Lilly only stopped running when she could see the town's Main Entrance Gate. On the way, she and William hadn't even exchanged one word.
William looked at the silent Lilly and sighed. He was sure that Lilly wasn't angry, but he also couldn't determine what she was thinking. That's why he just stayed silent so as to add fuel to the fire.
In fact, Lilly had mainly forgotten about all that and was thinking of something else.
She looked at the entrance gate and said, "Looks like we're a little late."
"Huh!?" William was startled hearing Lilly talking so suddenly. But then he processed her words and followed her gaze to the entrance gate.
It was still open, but the Knights were working on it to close it. They all had a somewhat scared expression.
"But we still have time, right? They haven't closed it yet." William asked in confusion.
Lilly shook her head and said, "We can't go through the gate now, especially in our current situation."
