"What the hell is this damned world doing. Is it trying to make the human race go extinct." Lloyd shouted. "I don't think I'm the only one seeing this, I have to go find Ace."
Lloyd rushed out of his room, running towards the city hall as fast as he could.
After some minutes of running he finally got to the city hall, but when he got there he couldn't find Ace. Tessa, Edith and Duke were already making preparations for the incoming danger.
"Fortify, the rear gates with as much resources as you can. Gear up every battle based class users that have combat experience." Tessa said with a panicked look on her face.
Just then Ace rushed in, panting heavily. He ran from the training grounds which was located at the opposite end of the city all the way here.
"I'm sure you all have seen that notification too right?" Ace asked while panting heavily.
"Yes we all saw it and are already preparing for it." Duke answered.
"If you have any contributions, it would be greatly appreciated." Tessa said.
"The main gate. I don't know if we have enough time, but a barricade should be put there. If monsters are going to come here, that would slow them down for a while." Ace said.
"That could work. We could also dig a pit around the city. With the adequate manpower,we could do it." Lloyd added.
"That'll take too long. We should also be aware of the fact that the non combat based class users would need protection," Ace said.
"What if we gather them a in one place, somewhere space incase the monsters were to break into the city." Edith said.
Although Star City was called a city, it was actually as small as a village that why they were able to go around on foot.
"Although the forge is big, it won't hold everyone in the city. Even if we use the storage room, it still won't be enough." Duke said.
"Then why don't we use both, it could be enough." Lloyd said. "But we'll have to split the people protecting them.
"Thank you all for your contributions, now let's get to work." Tessa said.
Some in Star City, the two mysterious figures from the hobgoblins settlement. Sat at the famous bar of city.
"This is perfect. He's going to inform us when he's ready." The one known as Baron with a creepy giggling.
"The quicker we get this done with, the better." The other one known as Shark said.
They both wore hid their appearance under they cloaks they wore.
"We mustn't fall the master." Shark said, in a manner that sounded like a growl.
Four hours had already past in a flash, most of the preparations were completed. The barricades were not completed yet, but the who wouldn't be fighting had already gone to the space locations while the rest of them trained and did one thing or the other to speed up the process.
"Hurry up, we don't have much time left." Duke shouted out.
The barricades was fifty percent done. Long woods pointed towards the direction at which the monsters were going to come from.
Almost everyone had a look of anxiety or nervousness on their faces. This world was still new to them and all these monsters caused trauma for someone of them, while something the deaths they witnessed caused nightmares.
At the corner Ace and Chris, both having a nervous look on their faces.
[Countdown Till Invasion Begins: 01:41:12]
'Calm yourself Ace, don't let the fear get to you. You've prepared for this.' Ace thought as he looked at the timer.
"You okay?" Chris asked as had noticed Ace's strange behavior.
"I'm fine," Ace replied with a fake smile.
Although Ace said he was okay, Chris know that it wasn't true but he decided not to ask him other things.
"To be honest, I'm not fine." Ace suddenly said." I'm worried. This is too much for us to handle, we don't even know what kind of monsters are going to appear when it begins."
Chris was surprised by Ace's reaction, because to him Ace was one of the calmest and logically people he knew. Seeing him like this, Chris couldn't imagine what kind of danger awaits them.
"I'm sure we can survive this together," Chris said with his hands on Ace's shoulder.
Then a young man approached "Valkyrie wants to see you. She says it's urgent."
Ace stood quiet for a while, then he said "Where is she at?"
"At the city gate." The man said and walked away.
"Give me a sec," Ace said to Chris before leaving.
