Chapter 43: Into a Phantom Gap
Almost immediately as it finished, Hex felt a sharp throb in his chest that told him, yes! You are going to die.
Hex tries to defy this point however couldn't as he was faced by a much grievous agony.
"Ghuuukk!" Hex's mouth sparng wide open with a cacophony of blood flying everywhere.
'Shit what the fuck is happening?'
"Gahaacck!" Another flow of blood exited his mouth followed by a tight throb in his heart that caused him to drop his phone from his grasp.
Up until now, he hadn't noticed the voice over the phone. But what did it matter to him?
"Hello!"
"Hello! Do you think it's fun to prank the cursed Slayers?"
'Damn! That bitch....'
Another knot on his heart was pulled causing him to fall down to his knees reverbrating violently.
"Arrrggfhhh!" The next wave of pain began from Hex's eyes, instead of it watering with tears, it was instantly drowned with his blood.
{Death factor worsening}
Hex's eyes began to bulge after witnessing this notification. His death was about to worsen, how.....
"UWAACK!!! KAAGGAAH!!!" Hex's left hand instinctively grabbed the shoulder of his right. It was paralyzed by pain.
Under this immense agony Hex managed to share his sight to it.
His entire arm was swelling like a ballon, a deformed one at that fact and was going to pop at any moment from now.
Hex let out another cry from his lungs. He couldn't comprehend what was fully going on. However was sure this was the punishment for not entering the gap on time.

Hex's arm exploded into blood all of a sudden, sending a shockwave through his entire being. This caused Hex to let out a heart throbing cry.
"HAAAGAAAACCCK!" He tried his best to hold down his scream but all his efforts worsened it more.
'Shit, I can't.....'
A sharp pain struck into Hex's heart causing him to tremble and kowtow, his face down to the ground.
His strength to scream had been explicitly drawn from him. The blood that spewed out of his other arm, felt unreal. Even Hex couldn't comprehend what just happened.
It didn't take time before the pain also became fantasized. His eye lids became heavy and his heart started to slow down.
'Shit, this hurts even more than getting my head bit off.'

{A Reward of 10 minutes has been granted}
'Reward.... Does this mean I.... Phantom begged?'
As Hex's eyes was about to close, his energy instantly came back to him. Every ounce of pain also dissipated and within seconds he felt normal again.

Hex could perceive the difference in this notification. This was Phantom, at least the one he knew off.
"What the fuck just happened?"
{The Rulers took control and offered you a propsal}
"Explain," Hex's voice was weak and shivering, still undergoing the effects of almost dying.
{You refused the Rulers proposal by not entering the Gap}
{I advise you do so now}
Hex still had pressing questions he would like to find answers about.
To believe there was a being pulling the strings behind the Phantom, who could it be?
"What is that gap? How did you create it?"
{It is a Phantom generated gap}
{It was handed over to you as a reward by the Rulers}

This didn't sound like any sort of reward to Hex. He would die if he refused the invitation. An invitation he wasn't didn't know anything of.
Another thing was hearing about the Rulers, who were they? And how did they create a gap on their own?
Hex wanted to ponder more of this thoughts but unfortunately he was limited to time here.
{I know you have little trust and do not want to enter the gap, but do it for your sake, for me too and Chloe}
{The Rulers will not shed any light of pity if you fail to accept their invitation again}
"Phantom.... You begged on my behalf?" Hex was a little anxious and his voice spoke truly of it.
The Phantom took otherwise a longer time to reply.
{Yes, I couldn't bare seeing you in such a position}
Hex's eyes almost watered to the sight of the notification. Phantom would willingly risk everything for Hex.
Throughout the years, Hex had thought of him to becoming more system like, but now. He could vouch for the Phantom was.....

Hex's eyes ogled at the notification, he instantly turned his gaze to his blown off arm. It was back to normal, healed but still have blood stains all over it.
"Thank you!" Hex immediately rose to his feet not wasting any time to pack up for the journey.
While he did this he thought very thoroughly about the Phantom. The Rulers and the generated gap.
After a short while, changing to a purple hooded jacket and dark trousers, wearing red sneakers he engaged the Phantom in a conversation once more.
"How much time do I have left?" Hex wasn't the type to rush in, especially to what he feared the most.
Though he also got scared like anybody else, he wouldn't show it. Every night he had nightmares.
Countless ones about his mother, his former life and all his friends dying.
His heart was to be cold and rock hard devoid of all emotions. Thanks to the Phantom, Chloe and so many others..... Hex could keep his sanity.

Hex puffed his cheeks and exhaled hard from his lungs. "How powerful do you think this gap's monsters are."
{I have never been to a Phantom generated gap before master}
{Since it was imposed by the rulers, there is a hundred percent chance we will be overpowered and die ripped apart}
Hex gasped, even with how strong he had gotten, he was still not a match for this gap.
A forceful invitation, he couldn't reject.
"I guess this might be our last moments together," Hex began to walk to the surreal swirling gap in front of him.
He began to bid all he loved a silent farewell.
Hex took his very few steps into the gap, feeling the world behind fade instantly.
'Good bye, Chloe, hope we meet again.'
