Chapter 17 - Time Skip

'I fucking attempted a rape?!' Jeremy cursed in his mind, feeling surprised about the thing his body's past owner did.

'I attempted it and still failed?!'

Looking at his mother in shock, he sighed, "Fine, we can leave the respect part, mother. I just want to go on the trip."

"Why is the trip so important? And I heard you were admitted to the asylum for NoDe?" Linda walked into Luke's room and sat on a chair.

"I mean, it just happened. Bullies, you know?" Jeremy shrugged.

"You should have told me or your brother, he has some good friends in school who can stop those bullies, Luke."

"Oh yeah? Tell my brother for what? So he can laugh at me and make fun of me? Just stop this pointless talk, mother. I just want to go on the trip with my friends." Jeremy said.

"Friends? Do you have any? Tell me the name of even one friend."

"Arthur. I called you with his number." Jeremy replied with a snort, 'Though I had to pay for the call.'

"…" Linda was speechless, every time she asked about Luke from others, the only reply she got was he has no friends and he is pathetic.

"Well? Can you sign now or do you have more questions?" Jeremy smirked slightly, he had his mother cornered.

Little did he know, she was already planning to sign it, she was just testing his resolve and maybe having some fun by teasing him too.

"Yeah yeah, I will." Linda took out a fancy hand purse and picked up a pen from it along with a bundle of cash. She threw the bundle to Jeremy and he instinctively caught it.

He looked at her in confusion.

"Buy something you like from the border, they have rare materials and artifacts there." Linda merely smiled and gestured for Jeremy to bring the application.

Jeremy stuffed the money in his wallet and quickly fetched the application, which he had already filled out with everything except the parent's signature.

"Aria, I permit this signature," Linda said before scribbling her signature on the paper.

Jeremy watched in intrigue, so this was how they would confirm if the signature was authentic or not. Thank god that he didn't try to copy the signature.

"What about fathers?" Jeremy looked at her.

"I will get it." Linda got up from her seat and smoothed the crease in her fancy robes, walking out of the room without even turning to glance at Jeremy again.

But Jeremy knew that he had already fixed Luke's relationship with his mother. As for his brother and father? They can die in a ditch for all he cares.

'Should I try to make up with the maid too?'

Jeremy soon dropped the idea, there was a month left in the trip, and he wasn't planning to stay in this shitty house any longer.

Just the thought of having to look at his obnoxious father and the bratty brother sent chills down his spine. He was on verge of punching the shit out of his brother already, how will he hold it back for one whole month?

Jeremy dropped his work and began to pack his bags back up, though he barely even brought anything from his dorm and everything was already present here.

So like any normal person, he dumped all his worn-out clothes that he brought and began to pack his bag with the expensive ones in his closet.

One might say why the hell is he doing this when he is literally the owner of all these things?

It's like owning the biggest pizzeria in the city, but still fighting for a slice from a homeless man.

But Jeremy thought differently, he didn't want to keep any sort of connection with the Orsics family, except the mother maybe, but then shouldn't he dump the clothes and do everything on his own?

That's what people with a basic conscience would do.

Alas, Jeremy didn't have that. According to him, it's best to use his family and these guys before he leaves this house forever.

After packing and stuffing every expensive item in his bags, Jeremy walked downstairs with his backpack in tow, and instantly, he found Ida standing beside the centre table in the living room and his 'father' sitting on the couch.

He was leaning over the table and scribbling a piece of paper with a pen, and looking at Jeremy, he scowled.

"Ida, give it to him." Matthew passed the paper to Ida who bowed respectfully and walked to Jeremy to hand him the note.

"Thanks." Jeremy smiled and took the note, but as expected, Ida didn't pay any attention to him and walked away.

"I'll get going then, sir, mother." Jeremy gave a curt nod to Matthew and Linda before stuffing his application in his pocket and leaving the mansion with the help of Aria guiding him towards his dorm room.

The days after that got only increasingly mundane and boring, Jeremy spent most of his time doing cardio and light workouts in his room while the classes in school were as boring as ever.

Jeremy already knew everything they taught, despite it being more advanced than the studies in some other worlds.

As for Lisa, she never gathered the guts to come forward and talk to Jeremy in any meaningful way. All she did was gawk at him and sometimes pass sarcastic comments when he walked by.

Slowly and hella boringly, one month soon passed by and the time of field trip dawned closer.

During the month by maintaining a low-carb, high-protein diet and focusing on weight loss activities, Jeremy had managed to shed a total of 7kgs from his weight.

Although he still looked like a fucking human football, his stamina had improved as much as he could walk for a mile before panting for air like a bitch in heat.

"Everyone who wants to go on the field trip, form a single line and board your assigned hoverbusses?" The CR of the class announced in a loud voice, reaching every student and twisting their faces into a grin.

And among the smiling faces, was Jeremy.

His smile was different than the rest with his lips curled upwards and his teeth showing barely, his eyes were partly closed and anyone who would look at him would only say one word.

"Creepy…" – Lisa.
