Chapter 57 - Second Appearnce of The Scribe to Cainan

The next day, gossips spread throughout the people within the palace of Jerusalem. A delirious man that went suddenly went missing. The soldiers that were assigned were punished, being sent to the city-states that were established under Mizraim, Ham's descendant. The servants were confused as to why the punishment was too light, but Cainan answered that they have not sinned enough to be given too high of a price to pay. He also said that maybe the man had already left since he was indeed delirious.

Not being able to retort, they could only accept their Lord's reasoning. Cainan continued to shut down any curious minds, but remained open and lenient as to not be viewed the same as his mysterious uncle.

Because of Cainan silencing the man, the situation continued, with the ignorant men living a life of bliss under a man cooperating with demons to rule over the world. Cainan knew exactly what he was doing. Although it is of great sin, he cannot risk having his son Eber living a life that was filled with the scorn of the masses just because of what his uncle did.

If he revealed to everyone the sin of Asshur, the entire line of Shem's descendants would lose their honor as God's most faithful servants. They would also lose the power that they have and would either be killed, or worse, be reduced to slaves. To keep their honor, dignity, and power, the lie has to continue.

With that, another twenty years passed. At this time, a lot had already begun to suspect the Asshur's seemingly too long of a life. It was much longer than any of his peers. Those of his generation had already started to either look decrepit or already rotting below the ground while he was looking like he was still in his fifties. They soon came to a conclusion; Asshur was Noah's inheritor, a true Servant of God!

With this, the leadership of Asshur just became more and more powerful, with staunch supporters coming out from all the cities of the east. Of course, only the "backwater" West was excluded, still with no contacts established. It seems that Japheth's subjects were hellbent on not forgiving them.

Asshur still did not return to Jerusalem, preferring to only stay within the lands of Shinar. This resulted in more power being held by his nephew. Cainan did all that he can utilizing it, spreading their influence and power more, stabilizing the situations that arises, while simultaneously silencing anyone with even an inch of a desire for a new power. Until one faithful day…

While Cainan was on his balcony, overlooking the people, he suddenly felt a presence in the void reaching to the star he was harmonizing with. When he looked at the direction the odd aura was coming from, he saw a man with familiar characteristics from the stories of old. On his right hand rests a pure white scroll, while in his left was a black brush that was releasing a terrifying aura. Behind the man, 72 wings fluttered, each with different presence.

In his presence, the void seemed to become active, swirling around him like planets to a star. The man was looking right through the star— directly at him— and proclaimed, "Repent, sinner of Shem. The tower of sin is destined to fall. All of your actions are meaningless."

"T-The Scribe!" Cainan, as a scholar, knew exactly who the man was. The ancestor Noah had written that the being of 72 wings was God's Messenger, one that has authority over His angels. He was God's right-hand man. Also, he was Enoch, Noah's ancestor; one that spoke with God's true being even as a mortal.

Realizing what the Scribe had just called him, his knees plopped to the ground, knowing full well his deeds rightful for punishment. "Oh Great Scribe, tell this sinner what to do to be forgiven!" He pleaded, palms rubbing with worry.

"You who let evil take root once more, hear me. To be forgiven by God, you are to be scorned by all." The Scribe said to him, "There will come a time when the false god Asshur, spirit born from the ashes of dead Nephilim, will come down from his tower and address the people of Shinar. You shall kill him before he even says a word. Doing so, humanity would be absolved of sin." After saying that, The Scribe vanished and the void returned to its dormant, indifferent state.

His mind was sent to disarray, causing him to lose focus. His senses returned to his earthly body, sitting there for hours, contemplating. When an idea came to him, he began to prepare some of the things he would need. The Scribe did not tell him when that fateful day would happen, so he would need to act fast. Suddenly, before he could even do so, his son, Eber, now at the ripe age of 20, came barging into his room, shocking him. "What is it, son?" He asked with an irritated tone.

"Father, look!" Eber, not minding his tone, raised what he was holding in his arms; a beautiful young woman. Cainan's eyes widened in disbelief. Walking towards his son, he had his mouth widened in disbelief, "She is Azurad, my wife."

Gazing at the happy couple, Cainan's eyes watered as tears ran down his cheeks. Seeing him, he just thought of one more thing to do before that happens.

In the snowy mountains of the east, a messy topless old man shook in the cold, his overgrown hair and beard reaching the ground. His eyes were cloudy, devoid of purpose in life. Suddenly, the old man jerked, looking behind him; there was a butterfly, ever so majestically flapping its wings, flying towards him.

"You who abandoned your duty, hear me."

In the north, in a wide meadow, there was a small house of hay. Outside it was a man with a huge book burdening his back, plowing the fields peacefully. Standing up to ease the tension in his back, he wiped the sweat off his forehead. Suddenly, he saw a person walking towards him. Squinting his eyes, he tried to see who it was.

When he did recognize the person, his body shook with fright. He raised the rake in his hand, preparing to fight.

"Really? Have you forgotten the lesson 'not to raise a weapon against someone like me'?" The woman smirked, 'Relax, I just have something for you to do."
