shall we, Akali?"
Akali: "I agree, Hero of Light. We should teach this one some manners."
Lumina: "Aye, chill. AYE CHILL!"
Akali and Margot chase after Lumina, waking up Zane from his nap. He groans loudly and wipes his eyes.
"Can you guys just SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Zane shouts. "A brother trying to sleep, and you guys are out here bothering my dreamy time! Damn!"
As the ladies harassing Lumina turn to him, he summons a minigun with a smile on his face.
"We can gladly play this game if you want to," Zane chuckles. "I got enough spite to do it."
Astelia groans and leaves the hotel room, leaving the raging quartet to raise the price of rent of living there.
