Hui Lang vigilantly gazed around the room. It was a dingy two-bedroom apartment with a small kitchen. The rooms were smaller than his bathtub, but thankfully, it was clean. His shiny black eyes then focused on the two people in the middle of the room. Both were eating sunflower seeds and watching some random drama.
"Angels..."
They were just mythical creatures to some, but to him, they were a nightmare. Ever since his youth, he had been traumatized by one waiting by his bedside.
Hui Lang rolled his eyes.
"Why was this angel always by my side? Is he really my guardian angel?"
He scooted a bit closer to take a look at his face again. From his angle, he was not even able to look up.
"A pig's body is such a hassle..."
Sighing, he climbed onto an old chair and peered at his otherworldly face.
The young man had a straight nose with soft pink cheeks. His pale skin appeared white, a healthy tone of white. Compared to that, his lips appeared red, as if someone had smeared rouge on them.
Hui blinked. He had seen many beauties in his life, but he had never met such a beautiful person before.
As if noticing his gaze, the young angel looked his way.
"Hey piggy. Here, do you want some?"
He plucked him off the chair and stuffed him into his lap.
Hui Lang froze. He could feel the warmth emanating from this man. It was weirdly... comforting.
A handful of roasted sunflower seeds were shoved into his face.
"Here you go, eat up and fatten up."
Hui, who was about to eat, instantly lost his appetite.
"Fuck… how could I forget? This beauty is trying to eat me... like literally eat me."**
He quickly shook the angel's hands off and jumped down, running off to the corner.
Tian gazed back at the piglet with a soft sigh.
"How can it get fat when it refuses to eat? Should we buy some pig feed?"
"Hmm, I think we should," Lu Chen held out his hand.
Tian filled it up with roasted sunflower seeds.
"Are you really okay with me crashing at your place? I don't have a job, and my bank balance is... let's just say it's not healthy."
"Oh, it's okay. When I was your age, I used to crash at my friend's place until I found a steady job. I just wish to reciprocate the kindness."
He cast a small smile his way.
For a second, Tian saw angel wings behind this guy.
"Oh my god, what a kindhearted person, yet that stupid Hui Lang did not even notice him! Such a stone-hearted man. I bet he will die an old man without anyone by his side."
Right as he was thinking this, the TV channel went into a commercial. Surprisingly, they broadcasted a missing notice.
He quickly plucked the remote from the corner of the sofa and increased the volume.
"Young conglomerate Hui Lang missing since last evening. The company is in shambles, trying to find their CEO. Anyone with any information, please call the following number..."
"What the..." Tian frowned softly.
"I just saw him last evening at the restaurant I work at..." Lu Chen quickly took his phone out.
"I'll just let them know."
He left the room.
Tian sat there chewing on his sunflower seeds with a frown.
"He went missing, huh?"
In his hindsight, he noticed the pig standing by his feet. He quickly picked him up and held him close to the TV.
"Here piggy, look. He went missing. Isn't that retribution?"
Hui gazed back at him.
"Retribution for what?"
Small oinks escaped his mouth.
"Tsk, you don't know this guy. It's all because of him that I'm in this state! I lost my home, my friend, and everything I cared about because of this man! Aghh!"
Tian rolled off the sofa, hugging the piglet in his arms.
"Right now, I could have been in heaven, happily enjoying a cup of ambrosia..."
Hui silently listened to his rants.
"What did I do?"
"I wish I could just squeeze his face hard and ask him why!" Tian let out a sigh, pulling the piglet tighter in his embrace. He was left homeless, jobless, and penniless because someone refused to fall in love.
"It's all his fault..." he whispered softly. A few tears streamed down his face.
Hui, who gazed at this, was shocked.
"What the hell did I do?"
Tian sniffled, wiping his tears away.
"I... I just want to go home..."
