' Bestie, you're on the news', Jordan said with a serious look on her face. Aaliyah didn't wait for her to finish. She rushed inside and switched on her TV. She was all over the news with headlines saying things like ' Fraud' or ' Home wrecker' surrounding her name.
' How did this happen?' Aaliyah asked Jordan who was gauging her reaction. Jordan knew her friend had a short temper and she also had a habit of having panic attacks whenever she heard bad news that she couldn't take. But she seemed to have gained control over it.
She just hoped it wouldn't come back.
' I don't know. But I don't think the boss will be happy about this' Aaliyah realized Jordan was right. Her boss, Mr Andrew Callan, was a cold hearted man. It took her a lot to get into his company and become a modelling agent. To be honest, she wouldn't have gotten the job if it wasn't for Jordan.
Two years ago, when she first arrived in Santa Monica, She didn't know anyone. Mr Jonas had helped her get away from her stupid family by getting her a trip to Santa Monica. Though, it wasn't a fancy flight because she had to go by sea, she was grateful to him. She hoped she could return the favour someday.
But when she got here, she couldn't even find a place to stay. But then, after her tenth attempt of trying to negotiate with some local landlords and ladies, she bumped into Jordan and they instantly clicked. She told Jordan all about her life and her current problem and Jordan told her she could stay with her until she got a place to stay.
Jordan also helped her get a job at her agency. She literally wouldn't have gone anywhere if it wasn't for Jordan. She was forever grateful to Jordan.
' I don't understand. I didn't commit any of these allegations ' Jordan looked at her wondering if she should tell her it was worse on social media.
Aaliyah looked at Jordan and saw the worried and confused look on her face. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously, saying ' What is it you're not telling me, Jordan?'
Jordan bit her lower lip as she hesitated but she didn't want Aaliyah to take out all her frustration on her. So, she let the cat out of the bag ' The internet. People are accusing you of fraud against....the Onyx Empire ' The Onyx Empire? Aaliyah's eyes widened when she realized the CEO of the Onyx Empire. It was none other than Raymund Edric, Naya's husband.
Shock soon turned to anger as she threw a vase across the room. Jordan was quick to duck before the vase hit her. ' Relax! I wasn't the one who posted them!' Aaliyah didn't even hear Jordan as she was seething with rage.
After all these years, they still haven't forgotten about her? Especially after what they did to her two years ago? And now, they were framing her for fraud? She didn't even want to work with any of their models before. But the pay was just too gorgeous to turn down.
And seeing that Audrey was the model she was going to be managing erased most of the doubt in her mind.
Audrey was a young fair skinned eighteen year old with curly blonde hair and baby blue eyes. She was beautiful with her flawless features that made the camera love her. It was no wonder she was on the cover of ' Top 10 most beautiful teen models'
But then again, it wasn't the first time that Aaliyah had made the mistake of judging a book by its cover. Audrey seemed great when they worked together. She seemed like a nice kid.
She never imagined Audrey would betray her like this. Not like they were friends to begin with. But they had a really great working relationship, or so she thought.
' Bestie, you didn't do any of that, right?' Aaliyah looked at Jordan clearly speechless. ' Do you believe I'd do something like that?'
' Of course not, bestie. I know you wouldn't mess with the Onyx Empire even of you have issues with them. But...what're we going to do about this mess? We have to keep this news from getting to Mr Callan if you don't want to lose your job '
' There's no doubt he has seen it already ' And Aaliyah was right. Because the next minute, her phone began to vibrate. She looked at the screen and saw it was the devil himself calling.
