"Who or what are you?"
Victor stands face to face with the powerful entity, his curiosity overriding his fear. His eye's adjust to the poorly lit area and he is able to see the entity more clearly. Long jet black hair, fair skin, defined athletic body, a dark haze covers his body and piercing green eye's like emeralds.
"Why would I bother explaining myself to a lowly human?"
"I'm guessing you will because I'm probably the first person you've seen in a long while. Not to mention when something interests me I tend to become quite a pest so the choice is your's."
"Hahaha. Well that's the first time I've had someone talk that way to me. Alright you've got my attention. I am the Primordial Dark Shadow, a entity that was responsible for part of this world's creation. I was one of the more powerful primordials but the other's didn't take kindly to me flaunting my power. As a result they imprisoned me to an eternity of darkness, devoid of light and life."
"Hmmm that sounds like quite the sob story, but you're hiding something. Why would a primordial of all beings make like they were done in? Surely you wouldn't be exiled here for just flaunting your power, you probably tried to upset the balance of power through a struggle or similar."
"Well, well, well, it would seem I've misjudged your intellect, you're very perceptive for a human. My name is Dark Shadow, I was imprisoned here for disobeying the order of the supreme god. He ordered us to wipe out countries all over the world, but I was ambitious. I tried to take over governing power from the weaker deities to strengthen my own, sadly the other's caught wind of this and trapped me. I was before the supreme god and he handed down my punishment, but before I was sent here he whispered; Your time will come."
"That sounds more believable. So why was I told to come free you?"
"What do you mean?"
"A woman's voice inside my head told me I need to free you in order to get closer to fulfilling my destiny. It's not the first time, her voice has been with me since my path was revealed. "
"A woman you say? Could it be her I wonder?"
"Who?"
"Not going to tell you until I'm certain, but take to heart what I'm about to say; Your life has been chained to a fate far worse than death itself. Thinking about it makes me shiver with anticipation."
"Just what are you talking about? What fate? Tell me now!"
" Let's make a deal, if you are able to release me from these chains I swear on my life as a primordial to form a binding contract with you. Will you consider my offer?"
"What's the catch for me?"
"I will inhabit your body as a spirit and teach you how to wield my powers in harmony with your own. But it does come with dangers, if one of us gets killed the other dies too and if we break the contract we will still die, there is no going back once we have made the contract."
"Very well I will accept your proposal, but if you try anything that does me in I will personally break our contract. Understand??"
"So be it young boy."
"The names Victor by the way, Victor Bloodgrave but im currently living as Benjamine Fellowing. Pleasure to be working with you Dark Shadow."
Victor closely examines the chains binding Shadow, looking for a release mechanism or a weak link but finds nothing. After what feels like hour's Victor arrives at an oddly shaped mound with beautiful gemstones embedded around the indent of a hand. He places his hand inside the indentation and brilliant gold veins begin to light up and illuminate the entire room. The veins slowly make their way to the chains binding Shadow and they start to weaken.
"Well I most certainly didn't expect that to happen. Time to check up on Mr Primordial."
Shadow begins breaking the chains one by one, slowly releasing himself. Once he's free, he attacks Victor out of the blue knocking him down.
"C'mon little boy, show me you are worthy to be my master."
A fierce clash breaks out between the two with spells being countered and dodged. Victor uses every asset he has to try and beat Shadow but every attempt fails. Shadow fires off a spell that engulfs Victor in a cloud of pure darkness, immobilizing him.
"Behold as you are consumed by pure darkness thinking you stood a chance against me, THE PRIMORDIAL DARK SHADOW HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Now I can proceed with my old plans and no one can stop me."
Victor finds himself in a vast darkness with no light. He slowly begins to fade just as he feels two warm hands embrace his face. He looks up to see his mother right before his eye's.
"Mother? Why are you here? I thought you died years ago?"
"I did, but this isn't where you're meant to die. I don't have a lot of time so I'll make this quick. You have the potential to rival the gods with your gifts even destroy them, but you're holding yourself back over my death. Do not fear for you are far more powerful than I ever was."
"So as your mother I ask one last thing of you. Reach out with all your strength and take hold of the small fraction of power you were born with. Show that stuck up primordial why you deserve to be his master. I love you so much and you have grown up to be a great young man, I couldn't ask for more. Goodbye my love."
"Mother, no, please come back."
Through teary eye's Victor sees a light in the distance and starts reaching for it. By accepting his mother's death and letting it go, he grasps the light firmly in his hand and is suddenly enveloped breaking Shadows spell. Shadow turns around and is suprised to see young Victor standing before him surrounded by light energy.
"Impossible. How were you able to break out of my prison spell?"
