"Fuck this shit," Luke cursed again as he tried to rise to his feet, but he felt light-headed and fell back to a knee.
He applied more pressure to the bleeding wound on his neck, and then he placed a hand on the first corpse. With his Devour ability, Luke consumed the nutrients needed to hasten his regenerative ability and the soul core from both corpses.

Luke finally felt a bit refreshed, and the energy expended in the prior battle had been regained considerably. He took his hand off his neck and confirmed the bleeding had stopped before turning his attention back to the bloody corpses.
His facial expression turned grave and without hesitation, he left the area with hurried steps. Luke knew it was only a matter of time before beasts were attracted to the scent of blood from the corpses.
