Chereads / The Strongest Primordial Werewolf / Chapter 18 - First Assassination

Chapter 18 - First Assassination

"Where the hell am I? I didn't even see someone cast a spell" Sebastian said.

Currently, he was in the middle of a forest. Though a couple of seconds ago, he was in the Dark Guild's headquarters. Since it was so quick and sudden, his brain couldn't function proper as he was confused.

The amulet, which Ragnar gave him, shined brightly and a green line appeared from the amulet, and pointed in a direction. He then followed the green line and it led him to a dirt road. As he looked in both directions of the dirt road, he saw an incoming carriage.

The carriage came to a stop and a woman stepped outside the carriage. She then walked toward Sebastian and kneeled down as if she felt bad for him.

"Are you lost, boy?" She asked.

"Yes, I was hunting a small rabbit and didn't see that I was far away from my hometown." Sebastian replied, scared and shaky.

"Don't worry. You can come with me for the time being and I'll send out a request to find your parents. Does that sound good" The woman smiled creepily.

The woman reached her hand out and grabbed Sebastian before she was slowly walked him inside. Once he was close, he smelled a strong sense of blood around her body.

'She reeks of blood!' Sebastian thought.

Fifteen Minutes Later…

"We're here!" The woman announced.

As she said that, the carriage came to a stop and almost instantly, Sebastian felt multiple powerful individuals in the area. He then looked outside the carriage and saw that they were along the wall.

"Open the gate!"

The carriage continued moving forward for the next ten minutes until they arrived at a large mansion. The doors to the mansion opened and the baron of the mansion came running outside.

"Welcome, my daughter!" The baron said, happily

The father and daughter embraced each other and the daughter began to explain her trips. After a while, the daughter pointed toward the carriage to show her father the boy but he was gone.

"Where did he go?" She asked.

"He went toward the city." The carriage driver replied.

'This entire mansion reeks of blood! This… scent!'

On the mansion's rooftop, Sebastian was stalking the father and daughter duo and realized something strange about the scents.

'I could kill the baron now but… they're watching.'

The people Sebastian was referring to were the hidden guards. Sebastian managed to escape their sight but it wasn't an easy task. They would likely be suspicious but at least he wouldn't be watched.

After they arrived, Sebastian walked away from the carriage before he flash-stepped onto the mansion's rooftop. Looking around, he saw a window on the rooftop and slowly made his way to it before entering the mansion.

Why did the mansion reek of blood? Why were their scents strange?

All sorts of thoughts were flooding Sebastian's mind but the only thing that remained certain: the father and daughter weren't normal. But all those thoughts had to wait as Sebastian couldn't investigate while there were still daylight hours left. With nothing else to do, Sebastian decided to take a nap.

Eight Hours Later…

"I guess it's time to do some investigating." Sebastian spoke, smiling.

Using partial transformation, he created a hole big enough in the attic for him to fit through. He then dropped through the hole and noticed it was oddly quiet. He also took note of the lack of security inside the mansion.

'Better be careful from here on out.' Sebastian thought.

Now that he was inside the mansion, Sebastian was searching for clues. He slowly explored the mansion layout while avoiding the randomly placed guards. As much as he wanted to go behind one of the doors that the guards were guarding, he couldn't do it without getting caught.

"Did you hear? The baron's daughter is looking for people." One of the guards said.

"Yeah. I heard she even brought a young boy but lost track of his location. Where is she now?" Another guard asked.

"She's inside the dungeon underneath the mansion."

'Dungeon? That might be where the bloody smell comes from.' Sebastian noted.

After eavesdropping, Sebastian made his way down the mansion and tried to look for the dungeon but he knew it wouldn't be that easy to find. He continued to explore the bottom floor of the mansion until he arrived in the kitchen.

Sniff!

He then sniffed the air and smelled a hint of blood roaming around the kitchen but it couldn't tell if it was from the food or the dungeon. Before he was about to move, he noticed the fridge had scratches beneath it as if it was able to move.

'Smart.' He thought before walking over to the fridge and moving it out of the way before walking down the stairs. He then arrived at the dungeon and hid behind a few boxes as he saw the father and mother duo.

"I wish that boy would have stayed, even if he wasn't a vampire. We haven't gotten any vampires to experiment on or to torture." The daughter spoke.

"Relax. We're gonna get a new batch of vampires to experiment on. We're so close to perfecting the strength enhancing drug so we can win the war against those damned vampires." The father said.

'Strength enhancing drug? Why does the boss want me to assassinate someone doing good?''

Being too focused on the duo, he didn't sense an incoming guard behind him.

Shing!

A small dagger was pointed toward his neck and the assassin revealed themself. Surprised, Sebastian cursed himself for allowing himself to be snuck up on.

"Boss! We found the boy." A man revealed himself and Sebastian to the baron.

"It seems like Niko was right. He's an assassin sent by the Dark Guild."

The daughter walked toward Sebastian until their faces were a few inches apart. She then inspected Sebastian's body because of his weird scent he was emitting.

"What are you? I can smell three different scents but I can't exactly tell what they are." The daughter said.

'Where the hell did he come from? I didn't even hear or smell him.' Sebastian was still on about the guard.

"Answer her!" The guard shouted.

Splat!

Before the Baron and guard could react, both of their chests were pierced. They then both looked at Sebastian and saw his claws covered in blood.

"W-what?"

"Bastard!"

Crack!

The guard's bones started to crack as he began to transform into something big. He grew in height and size, his fingernail lengthening until they were claws, and his muscles the size of someone's head.

