The whole room sharply inhaled their breaths. Pure did something and the light screen displayed more information.
-Blessed By XXXXX: The God does not yet want to share his name. Nor what he is the God of.
-Blessings:
>Linguist: Aurora has been blessed with the ability to read and write all known languages. (Once she is old enough to do so.) She will also learn dialects at an enhanced pace. In addition she will learn to speak all languages at an alarming rate.
>Magic Affinity: Aurora is blessed with high affinity to all magic. This ability gives her a boost to both her intelligence and magic power.
-Unique Skills:
>Inventory (Teachable): Given her high affinity for magic, Aurora is able to store things in a pocket space. (Current Size: 1 Meter) The ability will grow with her. She will be able to teach others to use this skill but it will require high knowledge in XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX magic.
>Calm Mind (Teachable): Due to her Intelligence, Aurora is an unnaturally calm baby. The reason? This skill. This skill prevents her from getting over upset or irrational. It does have limits.
Pure moved again and things once again changed.
-Bloodline: None
>Aurora is a favored child of XXXXX. As she grows she will be able to not only change her race but her bloodline if she so desires. How she changes her bloodline or adds to it is not yet decided. Until it is she will be without one.
Pure rushed to the table to write down all the information. I, of course, was still in his arms so the system page disappeared. As he wrote he looked at my Dads. "You know I have to tell the Kings."
"We know," Dad said, walking towards us.
"We'll have to move back to one of the capitals," Papa sighed. His hand went to his head and rubbed.
"Papa why are you upset?" Aiden asked.
Papa kneeled down on one knee. "Your sister is a Blessed child. That is very rare."
"Why? The Gods bless people all the time for doing something in their name," Kaden pointed out. His head turned to glance at me.
"But your sister has done nothing. There are a few God Blessed Children in every generation. Your sister will have to stay in the capital where all the Gods are. It is the best place for her to be protected."
"Your Papa really hates the capital," Dad cooed down at me. He looked at Papa, "It's more likely we will be forced to bounce between the two Kingdoms until she can tell them where she wants to stay."
Papa groaned, "That's even worse." Even so he stood up and everyone made their way back to the carriage. Once we got back home everyone acted like nothing had happened. They acted like nothing had changed so maybe they had been overreacting to spook the twins. Or so I thought.
Three weeks later two groups descended on our home. One group was dressed in blue armor the other in green. The blue group had a flag that was blue with five black stars on it. The green group had a green flag with golden jaguar spots. They all hyper focused on me as we stepped out to greet them. Papa's face was pinched but Dad laughed as he moved to greet someone on the blue side. Someone on the green side tried to approach Papa but he glared.
"Why don't we all go inside and discuss things?" Someone said. So everyone did. Papa put me in my play pin to keep me close. I still couldn't crawl yet. So I pretty much just laid on my back or stomach and forced my limbs to move. Not that they moved how I wanted them too.
The twins came over to talk to me. They actually talked to me. "Talking to a baby as if she can understand you. Your boys are not very smart Everette," that man said. He looked a bit like Papa but I still got annoyed.
"They are children themselves Uncle. How else should they talk to her?" My Papa replied.
"Her skill let her learn faster," Kaden pointed out.
"Who's to say she can't understand us?" Aiden questioned. They out right glared at the man. His brown hair was chopped short. His features weren't as soft as Papa.
"She is barely more than a new born. You boys should be training not fawning over some girl who knows nothing!" He snapped back. Oh. Hell. No. No one talks to my brothers like that. I narrowed my eyes at him.
At the same time his short hair caught fire. Everyone gasped as someone yelled for water. A bucket of water was dumped over his head by the butler. His hair was mostly charred but he was bald in some spots. I laughed. My laugh seemed to echo in the now silent room.
"Who did that?" The man yelled. No one stepped forward. Of course they wouldn't. I had done it not them.
