𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 41: Investing the points
"It took you long enough!"
Hex heard this voice after he shut the door gently. That voice brought back a sense of nostalgia.
He wasn't bewildered by it, because the woman that owned that voice was the only way to open his apartment door.
Hex bluntly turned around to the person. It was a female older than him, with long flowing black hair, she lyed on his white bed wearing a short trouser and a short pink singlet.
That was her.....
'The confusing witch is back!'
The lady gave a silly grin to startle Hex which it obviously did. "I told you to hang out with me that night!"
She seemed pretty mad.
Hex was tensed staring at this being. Her history was obnoxious.
It was a few years when Hex met her, she was always living in this hotel and schooled with Hex during his youngest age.
What confused Hex consecutively was when she asked him to be her boyfriend. Yes that was how that day began.
However at the latter of the day, Hex ended up being the one begging for the relationship to happen.
'She manipulated me to ask her out when it became the other way around.'
Repeatedly Hex had tried to end this relationship, though anytime he tried his best to, they would end up breaking up and he would beg again for the relationship.
At most she also had her advantages as his girlfriend. No matter, he still despised her presence.
"I had work to do! Do I even need to explain?" Hex screamed out defensively.
If only it was that easy to throw her off his trace...
She shook her head allowing strands of her hair to shroud a part of her face. She gave a slight moan and spoke after, "and that night i was prepared to lose my virginity."
This made Hex choke on his decision. He knew she was laying out her mind tricks but rulefully spat at the idea of missing this opportunity.
'No Hex, hold yourself together! Rukia just wants to weaken you.'
{I have always wanted to watch you have sex with her}
'Why do you sound like we haven't had sex before dumbass?'
Rukia slowly alighted the bed to stand on her feet. The way she anchored her body around, made her seem like she was drunk and sober.
However she wasn't.
"I met your sister Chloe and it turns out you are the only dick in your family!" Rukia finally reached Hex placing both hands on his chest softly.
'Uhm.... Seriously, why do you have to say dick like that?'
Hex maintained his facial formation to hide his disarrayed attention. "Sorry Witch, I don't have time today nor tomorrow for your hassling."
Rukia formed a puzzled look, "why? I thought you are going to take the kids out for shopping or whatever, don't tell me your broke! Poverty has pinned your neck...."
"Shut up Rukia, you will be taking them for me, I will pay you ten thousand coins, now get out of my room!" Hex was sharp and void of emotions. At least that was what he wanted her to believe.
"I would leave only because you closed a red gap today!" As Rukia mentioned this, she recieved a shoked gasp from Hex.
This made Rukia's smile to deepen. "Don't worry Chloe didn't see it, I brought your laptop here before she could."
Rukia withdrawed her hands from Hex's chest walking to the door opening and shutting it behind her.
She didn't even wait for his consent to leave.
After a long time of pondering Hex let's out an unhinged exhale nestling on the outskirts of his bed.
Hex was quite puzzled however elated that Rukia found the information about the red gap and hid his laptop from Chloe.
If Chloe was to figure out about him going way over his might with a dangerous, overwhelming gap.....
'Let's just say I am pretty lucky to have my witch girlfriend.'
{User Skill Update}
Hex became eager once more. A skill update sounded rather nostalgic. The last time he got a notification about it was years ago, when he activated a new skill. Luckily he had unlocked another.
"Display my skill list!" Since no one was around he could finally speak to the Phantom by mouth.
{Skills}
Passive skills: 3
Active Skills: 1
Dead response lv.9
*Passive
Regeneration lv.7
*Passive
Body strengthening lv.2
*Passive
Battle instinct lv.3
*Active
Now he possessed three passive skills. Rather the new skill was the skill that saved his life in the red gap.
During the times he took deadly hits from the Rock soul Titan, his body should have been completely decimated, torn apart.
However thanks to this new skill his body gained a good resistance to monstrous hits.
Though his normal skills still remained subtle, Hex wished he could make them level up without proper training.
'Come to think of it, I should probably invest my points.'
Hex introspected all the times he had acquired a useless material he didn't want. He remembered himself always muttering for it to be trashed.
'Shit, I was surely a big fool then. I should have converted the useless materials to points....'
Hex goaded him counting more than dozens of materials he had stupidly trashed.
"Display my stats." The next notification instantly appeared.
{Stats}
Strength: 499
Agility: 233
Senses: 81
Stamina: 136
Intelligence: 46/200
Fatigue: 00
Cursed Mana: 1660/1660
Points: 17
Hex clobbered himself to deep pondering once more. The best option was a gamble between speed and strength.
To Hex he would preferably go for strength, since his speed had been left unmatched by any since a long time.
What he was missing was strength.
He was quick enough to have sprang foward to the Titan but when he attempted to drive his axe through it's face he failed woefully.
Although if his strength was outstanding, he would have done more damage than being a shaving stick to scrub the titan's face.
'Also too much strength and speed would tip the balance of my stamina and I would get exhausted real fast.'
During the years, Hex learnt how much of a deal his stamina was o keeping his fatigue rate low.
Stamina allowed his durability and versatility, not to forget dexterity. It increased the rate at which he could hold all this attributes up for a period of time.
So he also needed to invest to stamina next. Senses was enough.
Intelligence was the next problem child.
Hex didn't find a reason to invest in this point. He didn't feel the need to be so intelligent in using his power.
'Why would I invest points to an attribute that halfly works?'
{Upgrading that attribute might still be helpful}
Hex ignored the Phantom and looked into the next attribute.
'Why the fuck will I invest to fatigue when I clearly means I would get tired?'
Hex didn't waste time in making his decision now. He was sure of what he wanted, the other attributes would have their turn later.
{Stats}
Strength: 510+11
Agility: 233
Senses: 81
Stamina: 140+4
Intelligence: 47/200
Fatigue: 00
Cursed Mana: 1660/1660
Points: 00
'Hey bastard I invested two points into intelligence, why is it displaying one.'
{Every attribute has it's tax}
Hex reclined his back to his bed shutting his eyes alongside the world. Blinding himself from all the Phantom Notifications.
'Not only do I pay normal tax, but Phantom taxes too.'
Hex's conciousness began to fade out fast.
He only wondered the scope this new world was headed to.
'An era of Cursed gaps.'
