It was Tuesday, and Amelia had booked her flight for the next day. The business jet she had was being prepared for take off the next day. She decided to give Brittney the whole week off to avoid unnecessary suspicions from her.
Amelia arrived at work alone in a mid-length cream colored gown, a long navy blue coat, and a 6 inch lace back over the knee black boots. She was also wearing a navy blue and black colored mask and holding a cream colored bag. It was December, and Amelia easily got chills due to the cold weather, so her coats were her go-to outfits. But because she knew how to primp herself up, she always made it look like a new thing to everyone.
She walked into the building and everywhere went silent and all heads bowed to her, as usual. After she walked into her private elevator, they all began to make comments on her outfit like they always do.
"I don't know where she gets her fashion sense from" A female worker shook her head as she arranged the files in her hand. "What do you mean you don't know? It's Amelia's Fashion sweetheart" Another worker said and they all laughed.
Amelia got to her office and met a young girl sitting in the place of Brittney and she tilted her head. She looked not more than 20.
"Who are you? And what are you doing here?" She asked in a calm voice as she slowly walked to the girl. The girl immediately stood up from her seat when she saw Amelia. She looked at Amelia from bottom to top in admiration, and then she shook her head a little and looked directly to Amelia's eyes.
"Umm.. Good morning President Amelia. I work in the executive floor, and I am the replacement for whenever Brittney is not around. She told me to stay in her place since you gave her a time of break" She said to Amelia. She could not help the broad smile on her face. She had always wanted to work directly with Amelia, but Brittney was always around and she never got the chance. But now, her time has finally come.
Amelia nodded "What is your name then?" She asked again and the girl replied enthusiastically "My name is Arabel, President Amelia" . She looked at the girl for a while "Your face will get hurt if you keep smiling like that" She said calmly as she walked into her office. Arabel's smile only broadened as she followed Amelia into her office.
Amelia walked to her desk. She dropped her bag on the table, took off her coat and sat on her chair, but she looked up to see Arabel with her in the room. She looked at her coldly "What are you doing in here?"
Arabel was more confused than shaken "Umm.. Won't you like.. Coffee?" She asked in an unsure manner and Amelia rolled her eyes a little. She forgot the norms of PAs.
"I don't take coffee, don't worry about it. Leave" She dismissed her and turned her attention to her computer, so Arabel bowed respectfully and left.
After she was gone, Amelia looked to the door and sighed a little. She moved her hands to her mask and took it off, then she took her towel handkerchief from the table and wiped her face.
Suddenly, Arabel came into the room "President Amelia, Brittney told me..." Her words went to the back of her head as her and Amelia's eyes connected and she brought her hands to her mouth.
Milo was in his kitchen heating up the food Alexandr brought for him the previous day when he heard a knock on the door. He moved to the living room and then to the door. He opened it to see Nick. (A/N Remember Milo's PA? Refer to chapter 6)
Milo looked at him surprised "Oh, you are alive" He said sarcastically and Nick smiled "I'm sorry sir. An emergency came up at home and I had to travel back" He bowed respectfully to his boss.
Milo left the door open for him to enter as he walked back to the kitchen and Nick entered inside.
"What was the emergency about that you could not take time out of the three weeks you were gone to call me?" Milo asked him. The microwave made a 'ding' sound indicating his food was all warmed up. He wore his oven mitts and took the food out.
Nick scratched the back of his neck a little "It was my father again. They said he kept asking for a man named Eduardo". Milo paused and looked at him. Nick continued "And he kept saying he would kill himself and anyone who got close to him if they did not bring Eduardo to him. They were friends? I don't really know about that" He took the things out from the bag he brought.
Milo took his food and went to the dining. He sat down on the head chair "Do you know Eduardo?" Milo asked and Nick shrugged as he sat down on the couch "I don't. My mother only told me when I was there that Eduardo was someone my father did business with. But they stopped after they had my second sister, because Eduardo was growing fast in the dangerous side of the world. Apparently, they did not want to have anything to do with him because anyone involved with him would take the fall with him if anything happened. I'm definitely sure that's not all though, but I didn't stress it" He concluded.
Milo nodded as he continued to eat "So why did they need you there?" He asked again and Nick answered "Well, I'm the first and only son, so I need to be there in case anything happens".
Milo pointed to the kitchen "Take food and eat. Just know it might be poisoned". Nick chuckled and moved to the kitchen to take food "Thank you for your generosity Mr. Milo"
Arabel was seated opposite Amelia. Amelia did not have her mask on because she knew that Arabel had already seen her face, so she saw no use in hiding it anymore.
Amelia groaned a little "My face has been hidden perfectly for nineteen years, but it took only opening a door without knocking to reveal it" She scoffed "How ironic".
Arabel closed her eyes "I'm sorry, President Amelia" She said meekly as she withdrew into her seat. Amelia stared at her "So? Did you un-see my face?" Her voice came out cold and Arabel shook her head slowly.
Amelia stared at the girl and how downcast she looked. Then she sighed and said "Am I beautiful?". Arabel looked up immediately. When she saw the serious expression on Amelia's face, she smiled broadly "You could rival Aphrodite, President Amelia" she expressed herself, but Amelia shook her head "Aphrodite is a myth, darling. I'm real" She smiled at Arabel, and she nodded agreeing with her.
Amelia looked down before looking back up to Arabel "Well, the deed has already been done. If this were ancient times, I would have probably slit your throat" She said seriously and Arabel made a slight gasp surprised.
"But since we are not, I'll just have to make sure you stay quiet. Can you do that for me?" She asked the girl, and Arabel nodded "Yes, President Amelia. I will make sure no one hears of this. Should I swear my loyalty to you?" Arabel took her right hand to the left side of her chest, and Amelia immediately shook her head moving back "That us not necessary. Even if you decide to do anything, there are many ways I can handle you" She said and Arabel nodded taking her hands down from her chest.
Amelia looked at her for a while and a thought came to her head "I'm going on a business trip tomorrow, and I need you to come with me. Is that okay?" She asked and Arabel eyes widened.
'First day on the job and I'm going on a business trip? Ahhh'. In her head, there was chaos, but she calmly replied " Yes, President Amelia. I will gladly go with you" She smiled.
