Near a mansion, a massive stack of bodies were piled up in front and the symbol of the Dark Guild was on the ground made of blood. Every weapon on the battlefield was stabbed into the ground and amongst the broken weapons was a single person alive.
News soon started to spread to surrounding cities and attracted the attention of the hounds as one of their operatives was killed.
Multiple people arrived at the scene and carried each corpse away except the dead hound. Though the hound was weak, it didn't mean they weren't strong, which is why it confused the two approaching people.
"What the hell happened here? An army of dead soldiers and a hound dead?" A woman spoke.
"Looking at our fellow hound's facial expression, he was surprised before he died." A man replied.
The scene didn't make sense to the duo because even a strong mage would struggle against an army of mages and swordsmen.
"The question is, why would they bother to stab each weapon into the ground after they killed the army?" The man asked.
"Hmm… Why was our hound surprised? We've been trained to kill on sight so why would he be surprised?" The woman didn't answer the man's question.
After all the bodies were moved, two cards were found covered in blood and one was the Dark Guild's symbol while the other was a joker.
"They left this on purpose… Either they're returning back to the Dark Guild's base of operations or they're going to assassinate another person… Send two hounds to each surrounding city." The woman ordered.
The man saluted and disappeared from the woman's sight. The woman then sighed and took a closer look inside the mansion.
"This job was done by an amateur as they wouldn't go through the process of killing an entire army and their scent… is strange" She sniffed the air.
Going down to the basement, the woman saw the baron's dead corpse and realized something was wrong with his injury. His fatal wound had the presence of an aura and was pierced by a sharp object.
'It can't be… he was killed by a werewolf!' The woman thought, surprised.
The woman ran outside the mansion and looked stumbled upon small piles up blood leading to a nearby city.
'The only person capable of doing this is a hound or… Sebastian… But his body was found deep within the elven territory'
The woman placed a scroll on the ground and activated it. A portal opened and walking through, she kneeled in front of a person.
_________
"Did you hear? The baron of the nearby city was killed."
Walking through a crowd in a cloak, Sebastian was heading toward his next target. After he finished the army of soldiers, he knew that it wouldn't be long before more would arrive so he left as quick as possible.
As he walked through the crowed, people began to notice that he was limping with each step. Some people were even worried and asked him if he needed him help but he would reject their offer.
'I need to find a healer…' Sebastian thought with a hazy mind.
Sebastian felt his wound and realized his healing was being affected by something but didn't know what. As time passed, his injuries were getting worse by the minute and his mind was slowly getting fuzzy.
"Are you ok, son? Do you need to see a healer?" A man asked, approaching Sebastian.
"Y-yes… I need-" Sebastian couldn't finish his words as he collapsed on the ground.
__________
Three Days Later...
"Wake the hell up!" A woman shouted as she slammed her fist into Sebastian's abdomen.
Although she slammed her fist into his abdomen, Sebastian didn't show any signs of waking up. His body was hardened by his fifteen month long training and a fist wouldn't do much damage.
"Hank! Wake this kid up! He's been here for three days and hasn't woken up."
"Fine." Hank replied.
Hank walked over to Sebastian with a knife in his hand and was prepared to stab him in the stomach. Before the knife could even move, Sebastian's hand grabbed Hank's hand and slammed his fist into his face.
Bang!
"Hey!" Hank shouted and looked toward Sebastian but he was already gone and left a single gold coin on the bed.
______________
"This is better."
Sebastian appeared on top of the city's cathedral as it was the highest point of the city and looked over the entirety of the city. One thing Sebastian noticed was the amount of guards around the city and felt the presence of two strong individuals.
'W-why is there auras?' Sebastian questioned, staring toward his next target.
Though it was invisible to other people, Sebastian saw two massive auras emitting from his target's castle. Slowly, they began to manifest until they transformed into two tigers, roaring into the sky.
'I must get in contact with Ragnar or Bastian.' Sebastian thought as he pulled the amulet.
"Hello, Sebastian!" Bastian waved, appearing from thin air.
"Ah! What the hell is your problem? Appearing from nowhere!" Sebastian replied with anger.
"We took notice of the increase in security and we realized this mission is above your grade so I'll be taking you back."
"Wait!" Sebastian tried to stop Bastian but they were already inside the Dark Guild's headquarters.
He then felt a strong aggression in a certain direction and looked. His heart sank as he saw who angry at him.
"Oi, brat! An assassination mission is meant to be quiet and not loud." Ragnar showed his displeasure.
"Spare me the lecture. I didn't think they had an assassin as their bodyguard." Sebastian replied.
"Brat!"
Bang!
Ragnar then slammed his fist into a wall behind him and broke it all down. His hand stayed there until cracks started to appear and distort the air.
"Calm down, boss! You're gonna destroy the whole realm, if you continue!" Bastian spoke with concern.
Thump!
Sebastian's eyes widened in shock as five large bags of gold coins were dropped in front of him. He stared at Bastian for awhile before putting his hand forward and putting the bags into his storage ring.
"Five million gold coins. That's the reward for undertaking a difficult mission and getting rid of an entire army." Bastian said.
