Chapter 30 - I am Kenshin Okumi

Everyone was waiting outside the grand leader's house for Masaru to enter. The crowd was enormous; many had joined them until they reached the house, and all eagerly anticipated Masaru becoming their new leaders. The grand leader had told them to be patient, assuring them that everything would be resolved in time. He was right; Masaru would finally gain his freedom and become their leader. Anton, at the forefront, eagerly awaited Masaru's arrival at the podium to speak with the grand leader.

Masaru confidently navigated through the massive house. The decorations here reminded him of the beginning; the house where he had suffered torment with his mother. He clenched his teeth; it was the day of revenge. From everyone and everything... He had finally reached the grand finale. With a smile on his face, he continued towards the room where his father was, examining the traces on the decorations.

The enormous house was silent. The people must genuinely love the grand leader; otherwise, how could they allow him to live in such a mansion, many floors larger than their own houses? Masaru was getting closer; finally, he saw the giant throne door, symbols in front of it. If anyone could understand what they meant, it was Masaru.

"You filth," a smile appeared on Masaru's face. He had figured out what he would encounter inside. He opened the door, and as soon as he did, swords rained down on him. Masaru, with his taikyuu, dodged the swords without any harm. "Sorry, sorry; it was just a test, little man." Masaru didn't look at the man sitting on the throne. He focused on the mummified woman sitting next to him. His mother sat there with her lifeless body. "Ah, I see, you're looking at her first. I understand, Kenshin."

"Should I say Mac Shizen or Kazou Okumi?" Masaru quickly jumped on his father, grabbing his throat. His eyes gleamed with unprecedented anger. "Ahgg, you're... you're him." Recognizing Masaru from his eyes, Kazou smiled. "The child who fulfilled all my needs in place of Kenshin."

Masaru quickly raised his arm, but before he could throw a punch, Kazou touched his shoulder. Masaru fell to the ground in pain, trembling. "AAAAAGGHH." The impact was intensified as the one causing this trauma was the person who created it. Masaru groaned in pain, his eyes shifting uncontrollably. "Ah, it seems you couldn't escape this pain; how unfortunate." Kazou delivered a kick to Masaru's stomach while he was still on the ground. Masaru, unable to do anything, was thrown through the air, breaking through the wall. "Y-you, hehahaaaa. HAHAHAA, I WILL KILL YOU IN FRONT OF YOUR PEOPLE, DIMINISH ALL THEIR HOPES." Masaru, controlling his tremors, quickly disappeared from the scene.

"I'VE FIGURED YOU OUT, KAZOU; NOW YOU'RE DEFENSELESS AGAINST ME." Kazou smiled; he caught the incoming fist with his strings. Masaru's eyes opened. "3 arts?" Kazou separated Masaru's arm, captured with the strings. Masaru, astonished, rolled on the ground. His father stood there, swinging the severed arm. "Life is full of surprises, isn't it?" Kazou tossed the arm to the ground. "Y-you, you're his child." Masaru answered one of Ken's lingering questions. "But still, you can't defeat me." Masaru disappeared again; despite the disadvantage of having only one arm, he was still much stronger than Kazou, after all, he was the chosen one.

He watched Kazou in the middle, quietly waiting, drawing circles in the air with a rope in his hand. Why wasn't he doing anything? Swiftly approaching, intending to envelop his body with all the created ropes, Kazou disappeared. "Impossible!" Masaru quickly vanished to avoid a blow. Kazou reappeared in the same place. Putting his hand to his face, Kazou began to laugh. "Hahahaa, everything happens just as he said." Masaru didn't understand what was happening; right now, he had only one thought in his mind: the grand finale. Kazou disappeared again, suddenly appearing in front of Masaru. As Masaru swiftly tried to pierce his chest, Kazou vanished again. It was an incredible speed. Having such abilities didn't make sense. "You want answers, don't you? Don't worry; you'll learn them all." Kazou silently settled in, waiting for Masaru. Masaru didn't have time to spare for questions. He opened his hands, controlling all the items in the grand throne room and directing them onto Kazou.

