The armored vehicle came to an abrupt stop in front of the imposing Baxter Tower, a beacon of hope among the absolute chaos that reigned in the city. Demonic creatures continued to prowl everywhere, but something in the presence of the building, perhaps an invisible force field, kept them at bay, as if they were aware that they could not easily penetrate here.
Aleis stepped out of the vehicle, feeling the weight of the air charged with dark, chaotic energy. Around her, reality itself seemed to vibrate, distorted by the effects of Limbo seeping into this world. Susan Storm stood by her side, her expression tense but determined. The sky, tinted a deep red, was a constant reminder of the threat looming over them.
"Madelyne is closer to breaking the barrier between the two planes," Susan said, looking up at the sky. If he succeeds, not only the city, but the entire world will be lost.
Aleis nodded. He knew the fate of the world rested on his shoulders and those of the few left standing to fight. The new suit Susan had given him amplified every little boost of his powers, giving him an advantage. But still, the confrontation with Madelyne Pryor, a sorceress with absolute control of Limbo, would be a challenge like none he had faced before.
"Baxter Tower has a portal to the Limbo dimension," Susan continued. "Reed created it as an escape route in case we ever needed to study it more closely. But now, it is our only way to reach Madelyne."
The mutant looked at her, quickly processing what that meant. They would enter directly into Limbo, the queen's own territory, where her power would be limitless. The madness and chaos of that dimension already seeped into this world, but it would be exponentially worse there.
"It won't just be Madelyne we have to deal with," Aleis said, remembering what he had learned in his time with the X-Men. "Limbo is full of demons, creatures that obey their commands. And that place… it can warp your mind if you're not careful."
Susan looked at him seriously, but her eyes reflected determination. She knew what was at stake.
"I know. But we have no choice. If we don't stop her, the world will be consumed by madness."
They quickly entered Baxter Tower, where Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four, was already waiting for them with his analytical gaze and his team at the ready.
"Aleis, it's an honor to finally meet you," Reed said, extending his hand. "We've followed your abilities for a long time. Your control over the vectors could be the key to closing the portals to Limbo. But you'll need help to face what's to come."
The young man nodded, accepting Reed's greeting. At that moment, Reed revealed a compact bracelet-shaped device, which seemed to vibrate with energy.
"This is what we call the 'Vector Neutralizer,'" Reed explained. "It's designed to amplify your power to levels you've never experienced before. With it, you might be able to manipulate the very structure of Limbo enough to destabilize the sorceress and close the portals."
Caringly, the albino took the device, feeling the pulse of energy flow through it. He placed it on his wrist, and immediately felt a direct connection to his powers, as if he could now sense not only the vectors of matter in this world, but also the chaotic waves of Limbo seeping through the portals.
"I can't do it alone," Aleis said, looking at Susan and Reed. "If we're going to enter Limbo, I'm going to need all the support I can get. Madelyne isn't going to hold back, and neither can we."
"You won't be alone," Susan replied, a spark of firmness in her voice. "We will fight you to the end."
Reed nodded, and with a simple gesture, activated the machinery that began to open the portal to Limbo. A vortex of dark energy formed in the center of the room, emitting a high-pitched, terrifying hiss. From the other side, Aleis could feel the madness of Limbo spreading toward them, inviting them to cross.
"It's now or never," Reed said. "If we stop Madelyne here, we can save the world. If we fail…"
There was no need to finish that sentence. They knew what was at stake.
The teenager took a deep breath and took a step toward the portal, his limbs charged with psychic energy, his thoughts focused. He knew that once inside, there would be no turning back. But with Susan and Reed at his side, with the new power flowing through his suit and the Vector Neutralizer, Aleis felt more prepared than ever to face what was to come.
"For the living and the fallen," he whispered to himself, before crossing the threshold into Hell.
Limbo greeted them with its enveloping chaos, distorting reality with every step they took. Demonic creatures materialized in the darkness, their eyes shining with hellish madness. And on the horizon, between distorted towers and impossible landscapes, the silhouette of Madelyne Pryor, the Queen of Limbo, awaited them with a cruel smile.
The final battle had just begun.
