Amelia was getting frustrated as time went by, the golden book she thought had the answers to her questions, didn't. She has been looking through many other books for answers, but same thing.
"You thought it was going to be that easy?"a voice said in her head.
"Of course I did" Amelia said aloud without thinking. She thought that if she could get her hands on an ancient book concerning dreams, then she has gotten answers. "How stupid of me to think that it will be this easy." It was really ridiculous. For the Seer to deliver this message in person to her, then the quest she's on is definitely not an easy one.
"You're not stupid your highness" Jesse said to her. Amelia was stunned with her reply.
"Did I say that out loud?" Amelia asked looking really confused.
"Yes" Jesse replied. 'Why would I say that aloud? This has also happened before in the carriage with Karl' she recalled.
"My Queen, can you tell us what you're looking for, that way we can speed up the search" Mary suggested.
'What is she looking for?' She doesn't even know what she is looking for, but she's just searching randomly for anything related to dreams. She was about to respond and tell them to look for any material relating to dreams, when she remembered the Seers words. She's not even meant to give out a clue.
Amelia stopped walking and so did her maids. They were confused and scared as to why she suddenly stopped walking.
"Both of you should leave, I'll continue the search on my own." She declared.
"But...
"No buts, I want to be on my own." She added, interrupting Mary who was about to speak. They bowed to her, turned and left.
Amelia continued her search and was getting tired already, when she came across a book "ANCIENT DREAMS." What was surprising was the fact that she could actually understand the text. The text was written in a foreign language that she had never come across before, but she could actually read the name of the book. She took the book off the shelf, and went over to a desk to read. She flipped through the pages of the book, only to find it empty. She flipped from the beginning to the end of the book, but it was empty. Amelia was totally confused. She was already feeling sleepy and coupled with her current frustrated state, she wanted to rest badly. Before she could get up, she heard the doors to the library opening, turning her head to see who it was, she saw that it was Karl.
"What is he doing here? Does he read too?" She asked herself aloud, although she thought she asked herself inwardly.
"Yes, he does read" Karl replied with a smile on his face.
"Did I say that out loud?" She asked for the second time that day.
"Yes you did, you didn't know?" He asked.
Sigh, seems like she would have to refrain from interpersonal communication for a while.
"I didn't and it wasn't meant to be heard" she explained feeling really confused at what was happening. "And it isn't the first time it's happening." She was really annoyed, she really loved interpersonal communication, that had kept her rational for long. How could she just let go of it.
Karl also recalled that this had happened back in the carriage. "How many people have you spoken your inner thoughts to unknowingly?" He asked.
"Two, you and my maid" she replied.
"Your maid? How many times?" He looked really serious as he asked.
"Just once today" she replied, feeling scared.
"Do you think it has something to do with my dreams?" She asked again.
"That's a possibility, but what if it is because you're around Vampires?" He asked. She thought about it and it absolutely made sense. It has never happened before when she was with humans but...
"My maid is human" she reminded him.
"You're in vampires land, in a castle filled with vampires." He reminded. "You should go to bed" he added. Amelia who was about getting up, paused her actions and turned to look at him. What was going on? What is he doing?
"I will" she replied curtly. She stood up with the book in her hand and walked towards the door. 'Maybe he wants to read alone' she reasoned.
On getting to the door, Karl pushed them open for her. She stepped out and he followed suit behind her.
"Aren't you reading anymore?" He looked at her and replied "I didn't come to read, I came to bring you to bed." Amelia was about to speak, but decided not to. She was too tired, he should do as he please.
They walked in silence to their bedroom. Karl shut the door behind him and...
"We are leaving tomorrow" he declared as they entered their bedroom.
"That's good, but why?" Amelia was really curious as to why they would be leaving the next day.
"Well I declined his offer" he replied shrugging his shoulders. Karl looked at the book in Amelia's hands...
"You know that no one is allowed to see that book in your hands" He asked.
"Why?"
"It may give whoever is looking for you more clues that you are...well you" he replied massaging his temples. He hated talking too much.
"Oh" Amelia replied absentmindedly. She recalled the Seer's warnings and promised herself to be more careful.
Karl changed into something more suitable for sleeping. As he turned to face the little woman, he noticed that she was fast asleep. He smiled down at her, she looked even more peaceful while sleeping. He slept besides her. This was the first time they were sharing a bed.
Amelia was having one of her dreams, she was tossing and turning on the bed, and Karl woke up because of her restlessness. He realized she was having a nightmare. He tried to comfort her, whispering that it was just a dream. But then she screamed and sat up, drenched in sweat. Karl hugged her tightly, repeating that it was just a dream, and he gently patted her head until she calmed down.
"What did you see?" He asked her.
She was shaking her head and he thought she didn't want to talk about it until...
"I can't remember" she said. She was trying so hard to remember but it wasn't working. She was feeling really frustrated. 'Why did those dreams choose her.'
"You should go back to sleep, you'll eventually be able to recall something later" he encouraged.
"I don't want to" she was really scared, she didn't want to see those things.
Karl was about to respond, when he noticed the book that Amelia was holding earlier was glowing besides her.
"Amelia the book" he said pointing towards the book. She turned to look at the book and was stunned to see it glow. She reached out her hands and picked it up. When her fingers made contact with the book, it glowed even more.
As Amelia made contact with the book, she began to also glow, her eyes completely turned white. Karl was frightened with what he was seeing. He quickly took the book away from her hands. As he took the book away from Amelia's hands, he felt the book speaking and calling out to Wyatt. 'Why would this book call out to Wyatt, knowing that whenever Wyatt comes out, it is always difficult to put him back in.' He threw the book away from his hands and turned to look at Amelia. Amelia came out from her trance and faced Karl. She held Karl's hands and..
"Someone's planning this, people are dying Karl" Amelia said with tears streaking down her face.
"Did you recognize him?" He asked wiping away the tears from her face.
"I didn't see his face, I didn't see anyone's face" she turned to look at her hand.
"Karl the book holds the answers I seek" she declared.
