"Hey! I need to go to the restroom and wash up," a waitress at the Moon Bucks cafe told her male coworker.
The male coworker turned to her after settling a customer that he was attending to.
"Still bothered by that coffee stain, huh?" he asked, glancing at the brown stain on her apron.
The waitress held up her white — now coffee-stained — apron and made a sad face while matching her feet repeatedly on the floor.
"Yesss," she cried.
Her crocodile tears were geared toward gaining sympathy from her male coworker but it didn't seem to be working so well.
He gently poked her forehead and smiled.
"I told you to use white vinegar on that. It would come off in no time. Works like magic, every time."
"No money for that, man," she cried.
"What the fuck?" the male coworker responded and burst out laughing.
"It's just three bucks. Even you can't be that broke."
The waitress glared at him with squinted eyes and puffed cheeks, all in her subtle expression of anger.
"Well... I... am!"
The young waiter narrowed his eyes in disbelief. "You earn like a hundred to two hundred bucks here, man. I get that it's not enough... but how broke can you be?"
The waitress knew her complaints would do no good with gaining her colleague's empathy and finally gave up.
She walked away from him and headed to the restroom as she earlier intended to see what she could do about the coffee stain pending when she goes home to wash it.
.
.
.
The wall of the restroom was already tainted with blood stains.
Blood splattered all over the floor and on the long horizontally placed mirror in the restroom.
The sound of footsteps strolling towards the entrance of the restroom resonated.
"What is this?" muttered the waitress who had taken her break to go and wash up.
A long trail of blood lay on the ground before her eyes
She was shocked and disgusted.
Driven by curiosity, she continued to head to the restroom in calculated steps until she came upon the bloody mess of a scene.
She reached from the sight. Immediately, feeling everything inside her guts wanting to rush out from her mouth, she covered her mouth for a short period.
'Oh my god!' she exclaimed inwardly as her eyes gaped from fear.
She almost fell to the bloodied floor from the heart-stopping scare.
Almost as if she had forgotten herself and where she was, the waitress stood there, gazing mindlessly at the scene.
She was confused, looking around and not knowing what to do or who to call.
The next thing that happened was the triggering of a delayed natural response.
"Aaaaahhhhhh!" she screamed. er
Her voice reached out to the entire cafe, and then she ran out.
She ran as fast as she could, slipping and staggering as she tried to balance herself.
The waitress had witnessed a scarring scene, one that will be engraved in her memory for a long time to come.
The track of blood she followed led even further into the restroom reaching the heels of Lucia's feet.
She was sat up against the wall.
Her body stayed there, quiet, peaceful and motionless.
Her clothes were stained red with blood and from her mouth, blood dripped down to her turtleneck top.
Her purple hair fell over her face, dishevelled and obscuring her face while hiding the agony she experienced in her final moment that could have been revealed to onlookers that would come.
Her arms were to her side and on the floor, her soft hands had turned cold and dry as blood seeped from her right hand that had all five fingers on it chopped off.
Lucia's chest was riddled with small actively bleeding holes from Matt's bullets.
She was shot three times and allowed to bleed out.
In her final moment, Lucia tried to cling to life but with the volume of blood she had lost, life was continually leaving her no matter the conviction she had to survive.
Matt left her lifeless body in the restroom to rot as he abandoned the scene unnoticed by anyone.
He was long gone by the time the waitress came upon the scene.
She laid there against the wall, stiffened and cold to the bones and her blood was drying up and thickening.
Lucia had been murdered in cold blood.
What was the reason behind her death?
What had she done?
