Karl was perplexed, 'what did she just say?' He asked himself. Just then, the realization of her demands struck him. If she can't carry his child then she will carry another man's child. Karl's gaze darkened as he pictured Amelia having an affair with another man, and carrying his child.
"No!" He rebuked. How can he accept such?
"Why" Amelia asked him. She has always wanted children. So if he can have kids, then so should she.
"You're my wife!"
"And you're my husband!" She wasn't going to back down.
"Mine is different" he pressed his temple.
"And so is mine" she responded immediately. She wasn't going to be the only miserable one in this marriage. If she couldn't have children, then he won't. But if he can, then she will.
"You're the crown princess Amelia, my queen. How do you think my people will feel seeing you carry another man's child?"
"You're the crown prince Wyatt, if your people are okay with you having kids outside our marriage, then nothing is wrong."
"Amelia, you don't need a child. My child will be your child."
"And my child will also be yours." Sigh, 'she isn't easy to deal with,' Karl thought to himself.
"Amelia, your child cannot be my child, he or she won't carry my blood" He realized that the same thing was applicable to Amelia. Before she could speak,
"Fine" he breathed out.
"I can have my own child?" She was shocked, did he just consent to her request.
"No!" He replied sternly, with a death glare.
He looked over at the dining area where his family was, listening to their conversation. He locked eyes with his father, determination shining in his gaze. "I'm not doing it," he declared firmly. Without a second thought, he reached out and took Amelia's hand. Ignoring the curious gazes of the ladies, they ascended the stairs, their footsteps echoing softly in the hallway. As they entered their room.
As they entered the sanctuary of their room, she couldn't hold back her curiosity any longer. "So, you don't care about having kids?" she inquired, her voice laced with a mix of concern and longing. He turned to face her, his expression filled with sincerity and vulnerability. "I do care about having kids," he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of sadness. "But if that means you are to carry another man's child, then I'm not interested." The weight of their conversation hung in the air, a delicate balance between their desires and the complexities of their relationship.
As the weight of their conversation hung in the air, a sudden knock on the door shattered the moment. Their heads turned simultaneously, their eyes meeting in shared surprise. Without hesitation, Karl took the initiative and made his way towards the door, anticipation etched on his face. With a twist of the doorknob, the door swung open, revealing Daniel standing on the other side. The room was filled with a charged silence, heavy with unspoken questions.
"I'll be back," Karl stated, his voice tinged with a mix of determination and uncertainty. With those words, he left the room, his steps echoing down the hallway alongside Daniel. The door closed behind them, leaving her standing alone in the room, the space now filled with a palpable sense of absence.
As Amelia stood, looking at where Karl was standing not too long ago, she felt the need to be productive.
"I need to start seeking answers" she murmured to herself. 'The castle's library, I need to find Mary and Jesse.' She thought to herself. The castle is old and so is its library. The library back at Karl's palace would lack some materials. She decided to read about things related to her dreams.
Just as she was about to leave the room, a knock echoed through the door. Her curiosity piqued, she wondered who it could be. And just like that, Mary and Jesse, entered the room. They bowed to her.
"We're here to assist you change into something comfortable for..." they said in unison, their voices filled with warmth, when Amelia interrupted "There's no need for that," she gazed at them, appreciating their offer, but quickly declined."I'm not ready to retire for the day. Instead, take me to the castle's library."
They where surprised at her request, but with a shared nod, they guided her through the corridors, leading her towards the grand library.
