Karl looked at the book that he had thrown with an unfathomable gaze. He didn't like the way he felt when he had touched the book.
"Are you sure that this book isn't just playing tricks on you?" Karl was really skeptical about the book.
"No, I'm sure the book holds the answers I seek."
"I don't know Amelia, the Seer said you are to remember your dreams not shown your dreams" he explained.
"I need to start somewhere Karl, we are running out of time and for now the book is the only lead I've got" she didn't know when or how whatever this is was going to happen, but she felt the need to hurry up with the task assigned to her, and for now, all she got was the book. "I need to stop whatever this is,I'll continue my search for answers at your castles' library" she added. Karl looked at her and then at the book "I guess you're right"he picked up the book and quickly tossed it at Amelia. "We need to go back to sleep". "I don't want to" Amelia responded immediately looking horrified. She didn't want to see those frightening creatures again.
"Amelia you need to rest and don't forget that you need to complete your dream" he reminded her, Amelia agreed and with that they dosed off to sleep.
Amelia woke up to the sound of Karl's voice "Amelia you need to get ready we will be going soon" Karl said once Amelia was awake. She scanned the room with sleepy eyes. She saw her maids standing at one corner and she noticed that Karl was already dressed. Seeing Karl properly dressed, that was when it dawned on her that they were to return to his castle today. She dragged herself out of the bed, her maids bowed and greeted her while Karl left.
Amelia got dressed and was about to leave the room, when she turned to look at the bed. She was looking for the book, but she couldn't see it. 'It should be with him' she thought to herself. She left the room with her maids.
As Amelia arrived at the castles entrance, she witnessed a fiery confrontation between Karl and his father. His dad accused him of forsaking their bloodline for a human, questioning his feelings.
"You've decided to die with your blood and not produce an heir because of a human" his dad said. "I hope you aren't developing feelings for her, you can't be with a human" he reminded. Karl turned to face his father "I do not have any form of romantic feeling towards her. I can't be with a human and I know it." Karl firmly denied any romantic attachment, causing a sharp pang in Amelia's heart. Undeterred, she pushed past the pain and approached Karl, declaring her readiness. "I'm ready" she declared.
Meanwhile Mary's curiosity piqued when she noticed the book in Karl's hand. She squinted her eyes, wondering why he had it. Confusion filled her mind as she recalled that Amelia had been the one in the library the day before. 'What is his highness doing with this book? But it was her highness that went to the library yesterday' she thought to herself. Unlike Amelia, Mary and Jesse, on the other hand, would embark on their journey by horse. With one final gaze at the book, Mary mounted her horse, ready to set off. . She stared deeply at the book for the last time before finally mounting her horse.
"Karl" his sister Alexine called out. He turned to face her. "What is the book for?" She asked. "I'll be needing it" he replied softly.
Karl wasted no time and scooped Amelia up in his arms, swiftly whisking her away from the intense situation. When they got to his Palace, he carried her all the way to the dining area. She saw Stacey placing their meal on the table. Stacey's blood boiled as she witnessed Karl tenderly carrying Amelia in his arms.
Looking at the meal, Amelia realized just how hungry she was. As Karl placed her on her sit, she began eating immediately. Half way into their meal, the door to the dining area was flung open. Asher walked in with urgency written all over his face. He bowed and greeted the couple. He had something important to report to Karl, but he didn't know if he should say it in Amelia's presence. So he just stood there, silently staring at them. Karl glanced at him and immediately understood.
"You can relay your message" he said.
"Your highness, there has been another attack" Asher reported. Karl's gaze darkened, meanwhile Amelia was terrified.
"An attack" she asked looking from Asher to Karl, then back at Asher again. She realized something from Asher's report and it hit her "Wait, another attack?".