With the disadvantage of being one-armed, he slowly approached Kazou, who didn't escape despite the items. Masaru was surprised, but this was a victory for him. Kazou was crushed amid all the items. Masaru jumped to his mother's mummified dead body. He smiled, having taken great care not to harm her. His head turned into a wreckage of items where Kazou was crushed. Slowly, he moved there and threw the items on the body aside. When he looked at the body, it was intact. Such power was impossible. Kazou opened his eyes and smiled.

He quickly jumped onto Masaru's neck. Masaru pulled back. "You can't defeat me, son," Kazou watched Masaru with a grinning goatee face. Kazou disappeared. He appeared behind Masaru and stabbed his sword into his back. "Arhhg." Masaru had been waiting for this moment; with the sword stuck behind him, Kazou's hand was tied, and then he swiftly slammed into the wall behind him. Even with his taikyuu, Kazou couldn't protect himself. The sword pierced Masaru's body even more, but this allowed Kazou to be crushed behind him. He quickly took his severed arm, healed himself, and then stepped on Kazou. Kazou was laughing amidst the blood. Masaru tied him with ropes and started to heal him. "You won't die here, Kazou."

"Hahahaa, I won't die, yes." Suddenly, Masaru felt a shiver behind him. Focusing on Kazou's fingers, he realized what was happening. Instead of escaping, he gave flow to his back with his taikyuu. The swords hitting his back rapidly bounced back. "You're a failure, Kazou." After sufficiently healing Kazou, Masaru slowly dragged him outside.

Everyone started shouting with excitement when they saw Masaru. "YOU DID IT, MASARU!" Anton was watching Masaru with joy. Suddenly squatting down, Masaru grabbed the grand leader from the crowd, showing him to the people. The shouting stopped abruptly. All sound ceased. Masaru watched the people with a smile on his face. "WELCOME TO THE GRAND FINALE, MY PEOPLE." Anton was filled with fear. Everyone in the crowd shared the same feelings. "I AM NOT MASARU; I AM THE TWIN. HAHAHAA, THERE IS NO NEED FOR MY NAME ANYMORE BECAUSE NO ONE WILL CALL ME BY MY NAME HERE, AND NOW, IT'S TIME FOR THE GRAND FINALE." Everyone looked at Masaru in horror; the representative of justice who had helped them multiple times was now filling them with fear. Anton started crying; he had never seen the true face of the friend he trusted until now. He hadn't understood Masaru's pains. He wasn't angry with Masaru; he was angry with himself for never truly understanding Masaru. Masaru took out a knife from his pocket and pressed it against Kazou's neck. "I WILL SHATTER YOUR FIRST HOPES, JUST LIKE MY HOPES SHATTERED." "D-DON'T BE AFRAID, MY PEOPLE." Kazou forced his voice out, trying to give hope to his people, but his attempt was in vain. The eyes of the people were filled with tears, full of fear and sorrow. The founder of the city, the great leader Mac Shizen, was about to take his last breath in front of them. "Ah, you're a terrible role-player, Kazou." Masaru pressed the knife even harder. Blood started flowing from Kazou's neck.

Masaru looked at the stunned crowd that followed them. Their hopeless gazes fueled Masaru's emotions. "Let's end this spectacle now." Masaru took Kazou's body in front of him and raised the knife. Just as he was about to thrust it, he froze. He threw Kazou's body to the ground. The crowd was astonished; what was Masaru aiming for? Kneeling in front of the approaching footsteps from behind, Masaru made the crowd start to think a savior had arrived. Masaru raised both of his hands. "Hehehee, I knew you would succeed." Masaru started crying with joy. It was the first time in his life. Kenshin had always been the one crying beside his mother. He, on the other hand, tried to repair himself alone in the darkness. "You did it, yes, I knew." Masaru felt a new emotion at that moment: happiness. The person behind him continued to approach slowly. Masaru was filled with happiness; the tears in his eyes were a separate joy for him. "Thank you very much," he said with gratitude, tilting his face upwards. Raindrops falling on his face were flowing down with tears. Everyone was curious about what was happening. Finally, the person approaching behind Masaru stood behind him. He raised his right arm, pointed to Masaru's head, and pressed his middle finger against it. Masaru peacefully awaited his end. The person behind him had eyes filled with sadness; his tears, like raindrops, were flowing down his face. "I..." The person behind him pressed his fingers against Masaru's head even more. "I am Kenshin Okumi..."
