Chapter 11 - Snake Shadow

At this moment, Evelyn looked as pale as paper.

Surrounded by a pack of wolves, she was frightened, her legs turning weak. Even with Goliath's protection, the fear on her face was hard to conceal.

"Evelyn, Your Highness, please be careful."

Goliath said solemnly, wielding his twin swords to fend off the two approaching azure wolves. He remained vigilant, scanning the surroundings.

If it were just a group of frenzied wild beasts, Goliath would have been more than capable of handling them. Red Knight Myrcella had already gone to deal with the mountain berserker bear, and once that battle was over, wiping out the wolf pack would be no difficult task.

However, a sense of unease lingered in Goliath's mind.

The ominous beasts in the birch forest had collectively gone mad, causing a surge of creatures. It was evidently not a random occurrence but likely orchestrated by someone behind the scenes.

"Who could it be?"

Goliath's eyes flickered. Just as he contemplated this, he suddenly felt a palpitation in his heart. He turned abruptly, looking behind him.

Not far away, two silhouettes had silently approached.

"Be careful!"

Goliath's complexion changed. Disregarding the Azure Wolves around him, the power of a Knight erupted as he swiftly rushed to Evelyn's side.

It was evident that the two individuals were coming for Evelyn.

Wearing the attire of Holy Splendor Academy, they masked their faces, and their weapons were poisoned, resembling two poisonous snakes attacking Evelyn.

"Get lost!"

Goliath roared angrily, both swords slashing out and directly repelling the three assailants.

However, this momentary confrontation caused a sinking feeling in Goliath. The two assassins who appeared before him were unexpectedly Knights as well.

"This complicates things!"

Goliath's expression turned grim. Dealing with two Knights was a challenge, even for him. If he tried to protect Evelyn at the same time, it would become even more difficult.

Before Goliath could think further, the two assassins attacked again.

"Break the Army of Thousands!"

Goliath gritted his teeth, forced to deal with the two assassins first, holding them back to prevent them from approaching Evelyn.

Meanwhile, seeing this situation, Evelyn's face grew even paler.

"We can only buy time!"

Goliath's thoughts flickered. Handling two assassins simultaneously put a tremendous pressure on him. But as long as he persisted and waited for the support of the Red Knight, everything could be resolved.

However, at this critical moment, while Goliath was entangled with the two assassins, another silhouette emerged from the forest, silently approaching Evelyn like a poisonous snake.

"Not good!"

Goliath's pupils contracted. At the same time, Evelyn also sensed something. Just as she turned around, she saw a masked assassin rushing towards her.

"Evelyn, Your Highness!"

Goliath roared loudly. However, at this moment, he was already tightly engaged with the two assassins, and he could only watch as the third assassin approached Evelyn.

Swish!

In this perilous moment, a sound of breaking air suddenly echoed!

An arrow, originating from an unknown source, pierced through the third assassin's throat. Blood spurted out, and the body collapsed to the ground.

Evelyn stood there, almost forgetting to breathe.

At the same time, Sauron once again bent his bow and placed an arrow, aiming at the other two assassins. With two light sounds, the double arrows shot towards them.

However, this time, the two assassins were already on guard.

Therefore, even though Sauron comprehended precision shooting, the arrows missed their mark, and his position was exposed to the assassins.

"What a pity!"

Sauron shook his head. No matter how precise his arrow technique was, facing Knights of the same level made it difficult to be effective once the opponents were vigilant.

Immediately, Sauron jumped down from the tree.

Without much ado, he quickly arrived at Evelyn's side, shielding her behind him and staring at the two assassins.

These two individuals were dressed in Academy's leather armor but were clearly not from Holy Splendor Academy.

"You deal with this kid; I'll go after the target!"

The two assassins exchanged glances, then immediately took action. One of them engaged Goliath, while the other, a shorter assassin, rushed directly towards Evelyn.

On the spot, Sauron's eyes showed a trace of calmness.

Facing a Knight of the same level for the first time, he didn't have much combat experience. However, when it came to his Armybreak Swordsmanship, he had some confidence.

"Hold on for 3 minutes!"

At this moment, Goliath said solemnly: "Once I deal with this guy, I'll come over to help you."

While speaking, he had already engaged in combat with the assassin. As a talented Knight from Holy Splendor Academy, Goliath completely dominated the situation in a one-on-one fight.

On the other side, Sauron also wielded his cross swords.

The shorter assassin was agile, using a double-edged rapier that was as sharp as a bee's sting with each strike.

Swish, swish!

Sauron remained composed, relying on his Armybreak Swordsmanship to block the successive attacks, protecting Evelyn from harm.

In less than a minute, the opposing assassin's movements became disorderly.

Having attacked for a long time without any success, the pressure on him increased. If he didn't kill the target soon, his own fate wouldn't be pleasant.

"Damn brat!"

The shorter assassin, frustrated, suddenly thrust his rapier, but Sauron blocked it. At the same time, the sounds of his companion's screams echoed from behind.

Goliath's face showed a faint sneer.

Then, he quickly approached, and together with Sauron, they surrounded the shorter assassin. The assassin's eyes became increasingly displeased.

"Leave one alive," Goliath said solemnly.

"Got it!" Sauron nodded.

"Go to hell!"

At this moment, the shorter assassin

suddenly shrieked, tossing a cloud of white powder and swiftly turning to escape like a monkey.

"Hmph! Trying to run?"

Goliath coldly snorted and immediately chased after him. However, after just a few steps, a red silhouette appeared from the forest. A punch from Red Knight Myrcella sent the shorter assassin flying.

Bang!

After receiving a punch from Myrcella, the shorter assassin spat out blood, falling motionless to the ground. Several ribs in his chest seemed to be broken.

Sauron's heart moved.

Myrcella's appearance seemed to indicate that the mountain berserker bear had been killed. This was quite normal, considering Myrcella was a high-level Knight. An adult mountain berserker bear, even if driven into a frenzied state, could at most contend with an intermediate-level Knight. Myrcella might spend a bit more time dealing with it, but that was all.

"Who sent you?"

Myrcella stepped forward, stepping on the assassin's head, her tone carrying a hint of icy coldness, as if a bit more force could crush the opponent's skull.

"Heh!"

The shorter assassin lifted his head, a trace of mockery in his eyes. Immediately, he pulled off his mask, revealing a gray-black complexion.

Myrcella slightly frowned.

The next moment, the shorter assassin's eyes gradually lost their luster, evidently having poisoned himself, and Myrcella's expression became even more gloomy.

"Myrcella, they are members of 'Snake Shadow'!"

On the other side, Goliath examined the bodies of the other two assassins and found snake tattoos on them.
