Chapter 18 - Ironclad Five

Under the urging of the night's third watch, Lao Gu once again revealed his figure, and finally understood what Ye Sangeng intended to learn under the night's third watch. On the spot, he performed the horrifying sword technique once again.

The sword was swift, and Ye Sangeng couldn't even see it clearly. However, he had no chance because of Lao Gu's waist, which flickered once again.

"It seems that Lao Gu currently only knows this one trick, but his body can't withstand the burden, and his mind isn't particularly sharp..."

Sending Lao Gu back to drink milk for healing, Ye Sangeng thrust the long sword into the ground.

"But if I upgrade Lao Gu again, maybe he'll recover even more, but..."

Upgrading Lao Gu again required 5 soul points, meaning that after the upgrade, the soul energy required to sustain Lao Gu for a day would reach 7 points. This made Ye Sangeng, whose soul energy was already stretched, hesitate.

"It seems that apart from money, soul energy is also a big problem."

Just as he sighed, Ye Sangeng suddenly heard a noisy sound coming from the Stenchy Farm, as if someone was shouting and cursing. His expression changed, and he hurried back.

"Human?"

Before getting close, Ye Sangeng saw a team of five people surrounding the Stenchy Farm, constantly berating the four novice skeletons working on the field.

"Listen up, you four goblins! You have been surrounded by our Iron Armor Mercenary Team! Surrender your weapons if you're sensible; otherwise, we won't be polite!" a man in black armor, carrying a large axe, shouted.

"The boss told you not to move, can't you understand? Damn, still farming! Are we invisible?" This time, a man with dual knives spoke, angrily wiping his knives and creating sparks.

"Damn, they're still moving! I can't stand it anymore! I'm going to blast them!" a pimple-faced woman screamed, holding a fireball the size of a ping pong ball in her hand.

"Don't act recklessly! Haven't you seen that these goblins are actually farming? This doesn't match the illustration provided by the Adventurer's Guild. I suspect they are mutated goblins!" the axe-wielding man shook his head.

"Mutated goblins? If we capture them alive, won't we make a fortune?" a short, hooded man with a raspy voice asked.

"That's why I told you not to act! Oh, that friend over there, these goblins were discovered by our Iron Armor Mercenary Team first. Please stay a bit away; otherwise, I'm afraid we might accidentally harm you later," the axe-wielding man said when he saw Ye Sangeng approaching, wrinkling his brow and blocking his way.

"Move aside," Ye Sangeng said with a determined expression.

"Tsk tsk, kid, you have a lot of guts to talk to our Iron Armor Mercenary Team's boss like that!" the dual-knife man chuckled.

"This is my territory; step aside!" Ye Sangeng drew his long sword and looked at the dual-knife man.

He hated two kinds of people the most:

First, those who wanted to take advantage of him.

Second, those who bullied his little brothers.

These guys fell into both categories, especially the first one, which instantly infuriated him.

The dual-knife man was glared at by him, and for some reason, he suddenly felt a chill in his heart, almost cutting himself while playing with his knives.

"Humph! Young man, you're alone, and we're five. I advise you to speak more modestly!" the axe-wielding man signaled, and the other four, including the silent shield-bearing bald man, quickly surrounded Ye Sangeng.

Ye Sangeng frowned, waved his hand, and the four goblins finally stopped their movements, holding hoes, standing by his side. East Dust and West Old also came with axes, and even Lao Gu, holding onto his waist, rode a cow and nestled behind Ye Sangeng.

"Boss, something's not right. They have eight, and we have five... " the bald male with a shield suddenly said, pointing fingers seriously, correcting the axe leader.

"You blockhead! What's eight? I can take them all down by myself!" the axe-wielding man glared at the shield-bearing man and then tossed his axe.

"Young man, what do you mean?" the axe-wielding man asked.

"Humph! These four goblins are mine. What do you mean by that?" Ye Sangeng said coldly.

Although these four goblins were resurrected using the soul energy of 004 and four corpses, they were still his subordinates. These seemingly weak mercenaries actually wanted to take away his property. If he didn't act on the spot, it would be considered mild.

As for what to do if he couldn't beat them, Ye Sangeng wasn't worried at all.

Where is this?

Loran Territory!

And who is he?

The patrolman of Loran Territory!

If these guys, who seemed to be outsiders, dared to lay hands on him, Weng Ling could bury their heads in the mud as fertilizer in minutes.

Moreover, those who could come from Loran City to this forest couldn't possibly not know of his existence as a forest patrolman. Therefore, Ye Sangeng was confident that they wouldn't dare to act.

Furthermore, even if they did, he wasn't necessarily at a disadvantage...

The axe-wielding man frowned, looked at Ye Sangeng for a long time, and finally, his eyes turned, and he put on a smiling face.

"Look at my memory. Brother, you must be the forest patrolman mentioned by Lord Weng, right? I'm called Iron Axe, the captain of the Iron Armor Mercenary Team."

Ye Sangeng ignored the hand extended by Iron Axe.

"Did Lord Weng send you?"

"Yes, yes, Lord Weng recently issued an extermination notice, recruiting nearby mercenaries into Loran Territory to eliminate goblins. So, we came."

Iron Axe smiled and pointed to the four goblins in front of Ye Sangeng.

"It was just a misunderstanding. We didn't know that this young man could tame goblins so obediently. If we knew, we wouldn't have dared to act. Right?"

Iron Axe didn't fully explain; he just said that Weng Ling had gathered mercenaries, but he didn't mention the decision to enter the forest today. He was worried that if he did, Ye Sangeng would become suspicious.

Ye Sangeng listened and furrowed his brows.

No wonder Weng Ling was so confident yesterday. It turned out she had already figured out how to deal with the goblins in the forest. But relying on these adventurers, could they really get rid of the goblin menace?

He felt a faint sense of unease.

However, since these five mercenaries came to kill goblins, perhaps he could make use of them tonight.

"If it was a misunderstanding, then let it go. However, when you go hunting goblins, I insist on being present."

"What's the use of a young man like you tagging along? We don't have the time to look after you!" the pimple-faced girl snorted.

"Oh, forget it then. I was going to tell you where to find the goblin camp. Forget it," Ye Sangeng sighed and

 turned to leave.

"Young man, please wait!"
