The next day,
Orgarkov was brought to a military base located on the outskirts of Moscow. Patrol is everywhere, and the security level has been brought to the highest. His vehicle stops in front of a building, outside, are the vehicles of others, and it seems to be like many are going to join the meeting.
He is then brought to an underground bunker, by the officer who leads him here, he knows that this underground was newly built after the war began, and the materials are specially made, making sure that they can repel and block all the magic.
By the time Orgarkov entered the meeting room, many others were already there, including Andropov, Ustinov, and even Foreign Minister Gromyko and Economic Minister Kosygin. He even sees the Commander of the Belarus and Ukraine Front, Zaitsev and Gerasimov here. However, the total number of men in the room is only ten plus, all are high-ranking officers.
What will be the meeting about that will need these people to be here?
Orgarkov had this question in his mind. After not long he got to his seat, Brezhnev was also here, and the meeting began.
"Good morning to all comrade, I believe everyone was ready to launch the assault on the orcs and ready to build another decisive victory for the motherland, party and our people. But before that, comrade Gromyko has news for us, this will decide what will be going to happen for the next few months or even a year."
Brezhnev was the first to speak at the meeting opening. Gromyko who was mentioned then was the second to speak and announced to the news.
"Comrade, yesterday, the foreign minister received the news from the Karak, the news states that the orcs, want to have peace with us. Comrade secretary here to ask all your opinions, as you are the one who fought in the front, should we accept this peace? Or should we continue the assault, terminate the war when the orcs are weak now ?"
Gromyko news shocked the whole place. The whole meeting room was immediately filled chatting with voices. But soon, someone has given his opinion.
"Of course, we should continue the war, the reason why the orcs want peace is that they are weak, they can't halt our attack. Comrade secretary, we should not forget what they have done in the Baltic States, same to we shouldn't accept their submission until we have achieved blood for blood. What should we do after accepting their peace, and being friends with them? This is unacceptable, it will be a shame to our Army and a betrayer to our people."
The general's words were instantly recognized by most people in the meeting room. Most of them have the same thinking as well. Brezhnev raised his hand, asking everyone to silence down.
"Comrade Orgarkov, you are the one commanding our army in the front, you are most qualified to answer the suggestion, what do you think about it, Marshal? I want to hear your answer."
Orgarkov has his answer in his the moment he hears the news, but it is still difficult to say it out, almost everyone will oppose his suggestion.
"Comrade Secretary, my answer is to accept the peace."
Orgarkov's answer made the quiet room filled with noise again, even Brezhnev was surprised by his answer.
"Reason, Marshal."
"There are a few, First, I will start with the undead direction first. The land of Plain we just took down, is a few thousand kilometres, in other words, it is nearly another Union, our current troop that defending thereafter transferring some to Ukraine and Belarus, is approximately 5 million. It is a large number and is enough if we are facing a conventional war, but not enough when facing the undead. Yes, of course, more of our conscripted troops are sent there to fill the gap, but, the undead empire is not eliminated yet, we are unable to enter their core province, what they call elements weapon causing our soldiers will die as long as they entered."
"We don't know what other tricks they have yet to use. But from the previous assault, they can hide millions or even billions of creatures under the ground without getting spotted by us, if they launch another attack when we were attacking the orcs, we are forced to fight on two fronts."
"I will not be suggesting for peace if it is only for this reason. The main reason is the orcs, I believe everyone has received the report of the Belarus and Ukraine Front, and the orcs tunnel will be an obstacle for us, even if they are weak now. If we are not able to defeat them like Blitz, we will suffer in it."
"My suggestion is, that we need more time to consolidate our rule on the Land of Plain, at least we need to make sure that it is safe for us. Besides, our army needs some time to redeploy various weapons that can effectively counter the orc's tactics. If we can have peace, in two years, we will have a brand new Red Army that can destroy the orcs, and push in the mountain like how we did in the Land of Plain."
He finished what he wanted to say in one breath. As expected, many came out with their objection.
"Comrade Marshal, the orcs tunnel will not be a problem for us, yes there may be high casualties, but this is war, as long as there is war, there is sacrifice, and necessary sacrifice is needed, the Ukraine Front even show us an effective way to due with these tunnel. As long as we can finish the war in a short time no matter what it costs, we then can achieve relatively low casualties in the end. Plus, comrade Marshal, as you said the tunnel is a big obstacle for us, if we stop the war for two years, the orcs will have more time to fortify their tunnels, and by that time we will need to pay more casualties to win the war."
"Comrade Marshal, soldiers in Baltic, Moscow, and Leningrad districts get their chance to go to the battlefield and earn their honour and merit. But how about us in the Belarus and Ukraine Front, young soldiers and officers are eager to establish merit. If you are worried about heavy casualties, we can just do it slowly, but at least not stop the war."
