Chapter 854 - Chapter 581: Dead Memories Suddenly Attack Me (Part 3)_3

Superman desires to help everyone equally. When one reaches the extreme of selflessness, they become unshakeable.

Therefore, no matter how Teige tempts, entices, or persuades, Clark feels he cannot comply.

Finally, Teige loses his patience. He pulls out an oddly shaped device from his suitcase and puts it on his head. It somewhat resembles a hat, but it is more of an apparatus, with a string of bulbs that glow around the top.

It's a Brainwave Controller that Teige has developed. Not only does it work in the Dreamworld, but it also syncs and functions in the real world.

Teige uses his brainwaves to control it. When he opens the Brainwave Controller in the Dreamworld, the real-world controller locates the brainwaves Teige is currently connected to and enters their consciousness space to alter their memories.

Everything goes smoothly at first. The Brainwave Controller in the real world successfully locates Clark's brainwaves and enters his consciousness space.

As mentioned before, when Shiller sent these two into the subconscious minds of Batman and Superman, they ventured downwards from their Thought Palace into the Kingdom of Dreams, and then traced their way to the consciousnesses of Superman and Batman before directly entering into their subconscious, thereby bypassing their conscious thoughts.

However, Teige's Brainwave Controller can't do that. When it enters someone's consciousness space, it directly engages with their conscious mind, which is incredibly susceptible to disturbance.

Clark was sleeping soundly in his dorm room and even having a dream. But when the Brainwave Controller entered his consciousness, his consciousness began to stir.

Normally, if one's consciousness becomes active, it would mean they are transitioning from sleep to wakefulness. However, the hypnotic function of the Brainwave Controller continuously soothes Clark's brainwaves, preventing him from waking up.

But as his super brain becomes more and more active, the massive amount of information stored therein also starts to stir. With his consciousness constantly soothed and sunk in dreams, this massive information, having nowhere else to go, begins following the only open pathway...

When all of the redundant information from Superman's brain floods into Teige's mind through the Brainwave Controller's channel, he has no chance to resist; all his conscious space fills rapidly with useless information.

How vast is the amount of information stored in Superman's brain? So vast that even a glance would make Shiller dizzy.

Clark's use of his super brain is rather basic. He hasn't learnt how to process and filter information, only how to store it. All the information he has seen since birth is stored in his brain, even the minutest details, such as a speck of dust on a coffee table or a grain of soil in a field.

According to computer principles, having one's system abruptly filled with so much information can indeed be deemed an invasion or attack.

Teige's conscious space collapses instantly, but his strength lies in his study of his own consciousness space.

The Rabbit Hole in the backyard of the Fairy Tale Manor, in fact, leads to Teige's subconscious, just like the hole Shiller digs on the ground floor of his Thought Palace.

Realizing his conscious space is beyond rescue, Teige dives desperately into his subconscious through the Rabbit Hole.

It could be said that the situation is still salvageable at this point. Just clearing out those pieces of information would solve the problem, or so Teige thought.

However, as his personality sinks into his subconscious, his conscious space is no longer active; hence his brainwave activity also stops, making any further control of the Brainwave Controller impossible. Hence, the hypnosis on Clark also stops.

Clark doesn't use his super brain, but that doesn't mean he has no control over his consciousness space, like ordinary humans do. On the brink of awakening in the real world, he senses an invasion in his brain.

So instead of waking up, he sinks into his consciousness space to investigate what's going on. At this moment, the brainwave channel the Brainwave Controller has opened hasn't closed yet. Clark follows this channel straight to Teige's conscious space.

Upon discovering that it's filled with his own memories, Clark assumes someone has stolen his memories. Hence, he begins searching for the perpetrator on the conscious level, eventually finding the Rabbit Hole.

Without giving it much thought, Clark jumps straight down the Rabbit Hole and encounters Teige, who just sought refuge there.

Clark, at the conscious level, isn't aware of who Teige is. But Teige knows full well the wrongs he's committed. On seeing Clark approaching, he immediately turns tail and runs. Seeing him take off, Clark knows he's guilty and so pursues him.

It's impossible for Teige to outrun Clark and, in no time, Clark is about to catch up to him. Now, if Teige wants to hide, he's left with only one path to take.

When Shiller came to pick up Hugo and Teige to take them to Batman and Superman's conscious spaces, the path he took was the one that leads to the Kingdom of Dreams. That is, a passageway was carved upwards from the Kingdom of Dreams.

In other words, there is currently a hole at the bottom of Teige and Hugo's subconscious that leads directly to the Kingdom of Dreams.

With nowhere else to run or hide, Teige has no choice but to leap through the hole. He's aware that at the bottom of the hole lies a magical realm. As long as he can enter that realm and find a place to hide, he may be safe.
