Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The True Mastermind Behind the Scenes

"A predictable release, yet it's time to issue Seto another warning," Little Tear mused with a hint of a cold smile a day later. Seto had been effortlessly released from police custody, and the seven masterpieces were returned to their rightful owner – a term that, ironically, truly applied to the three sisters of the Coming Life family.

Upon hearing the news, Little Tear's lips curved into a sardonic grin. Everything was unfolding as planned. Now, alongside making Seto's life progressively tragic, their next move was to lure out the puppeteer behind the scenes.

As expected, Seto sprang into action the next day. He started rallying his allies and superiors, calling a meeting at the top floor of the Shimbo Prince Hotel.

"Little Tear, are you content with just teaching these culprits a lesson? They are the real culprits behind your father's frame-up," Zhang Fan observed from the top floor of a neighboring high-rise, watching every move across the street. Thanks to the lip-reading skills Little Tear had taught him, he could grasp their conversation, albeit not perfectly. It was evident they were developing a fearful respect for Cat's Eye.

"Zhang Fan, you..." Little Tear looked at him in surprise, amazed at his knowledge. Was there anything he didn't know?

"Relax, Little Tear. I merely know a bit more than what's common knowledge and what's not," Zhang Fan replied, setting aside his binoculars and smiling reassuringly at her.

"Of course, it's all thanks to that 'God-making game.' But I am curious, what else do you know?" Little Tear, well aware of what Zhang Fan referred to, was intrigued about the extent of his knowledge.

"Well, the mastermind behind that organization is actually your father's twin brother, your uncle," Zhang Fan dropped a bombshell. The revelation of their father having a twin and the fact that he was the mastermind left Little Tear visibly shaken – an expression Zhang Fan had never seen on her before.

"This can't be true! Where did you hear that from?" Little Tear, momentarily losing her composed demeanor, grabbed Zhang Fan's arm anxiously. Could he possibly know the whereabouts of her father, whether he was alive or dead?

"Calm down, Little Tear. We can discuss this after we're back. Our mission takes precedence!" Zhang Fan steadied her, gently touching her shoulder. For the first time, he saw a sensitive and vulnerable side to the usually strong and enigmatic Little Tear, igniting his protective instincts.

"Alright, we'll talk later. For now, let's focus on our mission," Little Tear quickly regained her composure, ready to proceed with their plan.

Armed with a powerful crossbow, Zhang Fan shot an arrow across the street into the conference room. The arrow, carrying a Cat's Eye notice, pierced the window and landed precisely on the conference table. A tiny listening device attached to the arrow's tail was now transmitting information back to Little Tong and Little Ai.

Little did they know, the person behind it all was Haienzt's brother, who seemed to be well-acquainted with Cat's Eye's moves and prepared a cunning trap, intending to catch them in action. Zhang Fan and the sisters decided to turn the tables and play along with his scheme.

On the night indicated in the invitation, at eleven o'clock, Cat's Eye initiated their move. Seto and his men were hiding nearby, unaware that Zhang Fan and Little Ai had already taken precautions. Their simple task was to tamper with Seto's car, while Zhang Fan took care of the rest, skillfully disabling four vehicles.

As Little Tong successfully acquired the paintings, a loud explosion rocked the building. Amidst the chaos, a sports car darted out from the shadows – was this Cat's Eye?

"Chase them! Catch those damned Cat's Eyes!" Seto furiously commanded his men, only to face a bitter reality – only his car started, the others rendered inoperable.

Regardless, Seto was determined to pursue, unaware of the tracker indicating the paintings were in the speeding car. Fueled by rage and a desperate need to uncover the truth, he chased after them, oblivious to Zhang Fan's cunning plan.

"Nice driving skills. You've learned well," Little Tong complimented Zhang Fan as they sped through the streets, evading Seto's pursuit.

"Thanks to your excellent teaching," Zhang Fan replied with a grin, checking the rearview mirror. Seto's Mercedes was closing in – it was time to accelerate the chase.

As they lured Seto to the predetermined location, Little Ai was ready to spring the trap.

"Boss, the Cat's Eye car has stopped!"

"Ram it! Don't let them escape!" Seto ordered, completely losing his composure and rationality.

Suddenly, the signal disappeared, and confusion set in among Seto's men.

This unexpected turn of events was all part of Zhang Fan's intricate plan, leading Seto into a trap set by Cat's Eye. The chase through the city streets was a carefully orchestrated ruse, culminating in a thrilling climax that left Seto and his men outwitted and outmaneuvered.
