Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Amelia dropped the photo immediately she saw it and moved back from the table. She looked around in confusion, her eyes moving from one side to the other. She held her head with her hand and closed her eyes as a feeling of dizziness had come on her.

Her head was not in the right place, and she was slowly loosing herself.

She shook her head "No..." She slurred "No.. no.. no" she said repeatedly as she took slow steps away from the table, away from the pictures.

She squatted while holding her two hands to her head. The moments she had with her parents suddenly began to come to her.

Eduardo stared deep into his daughter's eyes, and she stared at him with the same intensity, then they both smiled locking their pinky fingers together and stamping it with their thumb.

"You won't tell your mother, right?" He asked the little girl with sweet eyes and she giggled "As long as you don't tell her anything as well" she agreed with him.

"But why did you go out, my darling? I told you it's too dangerous out there" he became serious with her and she pouted "But father, I saw cars coming in, so I thought everyone would be busy with the visitors" Amelia answered in a cute voice, and Eduardo could only sigh.

He looked at her downcast face and pulled her to his broad chest and she began to giggle "Daddy is like a rock. Why is your chest so strong?" She asked as she hit him on his shoulders, but got hurt instead and he laughed.

Lucille opened the door to Amelia's room with food in her hands. She looked at her sweetheart reading a book by her desk and she smiled. "Come, my love. Come eat" She said to her as she kept the food on the dining table in Amelia's room.

Amelia, not taking her eyes from the book, took it up and went to sit at the dining table, then she looked at her mother "Mother, why are you so beautiful?" She asked her mother with all sincerity and Lucille laughed a little.

"That's because God made me this way darling" She said as she arranged Amelia's food in front of her. Amelia asked her mother again "If God made you this way, that means He made me the same way, right?" She asked cutely and Lucille nodded smiling at her "Yes, my baby. He made you the same way. You, my love, are even shining with His light on you" she pinched Amelia's cheeks and brought their nose together. Amelia laughed heartily with her mother.

The photos of her parents and her memories of them contrasted badly in her head.

She did not know when the first tear left her eye, and then the next one, then they all started to come like waves.

Why did things have to turn so bad for her? Why did it have to be her? She never had a real life from the beginning, so why did it have to be worse now?

She looked up to the table and glared at where the photos were. Her glare was able to send anyone running for their lives, because she looked menacingly at the photos.

She stood up from her position and stood to her full height, then she took slow steps to the pictures, her heels making sharp sounds as it connected to the ground.

She stood at the head of the table and looked down at the pictures. She tried so hard to be strong, but her tears welled up in her eyes blurring her vision, but she did not let them fall. No, she would not give those bastards the joy of seeing her crumble twice.

Slowly, the tears began to clear from her eyes while she still stared at the photo. After it was all gone, she took out the photo and there was a letter attached to it. She read through it slowly.

Dear Amelia

I tried making them smile for the camera, but they wouldn't give in even for their daughter. I know, what kind of parents are they?

Anyways my dear, this is the current state of your parents, and from what I see, you don't seem to care after our first conversation the other time. Don't you care about them anymore? I won't be able to do anything if you stop caring now. Please keep loving them and searching for them. You might just find them dead on the street one day. Who knows?

I just wanted to let you in on the current situation of your two beloved parents. The pleas they make as they tell me not to hurt you, it's exceptional. But don't worry, your time is not now. Maybe in three months?

Don't be scared now darling, that's not how you are. I'll give you two months to find me and your parents. After that, the next package you'll see from me is their bodies.

Ta-ta now, I have two dogs to put in their places.

She closed the letter and slammed it on her desk after reading it. Then she suddenly began to laugh. It started off slow, and then she was full on laughing.

She looked straight ahead like she was staring at the writer of the letter.

"You want to be the psychopath huh? Too bad, I'm one second away from being diagnosed as a sociopath because of you. You think you know crazy? Your knowledge must be limited then, because you just called on Crazy herself" she said as she continued to stare menacingly at the door.
