Chapter 25 - Chapter 25

It was night already and Amelia, Belle, and Milo had all gotten into the car that the girls brought. Amelia was situated at the back while Belle was seated in the driver's seat and Milo in the passenger's seat.

The light in the car was on and Amelia wanted to take off her mask because of how uncomfortable and hot she felt, but she could not do that. Belle noticed it and turned the lights in the car off, so everywhere became dark.

She started a conversation with Milo to get him distracted from Amelia "So nice family, huh?" She said as she ignited the car. Milo chuckled "The best" He groaned because of the pain he felt on his face and body. He relaxed his head on the seat as he closed his eyes "Helps to keep me on my toes though" he said in a calm voice.

"They are lucky I'm not part of that. It would have been full on war" Belle smirked. She was a woman who enjoyed thrillers because her life had always been like that. Her love life never worked out, her normal life was never normal, even her best friend did not live a carefree life. So Milo's type of family was the kind that would fit her preference perfectly.

"We could switch places then" Milo offered "But I'm keeping my parents". Belle laughed a little "Deal".

Amelia at the back had her mask off, but her hair covered her face a little bit. "Ivanov" she called out to Milo in her usual way "Yes, Miss Amelia" He drooled with his eyes still closed and his head relaxed.

"Explain, would you?" She requested, and Milo being the lover boy he was gave her everything in full details.

"They are worried that my father will have to give the family business to me because I'm the most competent of all of them, but I have made it crystal clear to them more than a thousand times that I do not want to even have anything to do with a legacy, so they tried to make me sign an agreement to reject the company even if our father tries to give to give it to me, and then you showed up".

Amelia nodded "So are you still sticking to that?" Amelia asked and he hit her with a question back "Did I sign the agreement?". Amelia did not reply, but a small smile appeared on her face.

Belle who felt like their discussion to be totally boring wanted to bring in the heat everyone was trying to push away. "So when did you both get married?" She asked with a raised eyebrow "Because I don't remember being to any wedding recently"

"Belle" Amelia warned, but Belle was not listening "No, hear me out. You could have said 'Well, I'm his friend' or you could have moved on without having to say anything, but you went with 'I'm his wife'?" Belle said and laughed.

Amelia was glaring so hard at Belle's head that her eyes could have driven holes through her skull.

"I liked it though" Milo said silently and everywhere went completely quiet.

Everyone had remained silent through the entire ride until they got to the city. Belle told Milo to put his house address on the GPS and he did so, leading Belle to his home.

They had gotten there and Belle pulled up to his driveway. Belle and Amelia accessed the house.

Belle looked at him "Simple life, I see" she commented.

Milo's house could not be considered too big or too small. It was a four bedroom Craftsman style house which gave off a homely vibe that anyone would want to succumb to.

Amelia looked at his house and felt drown to it. She did not know why, but she felt like the house was calling her in, and she wanted so badly to accept its call.

Milo looked at Belle, then back to his house "You call this simple? It takes me three days to get the whole house cleaned up myself" he said and Belle laughed. She was worse because she never cleaned up.

He looked back to her "Thanks for the ride" he smiled, but Belle looked at him like he was crazy "Thanks for what? You owe me two for saving you and bringing you back home"

"Technically_" Milo wanted to object, but Belle caught him off "Nah, I'm the one who found you, not her. So you owe me two, got that?" She asked again and he nodded. He was able to understand how Belle and Amelia were friends.

Milo began to walk to his eyes after they said their good-byes, but he turned back to Belle"Right. I don't know your name". This made Amelia wind down the car window of her side to look at him. She had worn her mask at some point in the car.

"Why do you need to know her name?" She asked. Her voice came out a little dry and cold because of how tired she was. Milo turned to her "I have to be able to contact her for the debt I owe her" he spoke to her like he was taking permission from her.

"You don't need to know her name. You can pass all information through me" Amelia concluded winding her glass back up. Belle looked at Amelia through the rear view mirror and was so ready to laugh.

Milo also could not contain the smile on his face. It seemed like his two years with her finally was showing development. He nodded and waved them off as Belle drove away.

Belle finally let out her laugh as Amelia took her mask off again. "He only asked for my name Amelia, not my number" she said in between laughs.

"So?" Amelia questioned "So you did not have to be so possessive. You gave yourself away right there" Belle finally calmed down from her laughing section.

"But do you know that guy actually likes you? May I even dare say that he loves you" She looked at Amelia briefly before looking back at the road.

"What?"

"What?" Belle retorted because she did not understand how Amelia never noticed it. "Even the way he looks at you says a lot. When we were back there, the man could not get his eyes off you. His eyes were totally saying 'Yeah, that's my woman'. I felt all jiggly inside" Belle smiled from ear to ear wiggling in her seat.

Amelia just rolled her eyes because she did not have the strength to deal with Belle and her talks.

The car ride was quiet for a while, and then Belle decided to be Belle and sang quietly "Amelia and Milo sitting on the tree K-I-S-S-I_ No!!!" She exclaimed at Amelia who was suddenly pointing a gun at her. "You play too much girl" Belle said and laughed and Amelia left her.