Slash!

The guard attempted to slash Sebastian across the chest and was successful as he sent him flying through the air. Unable to stop his momentum, he slammed into the wall and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

He then stood up and wiped his mouth before slightly transforming his body to increase his durability. Although his physique was unique and stronger than most, it didn't mean he could go take hits like it was nothing.

Stab!

"Ack!" The guard howled in pain.

With great speed, Sebastian surprised the guard as he appeared in front him and stabbed him in the abdomen.

Stab!

Another guard appeared behind Sebastian and stabbed a sword through his back until it pierced through the other side.

Cough!

"Did you really think he was the only one guarding him down here?"

"Ha! Of course I knew there was more than one. My plan is complete now."

Alarms were went off inside the guards' heads and acting quickly, one of the guards jumped onto the daughter.

BANG!

A big red blast shook the dungeon and looking at the standing guard, half of his body was vaporized from the waist up. The other hidden guard dropped from the ceiling with his bottom of vaporized.

'Assassination complete!' Sebastian thought.

Looking around, Sebastian was attempting to find the baron's body but it was gone.

"Well, I didn't think you had a move like that up your sleeve." The final guard revealed himself.

'D-Rank!'

"You shouldn't have disappeared quickly, otherwise I wouldn't have had my suspicions about you." A mysterious guard entered in.

Sebastian's black armor slowly started to cover his body until his helmet covered his face. Pulling out his large sword, Sebastian was ready to kill his opponent..

"Do you think you can beat me?"

Gripping his sword tightly, Sebastian charged forward and swung his blade for the throat.

Bang!

Sebastian's sword stopped and the guard's revealed his hand, which was covered in lava.

"Your sword must be strong, if my lava can't melt the metal."

"If only it was metal"

Before the guard could react, Sebastian's sword cut through the guard's hand. It then ripped through the guard's hand and nearly cut through his entire arm.

"AHH!" The guard screamed in pain.

"Did I allow you to stop my sword?" Sebastian revealed his arrogance.

"You bastard!" The guard shouted in anger.

In an instant, the ground turned into lava and the surrounding air turned dry. A volcano formed between Sebastian and the guard, which caught Sebastian off guard. Within seconds, a large glob of lava launched toward Sebastian and struck his leg.

"Volcanic eruption!"

"Haha! Did you think that would hurt me!?"

Sebastian faced many problems during his fifteen month long training and halfway through the training, he developed a psychological problem. He began to love the feeling of pain. Though he couldn't feel it since his armor was equipped.

Stab!

"W-what?"

Within seconds, Sebastian appeared in front of the man and stabbed his blade into the abdomen. His hair was floating up in the sky and his killing intent was leaking.

"You may be a D-Ranked individual in magic but when it comes to physical strength, no one is better than me."

"Father! Wake up!" The daughter was heard in the distance.

Turning around, Sebastian saw the daughter hold onto her father's chest. Walking forward, Sebastian was ready to swing his blade down onto the girl but someone stopped him.

"What do you think you're doing?" A mysterious man appeared.

"Who are you?" Sebastian questioned the man.

"I'm one of the great defenders of the werewolf empire, a hound."

'Shit! This isn't good! A hound? What am I supposed to do?'

"Wait… that armor… Sebastian?" The hound questioned as he recognized the suit of black armor.

Pulling his helmet off, Sebastian revealed himself to the hound and stunned him.

"Where have you been? We were looking for you everywhere…"

Walking closer toward the hound, Sebastian remained silent as night and was preparing to surprise attack the hound.

"Why are you attacking your kind? Are you working with the Dark Guild?!" The hound became defensive and wary of Sebastian's sudden approach.

"You ask too many questions." Sebastian replied.

Utilizing his speed, Sebastian attempted to strike the hounds neck but before his attack could, the hound countered him.

"I see… I'll kill you myself and report it to Seraph."

Before the hound could comprehend, Sebastian made his move with 'Blitzkrieg' and a chunk of the hound's body could be seen flying. Sebastian repeated 'Blitzkrieg' until the hound collapsed onto the ground.

"I'm sorry but you're interfering with my mission."

Slash!

The hound's head fell to the ground and turning around, Sebastian slashed the daughter's head off, finishing his mission.

Just as Ragnar said, a green line appeared and would lead him to his next mission. The assassination mission didn't sit right with Sebastian as he killed someone important to the werewolves.

'I'll just ask Bastian.' Sebastian thought.

Walking outside the mansion, an army of guards were standing in front and pointing their weapons toward the mansion.

"Drop your weapons and put your hands up!" A giant man in armor said.

Sebastian saw the army of soldier and immediately started panic and become confused of the situation. He did the mission somewhat stealthy but he made sure no one would alert the guard, so why did they appear?

'Call out my name…' A mysterious voice spoke.

'Who's there?' Sebastian asked, looking around.

The scene in front of Sebastian changed from the entire army to a dark plane. Looking around, Sebastian saw the outline of a massive dragon and felt the immense power the dragon held.

"What are you?" Sebastian asked.

"I'm the armor that you wear. I'm the reason why you no longer feel pain. I'm the ancient demonic dragon of the past." The dragon replied.

"What is your name, great one?" Sebastian immediately respected the dragon as it was his only hope of surviving.

"Bellerion… Now shout out my name and I'll give you the strength that you would never hope to achieve…" The dark plane disappeared and was replaced with the army in front of Sebastian.

Sebastian smiled and spoke the word. "Bellerion!"
