Amelia, Belle, and Arabel were the first to head into the ferry, and Amelia had booked the entire part of the first class for the privacy of herself. She wanted to believe that no one here would know about her, even though there were chances of them using her products, but she did not want to risk it and decided to stay away from everyone completely.
Amelia and Belle sat together while Arabel sat in front of them. When they were situated on their seats, Amelia immediately took off her mask and her face had little specs of sweat. Amelia never wore makeup because of situations like this.
Belle saw this and she took out a clean handkerchief from her bag and wiped her face slowly.
"Don't you think it's time you let go of this?" She asked Amelia with a very neutral voice, but she was pained in her heart. How hard it is for her friend to cover her face every single time without a break.
Amelia smiled as Belle continued to wipe her face "That moment will be soon. I'm just not ready yet" She turned her face over to Belle for her to get a good clean of her face. When Belle was done, she tucked her handkerchief back into her bag.
People were beginning to head in as the three women were hearing noises and footsteps. When everyone had gotten on board and the ferry boat captain was ready, the ferry set out for Giannutri.
Around an hour later, they had arrived on the island of Giannutri. Everyone began to go down and the excited voices of the people was beginning to get to Amelia. "And this is the reason I don't like public places" Her voice came out in a grown. Belle only smiled and looked away.
After the place had gone quiet and they noticed that all the people were gone, the three women decided to get down as well. When they had arrived the exit, the path was cleared as all the people who had got down had already started their tour.
Amelia looked around after they had gotten down, wondering what she would make Arabel do while herself and Belle figured out how to find the guy they came for. She did tell Arabel it was a business trip.
An idea immediately came to her mind. Who said she could not actually do business while she was here? The smile she had made what she was planning obvious, but nobody saw it.
"Arabel" She called out to her and Arabel immediately answered her "Yes, President Amelia". Amelia came close to her "I need you to do something very important. Can you do that?" She asked sweetly. Arabel thought she was hearing things. Amelia wanted to give her something important to do.
Arabel could only stare blankly and then what came out of her mouth was "What?"
Amelia then changed the question "Are you not up to the task?" And Arabel immediately came to her senses "What? No, I can do it. I'm telling you, I can" she went into convincing mode and Amelia's eyes squinted showing the fact that she was smiling.
"Good. What I need you to do is very important because it will determine if I can open a branch here in Giannutri. It might look like just an Island, but you'll never know. I mean, it is a very big Island" She said as she took a while to look around the island.
Arabel nodded in agreement "That's not wrong. So, what do you want me to do?" She asked in a professional voice and Amelia could not help the swelling in her heart at Arabel's passion.
"What I need you to do is take a survey of as many people as you can, it does not matter the number. To add to your task, maybe try to find a possible place for the construction. If that's not possible, figure out something" Amelia laid out the orders.
Arabel nodded and took out a notepad and pen from her bag and wrote down the things Amelia said.
Belle who was watching them all the while could not help but ask "Do you always carry that around?". Arabel looked at her and smiled "Emergency. Like this one" she chuckled and then turned to Amelia "Do not worry, President Amelia, I'm going to put my all in this. Can I start now?" She asked eagerly, ready to get to work, and Amelia gave her the go ahead, so she went off.
Amelia turned back to Belle and Belle gave her a weird look "Seriously? Work at this very moment?" She shook her head, but Amelia gave her reasonable explanation "I had to look for something to send the girl away and that was the only thing I could think of" She began to walk and Belle followed after her.
"She looked like she would obey you if you told her to jump into the fire" Belle said and chuckled, but Amelia smirked "That's because she knows I wouldn't tell her to do that".
Belle decided to test the waters " But you'll tell me, huh?" She asked and Amelia turned her face to her "I'll probably be the one trying to stop you from jumping into the fire for me" She commented and both of them laughed a little.
It was silent for a while, but Belle broke the silence "So what happened to Brittney? You've not told me yet?" She asked the question that had been hanging since they were in Rome.
Amelia stopped and looked around for a while and continued walking. "I got another message from the unknown person, and I took your advice" She paused and then continued to speak "My mother and father were covered in blood and bound with chains, Belle" Her voice came out very neutral, but Belle who knew her more than that felt the stab and pain she was feeling.
When Amelia did not hear anything from Belle, she turned back to check if she was still with her, but Belle began to walk ahead of her "Can you walk a little faster? Time isn't going to wait for us."
Amelia could hear the slight crack in her voice and how she tried holding it in, so she walked up to her and covered her eyes. Belle tried pushing her hand away "Hey! What are you doing?" But it was all to no avail, then Amelia took her hand away willingly."The world is not allowed to see you cry, remember?" She reminded her of her famous motor and Belle looked at her for a while and chuckled, making the small tears gathering at her eyes to disappear and Amelia smiled at that. They both continued the journey.
They were just heading in random directions enjoying the view and also searching for what seemed like a place where their target would be.
"Were you not able to track the exact location?" Amelia asked as she looked around. There were a lot of people doing different things together, so she was not really getting a good view. Belle used her hands to move her hair to the back while combing it with her fingers "This is the exact location. If you're talking about the EXACT location, you must think I'm the FBI or something."
It was at that moment Belle's eyes was drawn to a man with a peculiar scar on his neck. As she squinted her eyes and kept her hand over them, she saw him coming out of a restaurant with bags in his left hand and his right hand in his pocket. Her slight frown slowly turned into a smile.
"Call it destiny, huh?" She said to herself.
