"Oh alright," the maid said, and started waking away.
Remembering she didn't even know her way around the corners, as they all looked the same, she called, "Miss, can I bother you to guide me to my room? I am new here so…"
"First, I am an omega, calling me miss is far-fetched. Second, you are a special guest as we were told, you don't need to be polite, you can order us around." The maid corrected, not wanting to be beheaded for Angel's ignorance. On the outside, Apha Fernando might look cool, but whenever he was displeased with something, it took a glare to get rid of it.
Embarrassed, Angel's face turned red, her eyes fluttering as she rubbed her palms nervously. She already forgot this wasn't her father's pack, she didn't have to be so polite. No one respected her there so being respectful had been her niche. Such a successful businesswoman in the outside world, was being treated like a slave in her pack. What a life!
"I am sorry," she apologized.
"And lastly, you only apologize when you are wrong." The maid added and Angel busted into laughter, finding her corrections funny. She was scolding her, yet she sounded cool with it.
If Alpha Fernando didn't mind, she would love to have this maid as her own. An open-minded and bold maid, just like her. They should go along well, if she doesn't decide to betray her too.
"What is your name?" Angel asked.
"My name is Suzanna, Miss." Smiling widely, the maid replied.
"Ahh, I see, I am Angel. Now guide me to my room," following her instructions, Angel introduced herself in turn and ordered, earning a satisfied smile from the maid.
Oddly, it seemed like the maid was purposely sent to guide her, judging by the way she didn't look surprised to see her. She wasn't part of those who came to clean her up, and Suzanna mentioned "we were told," in her statement, so someone did tell Suzanna about her.
"Sure Miss," stretching out her hand, Suzanna made a gesture for Angel to follow her, and they began walking.
It was time for breakfast in the pack house and surprisingly, the dining room wasn't packed with pack members unlike hers back at home. Anyone staying in the pack house could dine in the dining room at her father's pack. Such a disorganized pack, yet they believed they were right.
"I see my sister-in-law is getting used to this environment," a weird-looking man uttered, causing Angel to divert her attention to the man. His dress was that of humans, the earrings and tattoos were humane. Not like werewolves don't have tattoos, but they mostly drew animal signs on their body.
"Fascinating, isn't it? I could book an appointment for you. My brother loves the bosom more, how about that?" Referring to his tattoos, he said, intentionally talking naughtily to annoy Fernando.
"Yes it is, I love it." Truthfully, Angel replied and continued gazing at the tattoo that irked Fernando. What the hell was she doing ogling at another man's tattoo in front of her mate?
"Have some dignity, you are soon to be my Luna." Unable to control the inner conflict, he said, his tone carrying an underlying meaning.
"You don't tell me what to do Alpha Fernando, we are each other's half, remember?" Taking her ground, she retorted, keeping the same gaze on him. Who was he to order her around?
"Really? Then how about I show you how things are run in this pack?" He said, raising a suspicious eyebrow at her.
"Phillip, throw her in the dungeon for two days." He ordered, picking up his spoon to eat like it meant nothing.
"Must you be cruel to everyone?" The guy from earlier, Alpha Fernando's younger brother said, fire blazing in his eyes.
"Then be her company, throw them both in." He added and with a sorry look, Phillip ordered his men to grab them both.
"Honey! Don't you think she is too fragile for the dungeon?" A sexy-looking lady around Angel's age spoke up, her voice thin and seductive which almost made Angel cringe. What was with that voice?
"Of course I do, but she seems to want to learn quickly so I am helping her," Fernando answered and resumed eating.
Before they could drag Angel away, she noticed the satisfied smile on that lady's face, and she realized she had a rival. Wow, it was starting to get interesting.
"I am surprised you didn't fight against his order," as they led them to the dungeon, Andras spoke, his gaze curious as his eyes darted over Angel. She didn't look like a weakling, but if his brother kept on being bad to her, he could be her comfort. What a way to get back at his brother, by using his mate.
"I am surprised you are so interested in me," she pointed out, and his interest only grew more. She was a scene to withhold upon.
"What can I say except, you are a wonder." He said, winking at her which made her blush. He was cute, she was going to admit that.
The guards locked them up in different cells, and gave Andras a warning to behave which made Angel wonder if this wasn't his first time in prison. Why would the Alpha's brother be a frequentist in a dungeon? She noticed how tense the atmosphere was back there, it only meant they weren't on good terms.
Sighing, she sat down and leaned against the wall, wondering why she had to be mated to Alpha Fernando. His life was surrounded by danger, being part of it wouldn't do her any good.
"Sister-in-law, would you mind telling me about yourself?" Their cells were opposite to one another so it was easy to communicate. Moving closer to her door cell, she held the iron and answered, "There is nothing much to know about me. I come from a messed up pack, I am an illegitimate daughter of Alpha Jason." She started, rolling her eyes as she narrated her life story.
"You are the whore's child?"
