Chereads / THE TRAITOR MATE / Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

TIARA

My scent was strong enough that I was able to detect it. I walked to my father's presence my head bowed low as events of my shape-shifting earlier tortured me.

My eyes became slightly watery as the image displayed in my mind. I was shocked all the while as my bones deformed forming a werewolf skeleton, grew hair, huge glowing blue eyes, and finally the fangs.

Talk about the pain, it was so immense that reminding myself of the experience made me tense for my life.

"I just received a call during your absence and saw it best to let you know. My friends and also good allies when it comes to ensuring the werewolves are extinct have good messages for us," he paused.

"With their help, we shall raid several packs which means their kind would reduce in nature." He said and I tensed my hands shaking and luckily my mom was quick to hold me firmly assuring me that everything was still in place.

"My baby was long asleep, let her rest for some time." My mom lied pulling me upstairs to my room and locked the door behind us.

"Survive and depend on your ability," She said her voice somehow cold. "_the only Pack that can ensure your survival is the goddamn strict Light Pack. Protect yourself at all costs, your life is no longer a guarantee in this place," She paused.

"To a forest known as Hishia, a woman resides in the middle of it. Only she would give you a clear answer to all your worries." I heard the words I didn't want from my mother. The world could turn their backs on me BUT NOT MY MOTHER!

I won't be able to stand that at all. "You can only visit the story after the night of the new moon. I'll talk to the Alpha of Light Pack to shelter you and see what he could do with you afterward." She said struggling hard to hide her hurt emotions.

"Use the back door, I'll use the front one, use your means to jump over that wall," She said pointing towards the fence outside and I nodded. I had never but I had to try my level best. I couldn't let my mom's efforts down.

Exceeding the required road limits, she drove and in no time a huge castle came into view. "You're lucky that your wolf didn't howl. It would be very risky for both of us."

                 GAEL'S POV

Ever since I realized that Elena and I were not fated to be one and that my mate was yet to be revealed, I have always locked my useless self into the darkest hole of my castle.

I wonder who my mate would be but I pray that she is a strong creature, one who can survive the pain of being a reject because truth be told, I would not abandon Elena for any other she-wolf be it my fated mate.

I looked at the bottles of liquor before me and I smiled. One more to go before I would order for other bottles.

"Knock knock."

I heard a knock which became somehow persistent. "Come in." I snapped irritated and Benzi the Beta of my Pack entered the room. "Make it quick," I said not turning to look at him. I knew other than him no one else would have the courage to face me whenever the new moon would approach.

"We have visitors outside, they demand only your presence." He reported and I snapped.

"You know my weakness and that means weakness for the whole Pack Benzi." I hit hard on the glass table with my Alpha abilities and it was down and scattered into pieces.

I had tried my best to protect my Pack from the Rouges Pack and wolf hunters. My Pack was the strongest when it came to everything, money and power. It was natural that we had been targeted by not only wolf hunters but also other Packs.

They believed that taking down a strong Pack would raise them to victory.

"I did a proper survey on the two Alpha Gael." He said slightly shaken because my eyes had already taken their red form. My eyes would turn bloody red whenever I was angered and I would eventually take my wolf form which was more beastly than my human form.

"I'll be downstairs in a minute," I said and he nodded locking the door. I swallowed three mouthfuls of the fine liquor to gain courage and prevent my body from shaking before the goddamn unwelcome visitors.

My body feared nothing apart from the night of the new moon when I was strongly under the great curse. If not for the Beta and Gamma of my Pack then I don't think I would make it till now.

"To what do I owe this visit?" My Alpha's strong voice echoed in the entire room sending shivers to not only the strange visitors but also the Omegas present.

Strangely, the air was filled with an enchanting aroma driving me closer to a young lady and I could feel her sniff the air. Goddammit, those were feelings I wanted only with Elena and no one else.

I looked at the woman before my presence and pulled out my dagger. She was the woman in my dreams, and that was only because I had witnessed her take the life of my fellow werewolf.

Although she was from a different Pack, Elena's Pack, I was angered by that and vowed to destroy her at all costs.

"Tell me your mission here, woman," I sniffed the air once more struggling hard to hide my innermost desire. "__human werewolf hunter," I said pulling hard on her already messed-up hair.

"Let go of my mother!" I heard her sweet voice that almost took my attention if I wasn't so strong to shoo it off.

"Watch that, it has everything you need before the new moon. In case you don't want any of this to leak out to my kind then I suggest you let me go." She said and I did as she said looking at the USB in my hand.

"Remember to follow everything as instructed in that." She said walking out and I snapped my fingers at Raul, the Gamma of my Pack. He understood my message holding the woman captive.

"Aggh! Wtf"

I heard Raul scream in pain and I turned towards them. He was all bloody and his eyes had already taken their yellow form meaning he would turn anytime soon.

"Follow my lead and none of you gets hurt." She snapped angrily and I howled.

I was damn angry, how come a visitor would come to order everyone around in my Pack? worse in my presence.

I faced her my eyes bloody red but she smiled. "I might be no match to you Alpha Gael, however, I have one weakness I could use to destroy you completely." She said and for the slightest moment, I snapped.

She can destroy me? Wait, did she have my weakness at her fingertips? I was strong and mighty but there was no way I would survive that in case she was telling me the truth.

"I need privacy," I shouted and in no time the room was clear with only two breathing souls. "What is it that you want?" I snapped and she smiled.

"I know how to retrieve the fang of the first werewolf." She said and I froze. According to The Great Prophecy and also recorded history, no werewolf would survive whenever attacked with the fang of the first werewolf.

I wonder how she could revive that though, it's recorded that upon his death, all his fangs vanished and dragged back to the moon. It was more like the moon goddess had pulled them to herself knowing how dangerous they would be to our kind.

I sighed in relief, at least she didn't know my weakness. She used the general weakness of all werewolves to threaten me and of course, worked. Who would not fret in such a situation?

"I have to sneak in to be with the rest before my husband finds out I went missing." With that, I realized that she was here illegally and if in case she wanted to hurt us she would have done that already.

I used our Pack signal to assemble only the high-ranked amongst us and that was Benzi my Beta and Raul.

"Set her free," I said and Raul quickly opened the door.

"See you at the time when you're all weak." She smiled and vanished in thin air.

"Wtf, did you see that Alpha?" Raul asked slightly shaken and I snapped out of my thoughts.

I could tell she was not a werewolf because I detected no such scent but from what she showcased no one would convince me that she was human.
