Chapter 27 - Morning Sickness

"So, you are telling me you are incompetent. What is the use of having you as my subordinate when an easy job was ruthlessly botched by your incompetence?"

"Who was it that broke the sacred secret and revealed to the lower territories our trick of swallowing them up when they were ripe? This needed serious deliberation by those oldies. How many people are aware of such tricks? I fear a lot of those shrimp who are struggling for power and authorities will be aware, and it will be totally impossible to plot their deaths. It will trigger those fools warnings. I do not wish them to hang around me."

"Hmm! I will call for an emergency meeting while you... Aflac, or whatever you are called. Do the needful. I want Hattie State as my subordinate. I don't care about the methods, but make sure nothing is linked to me." The female president stood up and left Senator Aflac seated and confused.

Senator Aflac knew he had become the sacrificial lamb. If he makes too much noise, the new bodies established by the overlord will come knocking at his door. How should he rope Grayson to this hell ship without making some noise? While, at the same time, diverting attention from himself.

Being not welcome anymore, he stood up and left. He was heading to his territory. He needed detailed plan on how to take down Hattie State and gift it to his insatiable master.

...

Hattie state.

The security defense of Hattie State had been made sure to keep records of all coming into their territory. Any signs of shenanigans, and they are deported. While the existing gangs are having the blunt heat, they are being eliminated in troops, making all gangsters good citizens.

No gang or underground organization dared to make a pin noise. They understood the territory would face crises, and the governor is trimming down those gangs likely to cause internal strife. They did well by respecting themselves and avoiding strange deaths from the governor's assassins.

Hattie State was experiencing a great time of zero crimes. The police force had a long overdue and appreciated rest. No gangsters or criminals messing up. They never knew the governor was behind them.

Soon, it was made clear to all of Hattie's residents. The territory was gearing for war. The roadblocks were so close to each other. It caused hours-long traffic. Each residence had to go through a series of identity checks. They were furious but did not make any noise.

A lot of residents are in prison now being shown hell, and when they proved their validity as a bona fide residence, they were freed, but not without health complications. Others, not aware, quickly got the gist. All residents were sure to respect themselves during routine searches.

Daring not to make a single noise. Now, they understood the situation. The gangsters disappearance means they have been eliminated. There is no need to burn brain cells. An ordinary residence was made to experience hell. How much more terror gangsters? For them, being alive will be a miracle.

Seriously, who is this new enemy that is making them stay on edge?

At Aflac Mansion.

Senator Aflac understood that Hattie State had become impenetrable. All his sleeper agents were discovered and eliminated. The annoying road blocks made it impossible to sneak in. The airport or other means of transportation were under serious scrutiny.

A fly can't penetrate this defense. No wonder the president wished and dreamed of having this territory. A single threat, and it has transformed, baring its teeth out. Ready to crack hard on everyone.

Well, he will use the subordinate territories to taste the waters.

He had to be careful here. A single mistake will trigger those enforcers, and his days will be practically over.

...

Saphila mansion.

The morning was no longer young. The hustle and bustle that accompanied it has calmed down. Looking at the time, it was half past the hour of nine.

Elaine was having a serious meeting with the territory-building companies she could lay her hands on. She had laid down her cards; they are to come up with marvelous ideas that will be presented at tomorrow's meeting with her subordinates.

She was kind of rushing things today. She feels quite irritated, and other times she feels sloppy and dizzy.

There was also this type of uncontrollable tap housing saliva in her mouth. She was constantly spitting out at any given opportunity, but the saliva didn't seem to finish. This was pissing her off too.

As the leaders of the territory construction companies were gone, she called for Apple, her personal home assistant.

Apple arrived, and Elaine unleashed her worry: "Apple, I feel sick today. A kind of irritating sickness."

She explained her plight, but how can a full-time virgin understand this senior woman stuff?

For the first time since her arrival, Apple has failed to give her any answers. She looked blank, like a sheet of paper.

"Do we have resident doctors? I hate visiting the hospitals." The dull Elaine asked, rescuing Apple from infinite conjecture.

"Yes, my lady. Should I fetch them for you? What a silly question! I will get one of them for you. The hottest male doctor. Probably he might brighten you up." She completed her sentence and dashed off, not giving Elaine the opportunity to counterattack.

Elaine was shocked and then smiled. Her first smile of the day.

...

"My lady, are you aware you are with a child?" The young doctor.

The young doctor who got the body and facial structure of Aqua Man and was also easily mistaken for a model instead of a doctor said this to Elaine.

"Yeah,... I don't even know if the festus is a boy or a girl. The child is the reason I left home and bought the entire Saphila." Elaine explained, and the doctor with Apple knew she had a wild journey under that happy face of hers. They won't pry for now. Only give her time to open up if she wishes to let anyone in on her story.

"Okay, my lady. I will start by determining the gender of the festus. Please lie on your bed. Raise your shirt up. Exposing only your stomach to me. Good!"

He took his equipment. Apply some whatever gel to the equipment's mouth and keep circling it around Elaine's stomach while staring at an X-ray' monitor. For Apple and Elaine, alike, there was a marvel—a heart beating, and something was living. On the monitoring screen was a festus that looked like a half-tai chi or a half-broken love was breathing. The doctor did his jargon turn to Elaine and said, "Congratulations, my lady. It's a girl."

He shows his smile again, mesmerizing Apple, who was already charmed by his look.

He still continued, "You will be needing a lot of rest these coming days. I will draft a perfect antenatal plan for the baby. I will be visiting once a week to check in on the health of the baby girl and her womb positions. We would not like complications during childbirth or an unhealthy child when delivered."

"Do you thing, doctor?"

"I will also draft a healthy diet for both the child and you. No junk meal is needed during this period."
