Andras immediately felt bad for uttering such words, when he saw how her mood turned sour. He didn't mean to utter it like that, it came out without him knowing.
"What matters is that you didn't give in to your hardship," he said, trying to comfort which didn't work out. She did give in to her hardship and almost died if her mate hadn't saved her.
Well, all of those are over now, it was time for her to move on and plan her future. From the look of things, Alpha Fernando doesn't seem excited to have found his mate, they could strike out a deal if her assumptions are right.
She only managed to stop her father from inheriting her properties for now, but knowing the type of man that gave birth to her, it was only a matter of time before he found a way out.
She can't risk telling Fernando about her dilemma, he might be her mate but mates betray each other, and she can't trust him. There has to be a way out without involving too many eyes, once she was out of this pack, she would never set foot in this country again.
"Sister-in-law, are you already feeling down?" Breaking her thought, Andras asked, an amusing smile on his face.
"Ahh, what were you saying?" She asked.
"Never mind, just stay sane, we have two days to spend here. My brother never takes back his decision," he advised, causing her to nod in understanding. She didn't have to be told what kind of man he was, it was evident, and some of the rumors were right.
"Who was that pretty lady?" Getting down to business, she asked, wanting to know her obstacles in the pack. The faster she figures out a way, the bigger her chances are of getting back her wealth.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Andras teased, wanting to bring out the inner side of her but Angel was quite good at concealing her emotions.
"Of course, he is my mate, can't I be jealous?" Even though she admitted being jealous, Andras wasn't satisfied with the response and knew she was lying. A jealous woman wouldn't sound like that, she was playing along to get what she wanted. What a smart woman! No wonder she was successful with her business in the human world.
Unfortunately, if there was someone best at psychology, it was him. He knew how to read people's emotions well, his werewolf abilities only enhanced the skill more.
"She is his fiancée, they were to get married until you came and now she might have to take the concubine position." He explained.
"Fiancée? But they are not mates?" She knew of mateless wolves getting married randomly, but as the Alpha of the pack, wasn't it forbidden for an Alpha to marry any woman that is not his mate?
"Everyone knows the Almighty Fernando. Since he is the ruler of all packs, he has the right to change certain rules as long as they don't put the pack in danger." He replied.
Angel only grew more conflicted, he has so much power, wasn't she at a disadvantage here? He has a fiancée and they seemed to get along. She could be sidelined if she doesn't play her cards well.
"Don't worry sister-in-law, you still have the upper hand until she decides to wipe you out. Who do you think Fernando would choose? She or you?" He hinted, intentionally nudging at her nerve. Compared to his brother's fiancée, he prefers having Angel as his sister-in-law. His brother's fiancée is only full of cunning skills and thanks to those skills, they managed to defeat some problems but she wasn't fit to be a Luna. She would rather be one of the advisors or a female Beta for Fernando.
"Does he love her?" She asked. That was the most important part, love is blind and once we are trapped in it, it is always hard to escape from it.
"Alpha Fernando is incapable of love. Let me warn you, do not trust him no matter how much he tries to convince you." Andras warned.
"Why?"
"There…" Just as he was about to talk, two guards walked in and unlocked Angel's cage, freeing her. Surprised, Andras scoffed and said, "Maybe I am wrong."
Confused, Angel looked at him, wanting to know the meaning behind his declaration but the guards were already dragging her away, so she could only think about his words. What could he mean by "he was wrong?"
The more she dwelled on the thought, the more confused she became so she decided to let go for now. She was more bothered about where the guards were taking her to.
"Excuse me, where are we headed?" She faced one of the guards and asked.
"You will see when we get there," the guard simply answered and she didn't ask further questions. If they weren't respecting her despite knowing who she was, then now was not the time to act up.
It took them another ten minutes to get to their destination, it was a swimming pool. The guards immediately left after directing her in, causing her to frown. Why were they leaving her here? Alone?
About to leave, a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks, causing her to turn to see who it was. Strangely, her name sounded so nice in his mouth, even though this was the first time the voice was calling her name.
"Come over here," meeting his gaze, he ordered and she nodded her head in response.
He was only in pants with no shirt on, exposing his bare chest.
"Oh we have a guest," the sexy lady from earlier came out of a corner wearing only pants and a bra, which annoyed her. Were they still fornicating even while she was present?
"I would like for us to be alone, without her." Unable to contain her envy, she requested, pointing toward the lady with an annoyed look.
"That won't be happening," slightly turning his body, he answered.
"Then I guess I would have to say goodbye," angrily, she turned her body and started walking out of the swimming pool.
"Such audacity," with a satisfied smile, Juliet muttered, angry that Angel looked down at her and happy that she was going against Fernando. The little fish was making things easy for her.
Suddenly, Angel was wrapped in Fernando's hands, the wind blowing against her face as he had just sped across to stop her.
"I.." stunned, she started, unable to form any word.
"You are my mate and would do as I command!!"
