They sat under a tree, having lunch and many conversations together. They were slightly starting to get used to each other. Levi though was still very reserved about what to let people know about himself.
"This is very good Lucy, thank you." It was just bread and jam but for some reason, it tasted better than anything he'd ever had.
He watched as Scarlet ran around, trying to catch butterflies that alluded her on every turn. But it wasn't in her to give up. She was too resilient for a five year old, Levi had no doubt in his mind she'll grow up to be a beast.
"Have you thought about training her?"
"Gods no, she's too young. Gi would rip her to shreds...that and it isn't allowed. Too many kids in the past couldn't survive the pressure, succumbed and turned." Ryan quickly put a lid on it, wanting to spend as much time with his daughter as possible—and they didn't have that long.
