Chapter 24 - Wheat sprouts sprout overnight

Night Three did not pay attention to Baozi Meimei's yelling over there.

This apprentice elemental mage girl, though at most a novice in her abilities, possessed an imaginative mind. She often connected things in a peculiar way, sparing him from excessive explanations.

"You take your time moving; I have some matters to attend to," Night Three said.

"Master..." Baozi Meimei glanced at Night Three's figure, bit her lip, and ultimately didn't dare to follow.

Night Three had four goblin skeletons stationed in the Bone Cutting Lumber House. Then, he took the remaining twelve to cut wood, not letting them go too far, as the performance of Iron Axe and others when they saw them yesterday was still vivid in his memory.

Moreover, a large group of adventurers would arrive shortly. He didn't want the little skeletons he summoned to become someone else's spoils of war.

However, at the same time, he didn't intend to conceal it either.

Who knew how long Weng Ling's anti-pest activity would last? What if she wanted to do it for a year? Would he be able to plant his fields?

No matter what, he decided to work a bit harder today and provide some explanations in advance.

With these thoughts in mind, Night Three walked to the side of the Stench Corpse Farm.

The four pitiful goblin skeletons were still diligently hoeing the ground. Night Three crouched down with keen interest after just a glance.

In the center of the 25 grids, a cluster of finger-length tender shoots had sprouted, vibrant in green, quite adorable.

"It grew like this in just one night; it seems to be effective," Night Three nodded.

"I only planted one seed, but it grew into a cluster. It seems there's something about this Stench Corpse Farm."

As he spoke, the four skeletons in front of him suddenly stopped and walked toward the side of the Corruption Pool. In the horrified gaze of Iron Axe and others, they plunged their hands into it.

"Hiss! Aren't they afraid of being corroded into white bones by this green water?" Iron Axe exclaimed in surprise.

Before this, they had thrown many corpses into the pool, and without exception, they turned into white bones in less than a minute. However, these goblin slaves seemed to be unharmed, reaching into the water... washing their hands?

"I understand! They must have a barrier applied by the Master! Look, they can't even hold up the water!" Baozi Meimei exclaimed admiringly.

This kind of meticulous control ability, Master... Can I become your apprentice?"

Baozi Meimei bit her lip, her face full of acne turning bright red, and knelt down in front of Night Three.

Seeing the expectant eyes of Baozi Meimei, Night Three decisively shook his head.

Goblin skeletons unable to hold water were not because of some damn barrier!

Becoming skeletons and trying to carry water is like using a bamboo basket to fetch water.

Moreover, he was not a great archmage, and he had no desire to take on a female apprentice and train her. There was no need to agree.

However...

Night Three scratched his head.

"Your magical power is too weak. Talk to me when you can release ten thousand Fireball spells continuously!"

According to his last observation, this apprentice elemental mage girl could only release about fifteen Fireball spells at most. Waiting until she could release ten thousand?

Heh, maybe in the next life!

Sure enough, hearing Night Three's conditions, Iron Axe and the others gasped, realizing that the requirements for apprenticeship with the great archmage were so terrifying.

Continuous release of ten thousand spells? Just making ten thousand cuts would probably make them pass out, let alone extracting magical power.

"I will achieve it!"

"Huh?" Night Three was taken aback.

Baozi Meimei looked up at Night Three, her eyes full of determination.

"Continuous release of ten thousand Fireball spells, I will achieve it!"

"Whatever you say," Night Three rubbed his temples and pointed to the four goblins still in the process of drawing water.

"Before that, can you hand them four cups?"

The goblin skeletons stationed at the Stench Corpse Farm were not on strike for no reason. They just wanted to fetch water to irrigate the fields.

Sure enough, after getting the containers, they began to irrigate slowly. However, since they were using the small cups that Iron Axe and others used for drinking, it looked a bit... funny.

Night Three twitched his mouth. Having arrived in this world empty-handed, he lacked many essential tools for life and production. When he hadn't used them yet, he didn't know what he was lacking.

"Or maybe I should go to Lorand City next time to shop around and buy something?" Night Three thought, touching his money pouch with some distress.

"Hey! Why do you have so many strangers here?!"

A familiar voice suddenly exploded behind Night Three, startling him. Without thinking, he drew his sword and stabbed it toward his back.

"Is it you?"

"Go, you!"

With a bang, Night Three felt like his lower jaw snapped, and he flew high into the air, falling heavily after flying six meters.

"Oops!"

Night Three touched his mouth and found blood. It seemed like his jaw was dislocated.

"Oh, are you okay?"

The speaker was Weng Ling. Today, she was wearing a black off-the-shoulder outfit with leather pants. Her arms and legs were covered with silver armor, but the most eye-catching was the black iron hammer she carried on her back.

The handle of the large hammer was at least one meter five long, and with the shield-like crosshead, it was at least two meters in total!

As for the weight, Night Three couldn't guess.

With a click, Night Three reset his jaw, then patted his butt, looking pitifully at Iron Axe and the others who finally realized something was wrong.

How unreliable can this group be? They let such a conspicuous living person run from their front to behind without noticing!

"Miss... Lady Weng?" Iron Axe wiped his sweat and bowed.

"You... are mercenaries? Why did you come in so quickly? Weren't you supposed to wait outside?" Weng Ling said strangely.

Okay, another blind one.

Night Three rubbed his temples. He now doubted where Weng Ling came from and whether she only had his back in her sight when sneaking around.

Moreover, according to Weng Ling, she actually left the adventurers outside the stone wall just to scare him?

"They are my friends; they slept here last night."

"Slept here?" Weng Ling looked at Iron Axe and the others, especially the pockmarked girl Baozi.

"Okay, let me be direct. Later, a group of adventurers will come in. Their task is to kill the goblins in the forest, and your task is to record the ones they kill..."

Weng Ling's face suddenly changed, and she pulled out the large iron hammer, holding it horizontally. A gust of wind directly messed up Night Three's hairstyle.

"Why are there so many goblins here? What... are they doing?!"

As the sun rose, the morning mist gradually dissipated. Ten goblins stepped on the slightly cold morning dew, carrying a large log, trotting past her. Not far away, four goblins were holding cups and watering the fields.

One cup

, another cup, and another cup...
