Chapter 29 - Humans?

Luke's mind was still in turmoil as he gazed at the root with suspicious eyes.

 

"That explains why there are no bones or corpses in the town," He said in realization as chills washed over him.

 

First, it was the hilly area which had invincible boulder beasts, to the dark tunnels which had critters of various kinds, and now a town with a giant tree that turned out to be a beast.

 

At this point, Luke missed the forest.

 

Compared to everything he had gone through recently, the forest seemed cosy and safe.

 

"I can think of a way to get out of here later," Luke said. "For now, I need to rest," 

 

Since his battle with the centipede, he hadn't gotten the chance to rest. He knew he was currently at his limit and needed to give his body and mind time to recover before making his next move.

 

Luke snapped out of his reverie and began scouting for a place to rest.
