It's been three weeks since Null entered school, and it hasn't been as eventful as Hannah had hoped.
Although it seems he has been introduced to a new style of art. Abstract. And they are beautiful.
His teacher had said he was the most well-behaved student she'd ever had, but he refused to speak to any of his peers.
"Is he even trying to socialize?" she said in annoyance, while Null was in school. Her head was flooded with memories.
Null listened to Miss Grey's lecture. Everyone was quiet. Miss Grey isn't used to her students being quiet while she's teaching. Ever since Null's little threat, they've been quiet and it was a good change.
While she was teaching. A cat jumped in from the window. The cat mewed as it licked its paw. Null looks at it with cold, emotionless eyes, and the cat looks at him as well.
They exchange eye contact for a while. Null knew this cat. He's quite familiar with it. "It seems the cat likes Null," Miss Grey said lightheartedly.
The cat walked to Null and jumped on his desk smelling his body.
Its eyes became slit and it began to grow in size. Null sighed, grabbing the cat by the collar and throwing it out of the classroom through the wall.
Everyone made noises of surprise. "What'd you do that for?" someone said angrily.
They heard a roar that shattered the glass. Null had already stood up. He was holding a pen. "Score-A..." he said quietly. His voice was just like the look on his face. "Don't... move," he said, then the pen transformed into a large long-range gun.
He wasn't just drawing whenever he had free time.
He walks to the window where he sees the fully transformed cat. It was the size of a tiger with elongated fangs and larger claws. It was a Venet Cat. It spews acid from its mouth and has claws that can tear through steel. It wouldn't be wise to engage in close combat. Its fur was as tough as a bulletproof vest
"Null! You should leave this to professionals," Miss Grey said, her hands were sparking and she was ready to fight only to hear a loud bang and another roar.
Null was calmer than Miss Grey in this situation especially when the blast did nothing to the cat. He shot it again as it was running to him, aiming for its eyes and nose, because that was the only weak point.
He blinks in morse code to Miss Grey. 'Venet cat... Score-A. It has poisonous claws and acidic saliva. It's fast and can jump to thirty feet, and has a thick fur coat that acts as a bulletproof vest. It is quite unpredictable. If you try to fight it you will die. Besides it's after me.' He shoots the nose again, making it growl in pain. 'I'll kill it.'
Null jumps out of the window because the cat is moving too much. Just as he jumps down the cat runs to him and smacks him to the nearby wall.
Null gets up almost immediately like nothing happened and continues shooting at the cat.
"Weren't you a soldier, Miss Grey?" a student said.
"I feel like it I should go fight, I'll be thrown back here," Miss Grey said. "But I've notified the army. They'll be on their way."
His attempts were futile because now the cat was dodging the bullets. The only way for him to defeat it is if he's able to get past its fur. If he tries to use a large attack using his V.P. it might not work. But what if he tries to unlock it? Would he have the urge to kill everyone again?
He disposed of the gun. Sometimes it might seem like he has no other choice but to use his fists.
When the cat began spitting acidic saliva he dodged it. The cat too was moving as well. It was moving quite quickly as well. Null got close enough and punched it. Ignoring the pain from the acidic saliva melting through his skin and his bones showing. It burned. But he picks it up and slams it to the ground, raising his leg and using it to smash its airway.
The ground broke when he did this.
"That easy?" a student said in surprise.
"As if you could do better," someone else said. "Does anyone have that on video?"
"I do!" Several students said.
Miss Grey was stunned. 'No normal student should be able to do that,' she thought and then slapped herself mentally. 'Of course, he's not normal, you've been ignoring the fact that he isn't since he arrived!'
The cat's head opened and a holographic video appeared.
"Run as far as you want, Z_0:00." Null saw Natasha in the video. "I'll find you."
Just as he watched the video. Hannah arrived with several soldiers. "Oh no," she said in worry.
The video ended and Hannah ran to Null. "Your arm," she said holding his arms
Null looks at her deadpan. This wouldn't have happened if he could fully utilize his ability. It regenerated now that he wasn't fighting. His body can only concentrate on one thing at a time for now. Now he can concentrate on regenerating.
"He has a V.P.! How unfair!"
Miss Grey jumped down from the window and ran to them. "Hello," Hannah said smiling at her when she arrived.
"I'm so sorry for not fighting," Miss Grey said. "I'm a--"
"Former soldier who retired to pursue her dreams as a teacher," Hannah said neutrally. "I know who you are. Null must have informed you to not move from your position if you didn't want to die," she said.
"Y-yes," Miss Grey said sounding ashamed.
"It's fine, assuming you had fought you would be targeted and be killed off first. Null must've wanted you to live instead of using you as live bait," Hannah said slowly realizing what she said.
"Yes he told everyone in class to not move, that was the first time I heard him talk... so--" Miss Grey was confused as to Hannah's surprised look. Her mouth was opened agape.
"Null!" Hannah shouted turning back to her creation. Null who was standing blankly. He was still regenerating. "You talked and you didn't leave your classmates to die," she said happily. She was so happy, she began to cry.
"Lieutenant, what do we do now?" a soldier said.
"We report back to the headquarters, it seems we have to keep an eye on the score-S+ in a military facility, but I still don't plan on giving up my mission. I might have to enroll him in military school since it's the closest thing to having my wishes fulfilled and keeping him out of the enemies' reach," Hannah said seriously.
"Score-S+ weapon?" Miss Grey said in confusion.
"That is Null..." Hannah said, "...but that is confidential information." She turned to the soldiers. "Give the students some money to keep their mouths shut and destroy their phones. We can't afford word on this getting out to public."