Upon hearing the exact number of gold coins, Sebastian nearly fainted on the spot as he couldn't believe what Bastian said. Unable to contain his laughter any longer, Bastian laughed out loud as he saw Sebastian's facial expression.
"I suppose you haven't seen or gained the much money before have you?" Bastian asked.
Shaking his head, Sebastian slowly walked away and exited the HQ. Facing the town, he smirked and walked down the flight of stairs until he arrived at the bottom.
_____________
Two Hours Later
"Hmm… What should I buy?"
Sebastian had roamed mostly all the streets of the Dark Guild's market and couldn't found anything useful to buy. There was some items that interested him but the prices were too high for him to purchase them.
"Slaves for sale! Get Fifty percent off your first time buying one." A man in a hood spoke.
"Slaves? I suppose I can take a look."
Walking inside, Sebastian saw multiple cages filled with different types of races. Though the majority of cages were filled with females while the rest were filled with males.
'Elves, humans and even demons…' Sebastian noticed.
Looking around, Sebastian found none of them interesting and felt like leaving. As he was about to walk away, a person approached him and grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Aren't you a bit young to be here?" A man asked.
Stab!
"Did you call me young?" Sebastian asked with a domineering tone.
"You know, it isn't nice to try and kill someone you meet for the first time." The man replied, his hand stabbed.
'Wind augmentation? If remember correctly, those that can augment their bodies with their magic are quite strong.' He recalled the moment Sophie augmented her body with her lightning.
"I'll ignore your aggression just this once. Which slave do you want?" The man asked.
Looking amongst the slaves again, Sebastian found only one slave interesting and it was a female demon. He approached the cage and inspected the demon before pointing at her.
"I'd like that one," He said.
"That one was already bought so you'll have to pick another one."
"How much?"
"Three million."
"I'll give you five million gold coins, if you'll give it me now"
"F-five million! She was only worth half a million and they offered to pay three million but I'll accept your offer."
The transaction went quicker than Sebastian thought as the slave trader immediately accepted the offer and gave him an slave contract.
Sebastian inspected the the female demon and noticed she was about the same age as Sebastian, if not older. He then pulled out the key given to him by the slave trader and opened the cage before stepping back and allowing her to leave.
"She was only worth half a million since she's like this but maybe she'll make a fine slave, once she's all grown up." The slave trader said.
"Ha! Maybe you're right." Sebastian replied with sarcasm.
Closing the cage again, Sebastian picked up the cage and made his way back the HQ. As he walked through the street with a cage in hand, he noticed some people glanced at him and looked at the slave.
'This just feels wrong...'
As he arrived at the front door of HQ, he noticed a commotion going on inside and opted to sneak through his room's window instead of garnering Bastian's or Ragnar's attention. He walked beside the HQ's walls until he arrived near his room.
Jumping up to his window and entering inside, he placed the cage down and opened it. He then walked over to his bed and placed a knife on the ground before laying down on his bed.
He placed the knife on the ground because he needed to know exactly how traumatized she was and what she would if presented with the option to kill him.
Few Seconds Later...
'She hasn't even moved…'
Standing up, Sebastian looked at the cage and realized she wasn't there. Frantically, he looked around the room and couldn't see her at all.
'Both the door and window aren't open… Dammit! I paid five million gold coins for her and now she's gone…' Sebastian was now regretting buying her.
'Wait… the knife's gone' Sebastian noticed.
Snap!
Feeling a sharp pain from behind, Sebastian turned his head around and saw her with the knife in hand and pressed against his back.
"Hello there." Sebastian said, turning his body to face her.
The girl dropped the knife and tears started to stream down her face. She slowly walked backward before falling on the ground and shaking violently.
"No… Please don't hurt me…" She murmured.
"Relax, you're safe with me. I won't hurt you." Sebastian held his hand out.
She didn't move or accept his hand as she kept shaking her head. Sebastian noticed this and figured out a way to gain her trust but it would hard process.
'This is gonna be a problem…' Sebastian thought as he came up with an idea.
"I'll go get some food so stay here, if you want to eat." Sebastian said, noticing how malnourish she was.
Walking outside the room, Sebastian headed toward the cafeteria of the headquarters and retrieved the best food from the chief. He then looked at what else food they had and grabbed some food for himself.
"I've brought you food." Sebastian said, walking inside.
Looking around the room, he noticed she was gone and realized she probably had the ability to go invisible. Thinking of an idea, he expanded his energy to feel for the slightest movement in the room.
'There!' He reached out and grabbed through the air.
"Ah!" A female voice screamed out in terror.
'Oh... I forgot...' Sebastian thought, releasing the her arm.
Thump!
The female demon fell to the ground and trembled in fear. Watching, she saw as Sebastian placed a big plate of food on a table and walk over to his bed.
Slowly, she walked toward the table while taking quick glances at Sebastian to ensure he wouldn't do anything to harm her. Once she was at the table, she grabbed the nearby spoon and dug into the food.
'Hopeful she won't be like this much longer.' Sebastian thought.
