Chapter 42 - The Three Kings Conference

The task force that came and protected was reached a few days later. It was also a special task force from the KGB. Chernov finds that they are equipped with a whole series of new weapons and equipment that he has never seen before.

"The army reform operates so fast." Shocked in his mind.

He even knew their captain as well, but he was disguised as a soldier, so even if the officer in the embassy was killed, the task force could continue to fight. It also means he might be scheduled to back to the country at any time. The superior is going to have new jobs for him to do.

All the arrangements mean that the central committee might do something on the Karak, but as a soldier he decided not to think more about it, signing the peace agreement with the orcs now is what he should do.

Another few days later, the peace conference was held in a remote mansion. Looking at all the decoration, Chernov believes that this was the some estate of the Karak nobles, or even their king.

The place is heavily guarded, all unrelated personnel have been evacuated. Though the Karak wanted both countries to have peace, and let them to have the conference inside the country. Fear about these countries is still on everyone's mind, If something happened to a person from any side, it would be a disaster for them.

What if they use these as an excuse and began a war with them? The Karak hardly stopped any one side of them from invading, maybe there is a chance for the orcs, but not for the USSR.

Luckily, the conference went well. Except for the Soviet's soldiers and the orcs dislike each other, insulting each other before and after signing the agreements. Some of them even started a fight until the guards from Karak came and separated them.

After signing the agreement, Zakhaev took a deep breath and told Chernov meaningfully,

"Remember this day, believe me, a few years from now, all the shame we endure today will be washed away."

The group then returned to the embassy, and the mundane life continued. However, it did not take long before Chernov received orders to return to the USSR a few days later. Before he left, he met the leader of the task force.

"Chernov, I never thought this meeting would be so short. We are leaving again, and who knows when will we meet next?"

"Makarov, at least we had the chance to meet, many did not survive the war. We must have a whole box of vodka when we meet in Moscow next time, I hope it won't be long."

Makarov listened and laughed, saying,

"Not long, believe me, at least something that is sure, we will meet here again. By that time, everything will be different. We will meet in different places, under different circumstances, with different men."

Chernov listened and remained silent, looking into his eyes and smiling. Both knew what was going to happen by that time, but they did not say it aloud.

Their conversation, of course, had been eavesdropped on by the Karak, who immediately reported to their supervisor, and ultimately to King Aric.

"Alright, I know."

Everyone who listened to the conversation understood what it meant, even without it, he knew what would happen. The Karak never expected to achieve peace with the Union, and they knew it could not happen; it could never occur in a country without rivals of equal strength.

While the USSR and orcs were having their peace conference, the Karak was also holding another conference, but the venue was not within the Karak.

In front of him are two middle-aged men: one is tall and dressed elegantly, while the other is short and wears simple attire, with piercing dark red eyes. They are the kings of two human kingdoms, Brutus, the tall one, is the king of Valeria, and Garrick, the short one, is the king of Thalor. War has not broken out between them, instead, when these two kingdoms see what the Karak, they know that what they said is true.

The three of them are having a conference at a large round table in a temple. This temple is regarded as a holy place for all three kingdoms, located in the middle of the land. All the wars they started always bypass here, causing the place to become the junction of three borders.

"Barbarians, tell us what you want. I have never seen you mobilize the whole country just to invade us. Can't the alliances be true? How can a country that is several times bigger than us just appear?" Brutus said first.

"Shut up, 'Dasher', I am telling you seriously that it is true, there is just another strong power that has emerged, one that can easily deal with the undead and orcs. Otherwise, why would I give up my border and send every army to invade?" Aric retorted.

The name 'Dasher' was given to Brutus when Aric saw him run at godspeed, throwing his army back during a battle where his forces were completely defeated by Aric.

Brutus, hearing the nickname, was about to stand up and fight Aric but was stopped by Garrick.

"Calm down, 'Dasher'. What the 'Barbarian' said is more significant. Perhaps we must accept the truth, there really is a superpower that will threaten all of us. Theoretically, the undead have the ability to summon another small world or country to Astalia, but I doubt whether the country can be as large as you said." Garrick spoke calmly.

Brutus sit back down and look at Garrick madly, feeling unsatisfied for what he said, but at the same time he also started to think about the solution to due with the USSR.

"'Cockroach', your are the most experienced here for summoning, any assumptions can be made about the USSR? At least for now, the Karak can't find any of their weaknesses."

Garrick has his nickname of 'croackcoach', as his country was expertise in summon magic and portal magic. They could always create a portal and appear behind the enemies lines and summon death to fight for them, causing infinite trouble. They are also called the human kingdom that most resembles the Undead Empire.