"Calm yourself Lord BlackWell," someone from the blue side said. BlackWell. I filed the name away for later. "We are here to discuss the child after all. We are prepared to offer a villa just outside the palace with free education for the twins as well as the God Blessed."
"Same here," one of the greens stepped forward. Lord BlackWell glared at the taller man. "In addition the girl will have her choice of playmates once she starts walking and talking."
"Our King is willing to offer more depending on her gifts."
"Same."
The men turned too my Dads. Zenith looked amused by the little display. Everette was clearly not. Zenith laid a hand on Everette shoulder and squeezed gently in support. "We have already reached a decision. We will live on a rotation of three months in each Kingdom until such time at Aurora can decide which, Kai or Atlas, she would like to make her home."
"Agreed!" Blue said with a smile.
"That is agreeable for us as well," green said. He nodded at blue in acknowledgement. I, as a baby, clearly had no say in this matter.
"We will stay in Atlas first," Papa said. "Give us a week to pack what is needed and then we shall head out." After that the blue side left with smiles and waves. A few see you soon. Meanwhile green was put up in every spare room and there were still a few left to make do with camping outside.
One day while the twins were playing with me that man came to us. Dad was watching over us. Or rather he was reading a book by the fire. It had been getting colder lately. "Lord NightLeaf," he said.
"Lord SilverTree," my Dad said back. SliverTree lived up to his name. His hair was a striking sliver color. His eyes were a pale grey. He looked like he should be an elf or some snow person. He wore tight fitted green leather.
"I would like to meet your daughter and perhaps spend some time with her if you would allow." His voice was more melodic today then the hard edge he had had before.
"If she let's you near her than I suppose so. Be careful though she has a set of lungs when it coming to anything she doesn't want," he laughed, turning another page of his book. The man nodded although my Dad was not looking at him.
The twins moved away from me to give him room in my pin. I rolled onto my belly and tried to push myself up. My strength stat was miniscule at best.
"You can do it Aurora!" Aiden cried. Kaden smacked him. "Ow! You could try and encourage her."
"Her Dexterity is too low to allow that," he huffed.
"But she is grabbing things now! And even rolling over!"
"Her growth is magic focused Aiden," Kaden sighed out. "Papa already told us mages have weaker physical."
Dad chimed in, "Are weaker Physically. I have every hope your sister will round out. Her Blessings have made her weaker for now but she is still my child. She will catch up to common babies soon enough."
"Has her development been slow?" Lord SilverTree questioned.
"A bit," Dad admitted. "The boys were crawling at her age."
"Is her Dexterity her weakest stat?" He continued. His eyes met mine while I wiggled and laughed. Be a baby. Be a baby.
"It is. Intelligence is her highest."
SliverTree lifted me up and held me so my feet touched the ground. Thank the Gods! I started laughing happily now and bounced. "She isn't weak, Lord NightLeaf." Dad was looking at me. "The Gods have to balance stats to some degree even with their Blessed ones. She is just limited by her Dexterity. If you work on that she might out pace the boys in no time."
Papa slammed open the door and I jolted. My little baby brain feeling surprise and fear caused tears to form. Then I started crying. It only took a couple seconds for Calm Mind to kick in. Even so Dad was glaring at Papa. "You know better Everette!" I was being cradled to SilverTree's chest.
"But her laugh..." Papa started. "She has never laughed like that."
Dad sighed and set down his book. My attention was on something else though. A milky while point peaked through SilverTree hair. I reached for it without thinking. He really was an Elf!
"El.... El!" I tried desperately to say elf but my mouth refused. Even so Papa, Dad, and SilverTree were staring at me. He shifted me in his arms to move his hair away from his ear. I clapped and laughed. It really was an Elf! I was staring at a Lord of the rings Elf!
"She likes him..." Kaden whispered.
"Is she trying to say Elf?" Papa asked.
"When did you awaken your bloodline? I knew you looked different," Dad said.
