Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Leaders Summit

In a room larger than Star City's Hall, around twenty people sat around a massive looking rectangular table. These people sitting were the leader of their respective factions and cities including Tessa.

"Some of you may know me, some of you may not. I am Roger, one of the founders of the World Government and the reasons for this meeting is due to Spade City plea for assistance from other nations. I will let the city's leader carry on with the rest." A man sitting in the middle of the three chairs lined in front of the table said.

"I'll skip the formalities and get straight to the point. Spade City is in need of urgent assistance. The zombies seem to be now common these days as most of our adventurers come back heavily wounded after coming back from most expeditions." The man said.

Spade City's leader was Nate a man who looked like someone in his late thirties, he had orange ponytailed hair, along with green eyes and a long rectangular looking face. Standing behind him were brute looking men.

"Now what do we get in return if we choose to help you?" A lady asked.

The lady was someone in her early forties. She had white hair, black eyes with also a V shaped face, her skin was slightly pale and her lips were painted red. She known by her people as The Widow.

"Alliance. You get an unbreakable alliance from Spade City." Nate said.

"Hahahahaha. How desperate can you guys be, that's pathetic." A man who was almost as big and bulky as the Goblin Chief mocked Nate.

Nate gave the man a stern glare, which made him grin like a madman.

'That bastard is purposely trying to make Spade City, look weak to reduce our chances of getting help.' Nate cursed at the man inwardly

"Star City, will support Spade City in whatever way they need." Tessa suddenly said.

This made Nate's attention turned towards Tessa who just suddenly decided to help them.

"But in return, Spade City must not hesitate come to our aid no matter what." Tessa added.

Nate was now in deep thoughts on Tessa's demand as her condition to him semms slightly over board.

"Alright, then you have a deal." Nate said.

"Targeria will also support your Spade City, but only with the same conditions as her." The Widow said pointing at Tessa.

"The Hunters Faction also supports Spade City with the same conditions." A large muscular man said.

Nate waited for a while to see if anyone else was going to lend help, but it was only Tessa, The Widow and the man from the Hunters Faction.

"I thank those of you decided to help Spade City. Whenever anyone of your cities is in need, we will not hesitate to come to your aid " Nate said.

"Now that, that's out of the way. Those that agreed to be of help to Spade Kingdom, come with me so a written contract can be made. Including you." Roger said pointing at Nate. "Is there anything anyone would like us to discuss about."

He waited for a while to see if anyone had any contributions to add, but no one said anything.

"In the absence of none, this meeting is concluded." He added. "You are free to leave whenever you please."

After he finished talking, he stood up from his sit and started leaving the room, while the mean on the left and right also did the same.

One by one the leaders left the room, some immediately started leaving heading back to their various cities, while only a minority of them chose the stay and explore the place.

Tessa chose to head back to Star City, immediately to inform everyone about the new deal that had just been made. But she was stopped by a call from a person from behind.

"Excuse me, young lady." A soft voice called.

Tessa and her subordinates turned around to see who the person was, and to their greatest surprise it was The Widow accompanied by two guys and two ladies from Targeria.

"I don't think I've properly introduced myself." She said. " My name is Lily, ruler of Targeria."

She held out her hand for a shake, which Tessa hesitated before doing the same.

"Tessa, ruler of Star City."

"Do you mind me speaking to you privately." Lily asked.

"Sorry but if you have anything to say, you have to say it here." Duke suddenly interrupted.

Tessa raised up her hand signaling Duke to calm down. "It's okay." She said.

Tessa and Lily then walked some considerable distance away from their subordinates while having a little chat.

A few minutes later Tessa and Lily came back and bade each other farewell and left. The journey back to Star City would take up to eighteen hours so it was quite a long journey.

Ever since they left the World Government headquarters, Tessa had been thinking about what Lily told her. Edith and Duke both noticed how lost she was in her thoughts.

"What did she tell you?" Edith finally spoke.

That question brought Tessa out of her thoughts.

"Oh, she just proposed a potential alliance, but we don't actually know where Targeria is." Tessa said.

"If that's the case, what she said was just for show." Duke added.

What Tessa told them was actually different from what she discussed with Lily. What Lily really told her was a person from her council was planning on killing her.

Although Tessa didn't know if she was lying or telling the truth because she had no way of telling.

'What if she's trying to throw us into a state of chaos, but she didn't looking like someone who was lying.' Different thoughts ran through her head. 'What if it's Lloyd and his friends, I barely know them and I don't remember making them part of Star City's leaders. I'm overthinking this.'
