Chapter 29 - Annoying Checkpoints

If she can place her banner on all the countries, she believes the lesser territories will fall in line. With such a warmonger born, the entire continent will be plugged into war. One president planned to go against a continent. Can such a dream be completed? If she followed the normal way of invading, creating chaos, and taking over, there might be an opportunity to claim the whole continent in the future. But she decided on the ancient method of conquest of her rivals, not minding that they could form a resistance alliance to combat her and dive into a prolonged century or millennia of war.

The conclusion of such a war won't witness her presence. She would be long dead by then. Although humans have improved on their genetic remake, they can't live past half a millennium. So where would she have the luxury of living more than a thousand years unless the human researchers at Blue Planet upgraded the gene-remake shots, increasing life expectancy to such an age?

They might make some improvements to such genetic injections, but not in this granny era.

...

Saphila

Elaine had received some rare guests. The armed forces are under her rules. They came to identify themselves with their leader and to request the start of exploration of the Saphila continent at large.

Though their goal is in line with Elaine's visions for Saphila, she would be a great fool to send off the military in these worrying times. Her enemies have decided to act but have to send away her military forces for easy access to the Saphila region. This is a childish move by them, or rather, do they consider her a green horn that does not understand battles?

Ha-ha, seriously underestimating the rival force is the beginning of a crushing and miserable defeat. Elaine made her stance clear. The military must begin the exploration quest, but not now. They are required to strengthen all borders in the Saphila South region. They should create roadblocks every ten minutes of driving.

She copied her father's annoying roadblock tactic during an emergency. Having a roadblock every ten minutes meant having to be checked every ten minutes. This ruthless tactic was a bane to invading spies.

For the spies who spend fortunes to make the law look the other way. Elaine wanted to know how they would successfully bribe the world. A few military personnel can be corrupt. This shows it is run by humans and not automated machines. But the number of patriotism-filled soldiers of the military towards their territories superseded those corrupt ones.

Therefore, if you can bribe checkpoint A, don't think you will be successful at checkpoint B. The fact is that you won't know the checkpoints that are not filled with your people to begin with. This is horror falling into the hands of regiments totally devoted to protecting their territories.

The next fact was that Elaine was scattering these military forces. She made sure to reshuffle each unit to a different distant unit where all faces were new. How can they form a solid battle tactic?

These checkpoints and military reshuffles spoil all the previous arrangements of the enemy. Coupled with the fact that Elaine will send the military forces on an exploration mission, but only when a large recruitment has been done and those recruits have passed their basic training to become proper soldiers.

If these requirements are completed, the military can discuss the exploration quest with her on any given day. They raised the issue of less money. She vowed in her honour to inject huge amounts of cash to revitalize her military forces and their toys. Being defeated in this aspect, her enemies lay low for another opportunity.

...

Whether those escaped troublers of the Saphila South region will strike again was the least of her worries.

She returned to hatching plans for what her territory would look like. The day was spent on such jobs. The next day, she had a virtual series of meetings with various leaders, shareholders, investors, and other people of various ranks and files.

Hours flew by, and they covered all the various topics facing her territory. It will cost over twenty trillion blue currency to fix the territory to her desired vision.

It is a hell of money for her, who inherited her mother's empire. There will be a big dip in her reserve. Though it will not bankrupt her, a major business empire under her name will be sold. She doesn't like such tales. Those are her strategic fallbacks.

She decided to take a step back. First, build the Cybertron city. Then, she will proceed with other sections. She will balance the money gotten from the city's various net profits with her purse to establish other sections in Saphila.

If she decides to tidy up the project at once, she will have a problem. The moment she indulges in loans, her territory doesn't have a future anymore. The creditors will make sure she is thoroughly dependent on them for the survival of her territory.

The rumour of Granny having a secret stash for the development of Saphila was ignored. She was not a treasure hunter, nor will she be in the near future.

But if she can find such a legendary stash, she is definitely sure to crazy boost her territory development like those pay-to-win gamers.

She outlined to those present that they would begin the construction of the whole territory. Her economy manager made a plan for the allocation of territory wealth. The outstanding wealth that was gotten from the seized properties of those escaped criminals messing up her territory was calculated.

The profit margins rose to eighteen trillions worth of assets, but the excess liquid assets after a reduction in the cost of operations and unforeseen accidents were barely five trillion worth of blue currency. She will invest four trillions in her territories' military, education, hospital, and finally business sections. The remaining over a trillion blue currency will begin the construction of her territory.

The blueprints that encompassed the whole Saphila continent won't be completed immediately. They will take their time with the south, then slowly explore other geographic regions before constructing such regions. The whole of the southern region in which she resides will require 25% of her set vision.

The building of the Cybertron cityscape will require 4 trillions of blue currency. She has over a trillion blue currency, and the remaining outstanding deficit will be to the tune of over 3 trillion of blue currency. This is a reasonable sum for her without breaking her bank.

She quickly approved the construction of the Saphila south region while at the same time establishing the building committee, whose sole job is to watch out for foul play among those companies. Substandard building materials, cutting of corners, or thereabouts will be dealt with heavily.

In short, she wants a fool to fall into her trap. She will ruthlessly deal with such idiots to make others fall into place.
