Chapter 1 - Desperation

Giant trees were the only thing that could be seen in that place, the moon was shining brightly on the world but it did not seem to reach those trees or, it was as if the darkness did not want the light to reach it.

In that place full of darkness, two intense crimson orbs suddenly appeared, they appeared out of nowhere, they seemed to be on the ground. Those two spherical orbs trembled eerily, then vanished and appeared again, as if they were.... Flickering?

*crackling*

Bone crunching and a gasping breath came from those two crimson orbs, those rose up after a few seconds reaching a height of 1.40 meters.

The bone crunching no longer audible in the great darkness, only the now regular breathing. The pair of crimson spheres stopped shaking and were now stable, disappearing and appearing from time to time.

The light at last reached the darkness or the darkness allowed it to reach it, no one knows, but, the light shone brightly and illuminated more brightly a childlike figure.

"Where am I?"

The figure moved his lips to say those words, his tone was low and hoarse but still the childish voice was evident.

That figure was that of a boy of about 11 years of age with a weak and fragile appearance, his face completely pale, looking like a dead man because of how pale and malnourished he was. His hair was shoulder-length and its color could not be said with certainty, as it was too dirty to confirm anything. His eyes were like two totally beautiful crimson bloodshot orbs that would make anyone hypnotized just by looking at him. His lips were pale blue from the cold, his body shivering from the cold, along with his sharp little nose that was reddened.

He wore multiple black robes to cover his malnourished body and protect him from the cold, though it was almost useless, it barely managed to warm him and his malnourished body was recognizable at a glance. His tunics were dirty and worn, as if the owner of those was a vagabond. Incredibly, his clothes had traces of blood here and there.

That boy now had a confused expression, looking here and there around the place, then focusing on his own body, with his hands checking to see if he was all right. His expression was turning from confused to panicked to panicked to horrified.

"I... SHOULDN'T I BE DEAD!"

His cry was so loud that some crows nearby flew away quickly, several casting strange glances at the young man who was now scanning his body up and down and down and up

Only after a few minutes of checking and an occasional cry of confusion could he regain a modicum of calm, now in a pensive state, with his left hand resting on his chin.

After another few long minutes in a state of thought, the young man finally had an expression of compression as he spoke.

"Well, I remember fighting those five goblins, I was badly damaged by their weapons and one pierced my chest with his sword, but in the end I was able to kill all five of them, although from the loss of blood I fainted.

I don't know if someone saved me from excessive blood loss or is it that by a miracle he was able to close the bleeding in time, but in conclusion.... I'm still alive!"

Finishing his story, the young man jumped with happiness, his voice was full of deep happiness and pride, after all he had just escaped from the clutches of death. Although he was weak and malnourished, he could still jump high and enthusiastically , with an expression full of happiness.

He lasted like this for another several minutes before he realized another fact, and this time the boy looked around curiously, and then walked with slow steps to the surroundings, but he could only see giant trees that were so big that he could not see the limit of their height with his eyes.

After another while, he gave up, sitting down on the damp earthen floor. His face was now at a more confused but he still kept his calm, after all, he had just lost it a while ago, he just had to enter his state of thought again, to conclude a fact.

"This wasn't the place where I was when I killed the five goblins and fainted, so, someone or something brought me here, that means I was indeed saved by someone, but then.... What did he send me here for and who saved me?"

Various questions circulated in the young boy's mind, tormenting him, making his head hurt violently.

Clutching his head, the boy had only to bite his lip to keep from screaming in pain, his face a grimace of pain. Despite all this is from wanting to recall deeper into his memories, seeing everything completely blurred in each of his memories.

"Haa... Haaa..."

Panting heavily, the young man finally stopped clutching his head and his eyes began to regain their color, as they were bloodshot before due to the pain.

Looking around the area again, he rose from the damp earthen slumber. He took a deep breath, filling his lungs with air then shouted:

"APPEAR!"

He shouted haughtily, his voice echoing throughout the place at least in a large radius. After the young man thought repeatedly, he reasoned that if he were to start walking in unfamiliar terrain it would be of great risk, plus it looks strangely scary. So, to survive in the same place would be to give up and try to live a miserable life, something he would never do.

So, he shouted for the person who rescued him to appear, if he saved him, he would not let him die if by his shouting monsters appear and try to eat him or at least that was what was more logical for him.

And soon, fate proved that he was not wrong, that his thinking was right or.... At least it was half right.

"Uh, stop yelling, I'm right next to you...."
