Xiang Ling stared at the unconscious man in shock, her eyes staring at the mark on his forehead that was slowly fading.
"Why... why is he here?" She asked out loud but there was no one to answer her question.
Being the blue star, she recognized the true identity of Wei Guang the moment she saw the mark on his forehead. Not only her but anyone from the Heavenly and Celestial Realm knew that mark and the person who carried it - the Night Immortal. He was the King of the Celestial Realm who ruled the galaxy and all the Celestial beings living in it. The mark on his forehead was the Celestial mark and only a Celestial King could carry one.
However, the great Celestial King was now a weak mortal. Was the Night Immortal undergoing his life tribulation?
This seemed like the only explanation Xiang Ling could think of behind the current state of the great Celestial King.
Suddenly, a horrible thought entered her mind. She was currently in the body of the woman who had tortured the great Night Immortal for an entire year. What if the Night Immortal regained his true identity and decided to punish her? Being the Celestial King, he was her ruler, and if he decided to punish her, not even the Heavenly Emperor would be able to save her.
A chill ran down Xiang Ling's spine and she hurriedly shook her head to get those horrible thoughts out of her mind. It wasn't too late yet, if she tried, she could change her fate. Right?
She hurriedly returned to the bed and checked the pulse of the unconscious man. He had started to shiver and she also noticed the sweat beads that were covering his forehead. He was having a high fever!
Panicking, Xiang Ling moved her hands to summon her Immortal powers to heal the man but stopped when another thought entered her brain. Though it was almost impossible, there was still a chance that her Immortal powers could unlock the hidden powers of Wei Guang in his current vulnerable state and unlock his true identity. In this way, she would not only end up disturbing the life tribulation of the Night Immortal but would even lose the chance to change her image in his eyes.
The hands that were ready to call the Immortal powers immediately returned to her sides and Xiang Ling stared at unconscious Wei Guang in apprehension. Why the Celestial King had to end up in the hands of the original owner of the body out of millions of people living in the Mortal Realm?
Among all these miseries, there was at least one good thing. Since the Night Immortal was currently a Mortal, he could be healed by Mortal medicines.
"Physician! We need a Physician." Xiang Ling murmured to herself and then looked around the chamber as if searching for someone. But obviously, no one was there. She called out Fu Xiao's name several times but to no avail.
"Where is this girl? She's my personal maid but hardly around me. She comes and goes at her wish." Xiang Ling complained as she searched through the room to look for more blankets.
On the other hand, Fu Xiao, who was on her way to bring dinner to Xiang Ling, sneezed. "Ah! What a horrible rain."
---
When Fu Xiao entered the bedchamber of Lady Xiang Ling, she wasn't expecting to see such a sight.
Master Wei Guang was sleeping in the lady's bed while Xiang Ling was rubbing his hands as if to warm them up. The pale face of Master Wei scared Fu Xiao who hurried forward and placed the food crate on the bedside table.
"My Lady, what's wrong with Master Wei?"
Xiang Ling was so occupied in warming up the freezing Wei Guang that she didn't notice anyone entering the bedchamber until she heard Fu Xiao's familiar voice. "You finally remembered to come here. Where have you been all evening?"
Fu Xiao hurriedly kneeled as she noticed how angry her Lady was. "Please forgive me, My Lady. I was preparing your dinner in the kitchen."
"You... forget it and quickly stand up. Ask servants to bring a tub of cold water and a towel here. Lit up a brazier to warm up the chamber and bring more blankets. Also, send someone to call a Physician." Xiang Ling hurriedly instructed but noticed that the girl didn't move at all.
"What is it?" She asked while turning her attention toward the girl.
"My Lady, there are no servants here. I won't be able to do everything on my own in this rain." Fu Xiao answered and it almost felt like she was about to cry.
"What are you talking about? Isn't this the County Magistrate's manor? Then how come there are no servants here?" Xiang Ling finally asked the question she had been wanting to ask throughout the day after she constantly failed to see any servant working in the manor.
"My Lady, you... all the servants left because of... you..." Fu Xiao was too afraid to say out loud that there were no servants in the manor since they all left because of Xiang Ling's nature of constant bullying and torturing them.
At this point, Xiang Ling didn't even dare to think that Fu Xiao would be joking. If it was her, she would also have never worked for a horrible master like the previous owner of the body.
"What about those from the morning?" She asked as she suddenly recalled the servants who accompanied her during her return to the manor.
"My Lady, Elder Su, and others left the manor along with Master and Madam to live in the County Magistrate office two months ago when you married Fifth Master. They only provided a helping hand this morning because I sent a letter to Master to inform him about your disappearance." Fu Xiao explained.
So, the County Magistrate and his Wife no longer lived in the Chen Manor, and all the servants, except for Fu Xiao, had also left. No wonder such a beautiful manor was now in such a horrible condition.
