I leave and start heading for the soul theory class.
I take a seat at the same place I was sitting last time, and of course, nobody stained my great presence by sitting next to me, thank goodness.
The teacher walked in and actually introduced herself this time. Apparently, her name is Rose Ashton, and she's been teaching here for about 30 years.
She gets straight on to the listen, I'm thankful that she doesn't care about some random nobles' names, unlike the magic instructor, and I also find it funny that some of the students actually seem outraged about this.
Anyways she starts talking about what we have to go through to actually be capable of casting spells and feel our imprinted mana.
"The first step of making yourself ready for spell casting, is to start sensing your soul. Sensing your soul is not as easy as you would expect. Even though the soul is a part of your body, sensing it normally is impossible because it is simply not connected to your brain or spinal cord in any way.
The only piece of your soul that is connected to your physical bodies is the mana cipher. When the mana cipher starts to produce imprinted elements it will connect to the bodes fat reserves.
And after the mana cipher connects the soul and body, your mind will be capable of sensing the soul through the mana cipher at a very shallow level.
The second step is to open a permanent passage between the brain stems of the soul and the body.
In your partial observational state, you can just about barely control any imprinted mana. You must slowly but surely remove all the imprinted mana in the location of the brain stem and connect the structure to your body's brain. The imprinted mana rushes through the brain which slowly and surely starts to get used to it. At this point, you must be unconscious, or else you will experience many effects like splitting headaches or seizures.
After enough time passes, the imprinted mana intertwines with the body's neurological structures, and the soul's perception becomes a newfound sixth sense of your body.
The third step is all about controlling the imprinted mana in your body. To gain better control of your imprinted mana, you must simply practice and plug your senses into your mana core, as the mana core controls the flow of the imprinted mana.
You will slowly get better and better at controlling your mana to the point where you can create mana breaches in your soul by will, within 3 seconds.
The fourth and final step is making permanent mana breaches in all of your fingers. This is because spellcasting is done solely by hand."
The teacher also said that we will go through the soul's layout and inner workings this year, because pulling off any of the steps requires a lot of work and knowledge.
After that, she asked us all to turn in the assignment that she gave us, and shockingly a solid third of the idiots in the class didn't have it written. And even more annoyingly the teacher didn't look surprised about this. This means many of the dimwits learning in the academy, are not working to become wizards.
This very much annoys me, but stupid people will be stupid, and plus the teachers may be more kind to me because I actually do my homework.
The period ended and she gave us another assignment.
The day continued as planned, I go to the cafeteria, feed Ustos, meat the dimwits, and get berated by fifth-grader insults, but as I am returning to the dorms, I think of an ingenious way to figure out what Ustosis's actual signature is.
It is as simple as it is beautiful, just ask Ustos to write it down again, he has probably already forgotten the fake signature he gave me. But just in case, I will wait a while longer for him to forget even further.
For now, I will go to the library, do my assignment, and practice using a quill. It is just so annoying to learn to use a quill, can't someone invent magic quills or something I mean we are in a magic academy.
I return home and use Ustos as an audio-to-word converter, after which I return to the library for a bit of personal research. This time it's about healing magic, this is one of the most important reasons I came to this academy, because I need to heal my graceful face to its original splendure.
Basically, healing is done by copying the layout of the soul, healers use the fact that a soul's structure is copied from the layout of the body exactly. And with the soul as a guide, they use a spell to grow back the flesh.
Annoyingly for me, the healing must happen soon after the injury, because of the fact that the soul tries to imitate the layout of the body at a constant rate, so the soul will slowly change its shape to include whatever changes the body may have.
